I always get annoyed when people try to argue why you should like something you dont. It just seems so insecure.

I liked GoW 2018 a ton, found Ragnarok boring. Liked Spider Man, found Miles Morales boring. Wasnt very into Horizon 1, TLoU1 at all but enjoyed Uncharted 4. Do people ever argue that you have to like Halo Infinite if you like any FPS games? Ive never seen that. Just odd.

Of course not, in my case I was making an observation of how the things he specifies made him fall out of love with certain games, are somehow things he loves in other games.

I'm sure you didn't find Miles Morales boring because it was third person, nor did you specifically like Halo because it was first person. Just like how even though Uncharted 4 and TLOU are third person and even made by the same studio, you still feel differently about them.

In the end what he tried to do was to spread the same bs you see online, that these games are the same. But obviously, Returnal and TLOU2 are nothing alike, just like God of War and Spider-Man are nothing alike, or Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding.

So when people act like they are all the same, you know where they are coming from.

I feel like the whole point of the persona games is to evoke a sense of "God I wish that were me"

Mostly I just wish I was back in high school during the era of flip phones and had super powers when I play them, rather than wishing I was Japanese.

I don't think user scores and critic scores is an accurate presentation on how most people feel about a game. Most people never bother making accounts on these websites to score a game, and the ones that do tend to lean towards one extreme. Look at TLOU part 2 for example, those scores are just passionate hardcore gamers that lean all the way positive or all the way negative.

More people have played Persona 5 then have played FF16. The critic reviews are better, the user scores are better and it has a 97% positive rating on Steam which I highly doubt FF16 would even touch.

So by every single metric, Persona 5 is rated better and is more popular.

Also if we are bringing logic into this then Pentiment and CoD are completely different games and genres, comparing them is pointless. The FF and Persona players have enormous overlap as both fall into the JRPG genre

I haven't been able to make myself get more than 15 hours into any Persona game, and I've tried them all since part 1. I try to start them, but then I get distracted by all the real life sex I'm having and move onto other games.

1 and 2 are basically an entirely different genre of games compared to 3 onward FYI.

You are 100% correct. Both games are great and most people agree that they are great. But now Persona 5 will be used for the console wars going forward. One wonders if "they" would be using Persona 5 in an argument 2 years ago.....
