Delusional much? lol
wut ? bethesda is owned by microsoft ...i don't ask for naughty dog to release games for xbox....and is stupid to think sony would do it. Microsoft have more user reach than Sony with windows + console + xcloud and bethesda is their first party . get your conclusion .

Playstation userbase is as big as Xbox, if not bigger, Microsoft is not dumb to let go of that money.
Like I said in previous threads, Microsoft will probably make games like Elder Scrolls exclusive for a period of time, and then release it on Playstation after that period.

Microsoft want a bigger user base, how do you do that? By keeping the games exclusive period

I guess we're really about to test the whole I can just play it on my PC hand waving, in the next few years huh.

The thing is we don't know what they are going to do and what makes sense for MS. Maybe they would want to "eat" some damage and make some games exclusive.Or maybe timed-exclusive. Or maybe they will keep them multiplatform for the reasons you say.

Like i said Spencer's statement is once again very vague and no one can know what will happen in the future other than the things we already knew (like for games such as Death Loop,Ghostwite,ESO.Fallout76).

I see someone getting a bit aggressive, and desperately needs play some games.
I'm sorry if I looked aggressive to you. sorry. I'll be more careful. But you will understand that this was a controversial topic especially after many fanboys have gone to the charge against ms because according to them (I don't know why) Microsoft spent 7.5 billion to make users of a competing platform happy you will understand by yourself ..was ridiculous just to think so. Today the famous crows have been served

Not when the games are your own. Do you think God of war will come to xbox?

God of War doesn't have a proven fanbase/published history on Xbox. Not to mention no staff and infrastructure already geared to support the platform, from publishing through tech support and QA!

its a huge difference.

Make games exclusively for devices with Gamepass is vague to you?

Ok if you want to play that card then do you see Spider-Man coming to xbox?

he said very clearly that the acquisition is made to leverage their platform (xbox ) and for exclusives. what it mean for you?

Don't worry they will find out how to dismiss that tech support and qa.

Lol if this wasnt GAF i would almost be shocked by the level of mental gymnastics people are going thru right now. They are going to almost all be exclusive other than already signed deals, and MMO games like FAllout 76 and ESO.

How much cleared do you guys need him to be? Does he need to list every new and existing franchise one at a time for you to get it?" They bought Bethesda for a reason, exclusive content. They dont need the extra sales from Doom on ps5 anymore than Sony needs GOW sales from xbox. This entire discussion should be over. It really is that clear.

Ok if you want to play that card then do you see Spider-Man coming to xbox?

Insomniac was never a publisher. Not to mention that they've never developed that franchise for anyone but Sony.

Their entire involvement with Xbox was a blip basically.

Spider-Man games were a multi platform games befor sony made it exclusive, so by your account it should be multi platform or does that only work when Microsoft make games that are now exclusive but should be multiplatform

Bethesda games are not what they used to be, so I'm not exactly rushing to buy an Xbox just to play their future games.

Are you dumb or are you pretending to be dumb?

No one said that they will not make ANY exclusives for GP that would have been idiotic. But will these exclusives be new IPs? Will they be old IPs that were previously on other platforms as well (like TES for example)? Will they be timed-exclusive? Nothing in Spencer's words is clear about that and that's what is allowing his fanboys to spin his words.

What exactly is NOT vague for you?

But you cant compare £80 for a game and then say £180 without the context behind it
The context is that you pay more in one go for a single game license without a time limit, or much more over time to maintain temporary access to more games.

I don't like the price hike either, just to be clear. So I have not been buying anything at the new "standard price" either.

Damn the denial is just surreal they had an almost two hour round table and not one time was Sony and PlayStation ever said. Since this has all started not one time has MS or Zinemax said Sony or PlayStation.

Don't flip-flop. The question was asked what's the difference, so I spelled it out.

The point you seem to be ignoring is that its not about whether they can, its the rationale why they should or should not.

I've been straight from the start that MS can do whatever they want at any time, because that's the benefit of ownership. I've just outlined a bunch of pragmatic reasons why and how they would opt to approach this from a business-first, as opposed to PR standpoint.

Yeah but the price quote of £180 is over a year and access to a hell of a lot of games. The games are also available to buy to so there is choice.

the price hike ain't great i agree, now sony have done it i can see Microsoft following suit

Licensed properties tend to move around! Like when MS made Tomb Raider "exclusive". How long did that last and how much success did that yield? Hmmm?

So now its about licensing? So it seems its ok when sony make games for them selves or they get "licence" for exclusive games or even buy a studio that had a BLIP with xbox ,but when xbox want to make games exclusive to their console its not ok?

I am one of those people that don't care about exclusive deals. Sony paid a licensing fee + royalties to Marvel. Marvel wants a minimum guarantee + a percentage of sales/revenue. Sony gives them that. Marvel doesn't care how Sony makes it work or where they release the game on as long as they get their money.

Same principle applies to EA and Star Wars, Ubisoft and Star Wars, Square Enix and Avengers, and Bethesda and Indiana Jones.

Question is will people be fine if and when Indiana Jones is revealed to be exclusive to XBox and Gamepass? I expect to see a lot of double standards when that happens.

You brought up Spiderman as a straw man, so I just knocked it down.

You're a child. I'm not wasting anymore time on your foolishness.

Not at all, no straw man. I provided a fact but you didn't like the comparison that Spider-Man games had been on other consoles and now they are not

spiderman is my fave ps4 game btw

they will do everything t leverage their platform and weaken those rivals and this mean not supporting other platform exactly like Sony is doing with their games and their first party. Bethesda is now 100% xbox first party.
Go on twitter and see the answer Spencer gave to Parris to understand that bethesda games will be exclusive to ms. period.

They were clear. People are just searching for glimpses of hope because they refuse to believe this is happening.

Aaron Greenberg posted on twitter the quote that specifically highlighted the exclusive comment from Phil which really

What he actually did say is this:

This is obviously about games like Death loop and Ghostwire Tokyo. Everyone already knew that they were going to honor those contracts and deals that were made in the past.
Next:

This is obviously about games like ESO and Fallout 76. We also knew that these games would comtinue to be platform so there's still nothing new about what he said.

And finally when he could have ended this easily and make everything clear he say this:

Legacy on other platforms could mean many things and this is exactly where people like you and other fanboys like Stuart360pretend that it's very clear when it really isn't.

Games like TES,Fallout,Doom and many others all have history on Playstation as well. That what "Legacy" means or at least it could mean. Once again he's talking with riddles and half-words.
It's really beyond me how you and the rest of the xbox fanboys in this site managed to be so sure about something so vague.

Btw i've said many times that i DO hope and wish ALL Bethesda games remain 100% exclusive to Xbox. This is because 1) i never cared about any of Bethesda's or Zenimax's games and 2) because even though i personally don't care i do realize they are big franchises and that will really put some fire into Sony's pants. And we all know that competition is good.

But just like i expected there was nothing today that made this situation any more clear than before.
Exactly xbox fans going crazy over nothing, i also want all new bethesda games to be exclusive to xbox, so we can finaly get some competition for sony, but im still confused as what new games will be exclusive and what games will come to playstation and other platforms. Why is it so hard to say all new games going forward are exclusive to xbox and pc. Simple and clear.

No, you expand your userbase by making your games as widely available as possible.

Both Sony and Microsoft are not interested in another console generation because there are almost no benefits anymore, especially since consoles have become somewhat similar to a general purpose PC.

Short term strategy is locking access to their current console hardware for a limited time, to reward people that have bought their console.
Their long term strategy is expanding their userbase, and they will achieve this by making the games available on other platforms (not locking users to a specific piece of hardware).

Sony seems only interested in porting to PC, while Microsoft will likely port their more popular franchises (Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom) to PS5 after some period of time.
Obviously, Microsoft will not port franchises that are strongly associated with Xbox (such as Halo, Fable and Age of Empires) to PS5.

Why doesn't sony port their games to xbox if that is the case?

End of the day these games are now exclusive to Microsoft and if you want to play them you buy and xbox or pc. That's a hell of a user base right there, just because ps has over 100 mill PS4's doesn't mean they all buy the games.

Microsoft make money on selling consoles and windows licences to so its a win win

How often was steam or nintendo talked about? Elders Scroll gonna skip steam confirmed?

Possibly (probably) timed exclusivity on Game Pass/Microsoft Store on PC, but considering MS is actively putting out games on Steam right now, I don't see a world where it never comes out there.

What does steam have to do with the conversation? Steam isn't on PlayStation. It is on Windows PCs. The existing MMO elders scroll will be on PlayStation. None of this is difficult to understand.
