Microsoft Becomes Second Company in History Valued Over $4 Trillion After Strong Second Quarter Earnings

Nobody was fired; they were made redundant. One comes with a benefits package; the other you get nothing as you breached your employment contract.
That's absolutely not accurate. You're arguing semantics as though it's cut and dry. A lot of people are immediately terminated without warning and are not necessarily given anything. Getting "fired" does not always mean you were let go for cause. Unless it's specifically stated in your offer letter, you are not automatically given "benefits" as you call it, simply for being let go from your employer. In many cases that's not a thing. For many you are lucky if to get anything beyond your final paycheck.

Why do the green rat troops always cling to Microsoft's wealth? It's worse than the rich kid claiming his parents wealth. At least he is going to inherit it someday.
All of the companies who make the consoles we play on are terrible and rape and pillage the planet for rare minerals, and exploit cheap labor. Enough with the virtue signaling. It's old and tired. If you own any electronic device and/or play videogames, which we all do, you've got nothing to complain about.

Let's dispense with the armor quarterbacking and pretending like we aren't already all living the good life on the backs of the majority of the world's population who are born into poverty and will never know anything else. Enjoy what you have and stop the boring console warring.

If I go 50 years without ever hearing or seeing the extremely cringe "green rat troops" it won't be long enough. Yikes, dude.

Microsoft was hired by IBM (when IBM was king) to provide them with an operating system, DOS. What made Microsoft, was that IBM didn't require the operating system to be exclusive to them. When home computers started taking off, you had Macs or IBM compatibles. If you wanted to make an IBM compatible to sell, you had to use Microsoft's operating system. I think Microsoft went public in 86, and in 87 the cost of a microsoft share was in the 20s. (Disclaimer: The above is from my faulty memory).

Did you read what I responded to? Green rat troops wasn't my label. I used green rat troops because of the person I was responding to. You're calling someone out for virtual signaling with that little rant?

It was me guys, my last purchase tipped them over the edge of trillions. I bought a Windows 11 home, a Flight Sim steelbook and almost preordered the Starfield artbook.

Unironically Nvidia has one of the lowest turnover rates in SV

Nvidia doesn't hire that often, and people who allowed into the club stay forever

It's the better way to do it. Most top tech went through a ridiculous hiring frenzy when sars2 first hit and it was only a matter of time before a correction.

Nvidia is doing it right..

Let this be a prime example of why you should buy real estate, start a business and seek passive income.

Working for any company, even the biggest in the world is not a safe end game. I don't fucking care how many degrees you have, how many years you worked in IT etc.

I have a degree (as of this spring) and worked in IT for over a decade.

I buy real estate and will continue to buy real estate and focus on independent work, even while working for a great company, because this company managed this feat and still laid off people and has plans to lay off more...

One of my favorite things my father states to me "Son, that is not your company, that is THEIR company, THEIR business is making money, not providing you a paycheck" Anyone in this industry needs a plan B, because Google, Apple, MS, Facebook etc, they have their focus on making bank, you should too and its not continuing to work hourly cause those that own those company are not doing that to create that wealth.

You are doing that to create it for them...

The public owns Microsoft. If you own shares, they work for you.
