Red head (?) behind the glasses-lawyers left shoulder looking kinda cute.

Makes sense, since both party don't want to disclose it.
It's either so major they don't want to disclose because of the impact that to MS or so minor that they don't want to disclose because it would be embarrassing to the CMA.

What a show, they want to stop the appeal to study the new proposal, the judge asks for said "proposal" and it does not exist, so why are you asking to stop anything? It's normal that he's putting pressure on them.

He's thrown out an olive branch and said it can be provided to him in private.

it's a circus show honestly, embarrassing from all parts

Listening to an intelligent man like this makes me realise that I really am just a dumb monkey flinging peanuts.
I think a lot of it is just in the accent. My Scots mixed with southern English just wouldn't cut it.

I figured with how it's seemingly been going that either the CMA would have to say they fucked up or Microsoft would have to share the details of the deal (which they wouldn't want to do publicly).

See, why didn't Microsoft just sit down and appropriately discuss divestment/restructuring when the CMA originally proposed it prior to them making their final decision.

Clown show all round.

Whoever is leading the merger has been committing massive mistakes. We are hours away from the deadline and Microsoft lawyers are being shouted at by a British judge.

I'll be honest. I don't actually know what's going on in this hearing. Maybe it's because I missed the first couple of hours, but it feels like they are just going around in circles.

Microsoft and the CMA are frantically trying to delete the previous order.

The previous order was lawful.

The judge is asking for evidence as to why he should.

No one has any concrete evidence.

It's all just 'trust us bro, we can sort this out'.

They've got some persuading to do unless they can pull something concrete out.

All quite entertaining. Thanks to whoever provided the link btw. 😊

I suspect that the proposal is an undisclosed sale they're not allowed to share. Perhaps the divestment to EE?
Which is the cloud rights.
But because that divestment is too weak, CMA will look like a fool, or the divesment is not good for MS cloud gaming.

Either one is not good for both parties.

Long story short.

CMA and MS want to be able to chat and come to an agreement. They're asking the Judge to allow that.

Judge says there is no evidence that allows him to do so only the "promises" of CMA and MS.

Arrogance and a thorough misunderstanding of how UK systems/civil servants operate.

They are just going around in circles, because the judge has asked for evidence of why the deal should now be accepted, and nobody has the evidence

Microsoft are asking for the deal to be extended, with no actual reason as to why it should be extended, so the judge is rightfully saying "Well why should I do that without a reason"

You can't just walk into a court room and say "The defendant has dropped the charges" without actually showing why, that's open to all sorts of corruption

Crazy how MS is out there bending another regulator based on promises. You either have a comprehensive proposal or not, and why would they be so afraid of being caught in 4K live streaming?

The CMA wants to stand by their decision, circumstances has changed rendering it moot, but they don't want to admit it. Microsoft is playing nice I would suppose because of future deals they may make. Judge is worried about crossing ts and dotting is. He's looking for a way within law to give them what they want, but CMA having acted in bad faith the entire time, trust us bro, is not enough for him.

Don't know what you're talking about, their submissions to the CMA were sound and they were completely reasonable in their tone with them throughout.
