If MS doesn't close by the 18th then MS or ABK can walk away. To extent they need Bobby's approval. If ABK asks for more money then they will need shareholders vote again.True, but won't they need to revote after the 18th? It's possible they won't want to sell anymore now that the scandal has died down
You seem to forget that we are consumers and gamers, as such we care about having access to more games and not less. So despite you trying to make it irrelevant, it is very relevant that Xbox is trying to destroy the gaming platform just because they are so bad at it and couldn't win. Yes, they want to make money, but what is in it for ME?To make money. The exact same as Sony and Nintendo.
You can't convince me these aren't paid to be so embarassing, and paying for a Twitter subscription as well to be so more people can see you be unhinged about videogames

So it all comes down to CMA. And I get the feeling that they are on the fence (just an instinctive feeling).
CMA arent gods. They can change their mind depending on the deal offer.I have a feeling the CMA won't feel pressured into closing.
Why would they? Microsoft had plenty of time to deal after the initial report laid out their concerns and what they offered was totally inadequate so it got blocked
If MS has a divestiture to restructure the deal, it seems completely implausible to me that they'll approve it by next week

Microsoft Corp. and Activision Blizzard Inc. are considering giving up some control of their cloud-gaming business in the UK
as a way to appease regulators so they can complete their $69 billion merger by the July 18 deadline, according to people familiar with the matter.
That could involve selling off the cloud-based market rights for games in the UK to a telecommunications, gaming or internet-based computing company,
said the people, who asked not to be named discussing confidential planning. A private equity company might also be interested, said one person.
CMA arent gods. They can change their mind depending on the deal offer.
Their main issue has always been cloud. If MS gives up cloud rights, that means CMA would be ok with this approach, because MS wont be in a strong position with this deal in the cloud sector.
Remember that CMA doesnt consider about console sector. Its only cloud concern that they blocked this deal.
That sounds like a red herring offer to me. It does nothing but add a middleman.![]()

To the edge
And I'm about to break
It depends on what both parties agree to.They can change their mind.
But reviewing a brand new restructured proposal isn't going to get properly reviewed by the 18th
Could they have been communicating and drafting up the whole time or is that a no?They can change their mind.

CMA is only responsible for their country. This means that they can negotiate closing down the deal on other countries.
CMA wouldnt have given up the appeal case, if the deal was not good for them. They pretty much had a huge advantage with that cat case. Even this thread was pointing that out, especiallyHeisenberg007
I don't find it surprising that we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. If it really does have anything to do with CoD, my guess would be reaching a agreement with another publisher for publishing rights in the UK. Alas, I imagine it's most likely something none of us are even talking about. Everyone in here has been shooting in the dark, and then scrambling to catch up as new information comes out.I don't know what divestitures they would be discussing if not for CoD
And that's not "small"

A restructured deal means an entirely new deal that has to go through the CMA's regulatory process all over again, the current deal that was announced in 2022 will remain blocked.Could they have been communicating and drafting up the whole time or is that a no?
I guess to dumb it down everything else could be copy and pasted except for the cloud part which would have to be amended with whatever they agree upon?A restructured deal means an entirely new deal that has to go through the CMA's regulatory process all over again, the current deal that was announced in 2022 will remain blocked.
She gives zero fucks.
That is the issue for us.CMA has a global ban in place. They could lift it by the 18th, but as far as we know, that hasn't happened yet. If MS wants to close this weekend then they'll have to lift the ban tomorrow.

Any sort of change/amendment to the current deal requires another probe entirely pretty much.I guess to dumb it down everything else could be copy and pasted except for the cloud part which would have to be amended with whatever they agree upon?
I wish. All of us here want this shit to end.So when I wake up tomorrow this deal should be closed.....right?
At least this has been more interesting than most tv and current movies imo, the highs the lows the twists the unsuspecting turns this last week.I wish. All of us here want this shit to end.
We are like this right now

So when I wake up tomorrow this deal should be closed.....right?
That is the issue for us.
Something must have happened behind the closed scene for both parties to sit down on the table.
You dont get too much coincidence with this deal.
There is a reason why the ftc decided to request tro, even though the cma block makes it hard for MS to close it down before the deadline. Something is brewing behind the scene.
Bobby is personally flying his helicopter to the uk right nowIt's possible, but the CMA put out a statement yesterday saying their final report remained unchanged. We'll find out tomorrow though if the global ban has been lifted, then MS is 100% closing.
So when I wake up tomorrow this deal should be closed.....right?
