if SP4 hits it out of the park, I may be selling my SP3+rMBP.

SP3 (1.5 months old) is the i5/256/8GB and the rMBP is the late 2013 512/16 GB. Wonder how much I would get for both?

Hopefully the top of the line SP4 would still be around $2,000 as I would probably break even selling my old stuff or at worst only need to add a few hundred.

SP4 with 14" screen, 16 GB RAM, Skylake, 512 GB drive and better stylus around $2,000 would probably push me in this direction.

I see too little hype for the Band 2.
I'm terribly hyped for it, I hope it becomes the first fitness band that's really worth it.
The original Band had an amazing array of sensors, but it was definitely a sort of commercial prototype, and it wasn't even released in more than a couple of countries.
The Fitbit Up3 looked very good to me, but it arrived late and with compromises.

I'm really looking forward to the Band 2. If it's more comfortable, at least maintains the same sensors and is water-proof, it's gonna be mine for sure.

Been interested in getting myself a Surface Pro for sometime.

Also any chance of anything Xbox related? Hoping for some info on the new UI release date.

My wife is rocking a Surface RT and hinted that she would like a new tablet for her birthday. As much as I would love to hand her my Surface Pro 3 and get the SP4 for myself I don't think that would fly. It's too much of a premium device to upgrade only after a year and a half. Besides my SP3 is still running like a champ.

A fanless option that's a bit lighter would be great for SP4.

Yeah, you will probably see some Xbox released stuff. But I don't think you should expect something major.

Please microsoft, have the king kong in the OT climb one of those buildings with Ninja Cat

Hear Hear! I'm hyped too. It seems like it could be the first device that actually blends a smart watch/device with health-fitness monitor in a way that just makes it seem natural.

We are told there is something Xbox there

But as always... May be a minor announcement. Or just a mention.

Yeah but the price is prohibitive and professionals won't be able to run programs they are already familiar with. They should have made a MacBook in tablet form with stylus support. That would have really hurt the surface.
There is next to no reason for an average iPad user to upgrade to the giant iPad and they didn't go all out for the professionals that would love what I have just described. Its a half response to surface which will likely sell like crazy cause its a new Apple thing.

I'm in two minds. Making OSX stylus friendly would be a ton of work. Leveraging the manic developer base to bring new apps to ios instead is arguably less effort for more reward.

Plus this way Apple potentially get a wider addressable market - if you're buying it as a creation tool, you can sell it to people that have PCs and Macs.

As for 'professional apps' - as I've said before, professional just means tools that people use for work. There are lots of professional tools on ios already, and I see no reason why ipad pro couldn't become a great tool for professionals to use to augment their existing setup

I guess we'll see. I think there is a lot of potential there and it'll be interesting to see what software comes out for it.

Please let the release be close to the announcement for the pro 4, I can't wait any longer ;;

I think the most recent rumor was saying end of October release (previously I was seeing early November). But... rumormill is extremely dry with the SP4 so we should probably just wait at this point!

I wonder if Microsoft will release a $99 stylus.

I was thinking about that earlier. The current one is $50 right? I could see them keeping that around for people that just use OneNote and have an "art stylus" for $99.
