A true veteran member of the PCMR as well. His tongue sharp and his head bald from all the stress he's had to endure to afford the 4090.

None of this trying to run modern games on a mechanical HDD crap.
Nah….. his head is stressed from playing all those RTS on max difficulty.

Well, I'm telling myself that, anyway.

What's with the delay? I hope none of the CMA's reps have hurt themselves in a bid to avoid re-entering the room.

I mean, based on how things played out, thought the FTC and CMA were playing games/working together when they should have been concerned with their own jurisdictions only

If wonder if the negotiations were kept hush-hush because they were, uh, "strongly encouraged" by the Tory government and it would be another embarrassment for them if that got out while it was ongoing.

The fact that they wanted to take things offline and behind closed doors tells me something dodgy has gone on in the background. Then the Judge hit them with the "not in Britannia!" line.

You know where you can shove your pesky chicken strips.

The judge did offer them 15 or 30 minutes. When they said 15, he told them to take longer if they needed. Not surprised they need more time after everything he threw at them.

I can't listen right but judging from everyone's reaction to this judge, the idea that the CMA was all powerful, independent, and, final seems kinda like a load of bs.

Didn't someone say that he implied even if the two party's agreed that he might not?

I am 100% in favour of this being made as painful as possible for both parties so that they don't try to pull this shit again. I suspect now that he's had his bit shout he'll allow the extension, though.

So this guy has to be swayed in order to pause the CAT proceedings?

He's like a dog with a bone here. Both parties want to suspend the appeal and play nice and he's like "nah uh - you started this shit, so now you better do it right".

Actually he might not be the hero we want but the one we need - holding everyone's feet to the fire for playing games with the legal process.

Man I want to see him vs Corley for a celebrity judge smackdown special.

Seems to me the lawyers are literally scrambling to figure out what the fuck to do now.
Yep - doesn't appear that they had a Plan B here - my guess is that they expected that this would be approved rather easily...

I don't think they expected Justice Smith to go full Dredd:

The strategy from both of them has been to delay as much as possible and hope that time runs out. The FTC failed miserably in their attempt, which then put the CMA into panic mode.

is it still on break? I've only seen the brief adjournment screen since I started the stream lol

wondering if its stuck for me ?

edit: ok just back.

Why is the Activision stock going down? From 94 to 92
I'm out. Not going to bother waiting for close to $95.

Thanks you MS, Activision, FTC and CMA.

I wasn't lucky enough to get in when ATVI was dangling in the $60s (it looks like it even dropped to the high $50s!) but got in the low $70s after the deal was announced but due to competition fears the stock was in the $70-80 range for a year. That's around when it was rebounding a bit from the lows due to social media nitwits we're tweeting about corporate culture dragging down the stock and news was everywhere. MS came in during this time looking for a good buy and got it. All those sex scandal articles disappeared. It was a great time to buy.

So in reality for all the times I made fun of attention whores on social media, thanks for airing out your dirty laundry online. That's what tanked activision stock for months dragging it to the $60s when it was $90ish before that.
