All parties saying they have agreed to the deal

Judge saying "Tough shit, you denied it before and haven't given any evidence as to why your mind has been changed"
By the looks of it. I was more prepared showing up on time with all my evidence when I was requested to be at a court case involving a 3 car accident I was in vs MS and CMA.

Its public knowledge?

We don't know shit.

The judge is referring to the Sony deal for CoD and saying that is a major change.

Unfortunately the CMA had a problem with cloud - the Sony deal is irrelevant. Unless MS are also agreeing there is a console SLC after that was erased 🤣

Both the CMA and MS are being pussies over this:

- CMA doesn't want to just concede the 1st argument because they know MS will take the chance to just close and have them deal with it later, not to mention egg on their face.
- MS doesn't want to even give a statement about the new deal to the judge, which makes it look mad sus how they even reached this handshake deal with the CMA.

Somehow the Sony agreement is playing a part in the CMA again?
New COD agreement must have moved on Cloud streaming stuff and was at good terms for Sony, it seems like they had some sort of leverage there.

Very American process.
Ignore the main concern and Cherry pick something else.

I like how the MS lawyer is trying to bombard the judge and make him loose focus and the judge is just like -

"Shut ya fucking mouth. Lets discuss this first point before ya go onto the next"

For me whats interesting is how sensitive this new proposal is. Which makes me think its potentially something quite substantial.

I'm enjoying the frowns on team MS.
This gets me wondering if ABK are planning to take their 3 billion and walk if the deal isn't closed. If it was just a question of time they'd have no cause to be worried, the cost of the delay will surely be less than the cost of the deal failing.

At this point, I think the change might be more significant than just selling off the cloud uk business or whatever.

Something is brewing and the conclusion of this will be dramatic.

Im eyeballing it, but it's only 60 hz refresh. I have never had a pc run at more than a 60 hz screen so I actually want higher tha. That as every core PC gamer has 100+ screens so I'm just trying to tag along not knowing g anything but just copying.

I was looking at this for $1800 CDN.

Same thing im looking at haha. I much prefer a quality screen than higher refresh rate. Laptops struggle to get over 60 at that resolution anyway.

"We are engaging in the MCC process"

Fucking Master Chief Collection strikes again.

But we know it's not what the CMA requested, which was about divesting COD and Activision. MS just made a "COD" deal with Sony.

So if I'm reading this right(?), the CMA wants as a default decision their old deals in place, but if they and MS have anew deal, have the judge just go by the new deal which is WIP?
The CMA doesn't want the fact they are negotiating with MS to reflect on their original decision being inaccurate or wrong but the judge is pressing them saying that the court can't "pause" or wait while the CMA/MS renegotiate if the original deal is something they still stand by. If something has happened that basically makes their original "good" decision now worth negotiating over, what does that say about the decision?

And again the CMA and MS have no deal in place. So the court is pausing for a hope and prayer as far as the court is concerned. Yes, we can all assume that an agreement will be made but there is a possibility no deal is made. At that point, the court would be called upon again after it was asked to sit in the corner and fold its hands and wait. The court doesn't work that way.

Somebody said it earlier and its a great way of wording it. CMA wants to "un-ring" the bell of their decision. They want to stand by it but also renegotiate. It shows that their original decision had some reliance on the FTC being successful and Sony holding out. Both events have pushed the CMA to defend a position they really don't think they can defend and don't want to defend alone. Hence renegotiating. But at this time, they stand by their original decision.

As far as the judge is concerned this makes no sense. And the court is being used as a pawn and the court recognizes it. CMA using the court as a hammer on this merger was a mistake.

Well, I'm firmly convinced that the judge is not for sale. Doesn't mean much though. No matter how much the judge protects the integrity of the institution he works for (by demanding answers like this), I don't see how he can force the CMA to stand behind its prior decision. As much fun as this is for the people for/against the merger, none of this really matters to anyone who won't be working on future mergers that require CMA approval.

One other thing is that Microsoft are in a weird situation, where they are trying to delay a hearing that they themselves pushed for to be expedited.

Fucking hilarious. Clearly some sort of (semi)corrupt deal happened behind the scenes and all these fucking jokers want this judge to be part of it.

Yeah something big is brewing and that's why Sony signed the deal imo.

All he has to do is refuse the extension and schedule the next appeal hearing. Leaves the CMA to square the circle.

You truly think this case is a scam involving both parties and the judge? Wow

I think both parties have reached some sort of a deal and don't want to talk about it, the judge isn't having any of it and wants them to talk about it.

He's literally asking them what happened in the last two weeks and none of them wants to answer.

See, why didn't Microsoft just sit down and appropriately discuss divestment/restructuring when the CMA originally proposed it prior to them making their final decision.

Clown show all round.

I wouldn't call it corruption, it's really just CMA wilting in the face of big business and the court on a sticky wicket. Really they'd all like this wrapped up and forget anything happened.
