Based on what they are doing, its pretty lose. If they mean working on Series X as in... it can support LAST GEN GAMES, its just too much of a flooded and fluff number for most to care.

What I want to know is the number of developers working on Series X as in on games ONLY FOUND on next gen vs "lets list Sega cause a XONE game can play on Series X"

Good for MS. Keep planting the seeds. This is what they needed to do and they seem to be at least TRYING. It won't just bloom overnight but over the course of the long haul these studios hopefully pay off with some great games

Sounds good to me! Looks like my Series X library is going to be huge like in the 360 era.

Maybe, how many of those studios are even making Series X titles and not just listing studios that are doing some enhancement of a XONE game? I'd need a bit more clarification on what they are actually talking about as it wouldn't shock me if they mean "working on Xbox Series X" as in they have a port.....

I am actually not sure what to make of it.

How many of those 150 are doing multiplats?
How did it look last gen?

Not downplaying it or hyping it, just need a reference frame.

White/Bold
37 studios, big ones, with at least some AA+A experience, known IP
Yellow
103 studios small, 1 man devs. releasing 8bit-platformers or unknown to the public in general or too "PC centric" like Wargaming, Asobo ... #GPM

I feel its a pretty nice figure but also still misleading as they are referring to individual studios...

How many "studios" alone are working on AC:Valhalla again??

Fair point overall but underselling a few.

THQ Nordic have a fair catalogue of games including Darksiders.
Kalypso have Tropico
Frontier did Elite amongst others
Focus have Snowrunner, Greedfall, Plague Tale

True. I did though find out that THQ Nordic have acquired Piranha Bytes, yet both are listed separately. Then we got this about THQ Nordic ...

Also, Team17 in yellow? Worms isn't a known series?
Isn't Rocket League from Psyonix?

MS marketing department are really scraping the barrel for new narratives.

First next gen gameplay on XSX today was a no show...and now a list of third parties.

Hope MS first party have something good to show, or Sony, need to see some next gen goodness soon.

What's the definition of a small studio?
Here's a photo of the Dontnod team (best known for Life is Strange). They man not be known for AAA experiences, but it's silly to throw them in with one man in a bedroom developers.

Awesome

I am genuinely glad to hear MS getting solid support on XSX. (but seriosuly who expected less after this gen???).... but I hate this type of flex. Everyone does it and its so disingenuous as half the "partners" never put out squat. I mean just look at Nintendo's similar flex last gen.... yea that one is still sore.

I could make a microwavable pooper scooper and get 100 companies to sign on tomorrow for "potential" support.... you know if it catches on and they can make a mint. No cost to them to be added as a 'partner'

Yes, over 140 studio made XBO games, and may be working on more.
How did it look last gen?
I'd say all of them.
And I bet almost all of them will be cross gen too (the ones they are currently working on, to be released mostly this/next year).

Well, Sony and Nintendo also show similar lists when revealing a new console.

Thats practically guaranteed with 140 studios making games. I mean, god damn...

I'd wish they let their own studios make something they want to make. Not another Halo or Forza. Take risks...

Imagine if Sony forced Naughty Dog to keep making Jak and Dexter games...

Good
Seems Xbox 360 era Is come back
Nah, this is typical of console launches, Sega did the same with the 32X, Atari did it with the Jaguar (these are the ones that pop-up in my head, because they were probably the worst one)... they prop up the potential for a large choice of games, which is fair, and in this case there is no reason to doubt that most will ship at least one game, we expect most third party games to be pretty easy to port between the two.
