Doesn't exactly sound like a franchise they were ready to kill. It's pretty obvious MS made the deal between E3 and now. Good for them I guess. Bad for SE being so willing to screw over their fans. Really shame over them.

I would think it is:

SE said many times that TR didn't make profits until the PS4/X1 version was out. Then I think SE is looking for partner to fund it or at least fund part of costs.

Then MS came in and won the exclusive right.
