Exactly that's what I've been (hopefully) saying too. If it's not Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo, Fallout '76 expansions or Elder Scrolls Online expansions, there doesn't seem to be any native ports coming for PS5 or Switch since GamePass is non-existent on those platforms (and even if it were, they would be streaming-only versions through Xcloud).
The only other game of the known lot I'd speculate may have a native PS5 port is the Indiana Jones title but that's only if LucasArts Games is handling the publishing. Even then it may be likely Microsoft could've set up a deal with them for timed exclusivity (there's a very slight chance Sony could've done so as well, but given they already have Uncharted I think them doing it would be perceived as a slap in the face to Naughty Dog and that franchise and they don't want to upset their own 1P devs by supporting competing IP with explicit timed exclusivity deals).
Starfield...I actually think there
may be a PS5 native version at some point in development. But I think if that's the case, that version is more or less dead. Sony weren't able to secure timed exclusivity on it, and Microsoft's made it pretty clear IMO that native games are only destined for Xbox consoles (Series X and S) and PC; anywhere else will be via streaming through GamePass Xcloud. There's a slight chance Starfield could fall in the category of "future legacy support" though; maybe they decide to release the PS5 version anyway like a year after it comes out on Xbox and PC and through GamePass.
That though is a very low probability of occurring at this point, don't think anyone should be placing bets on it happening.
If today's been good for anything, it's been in exposing the latent fanboy/fangirl-driven meltdowns on that forum for the internet to see, and low-key it's been glorious. Seriously, the worst meltdowns, they've been in Era threads. You'd think 2016 was happening again going by some of the stuff happening over there now that reality over this deal is settling in xD.
This user's post for instance is just one long self-righteous, posturing, hypocritical Twitlonger. Yeah, now they care about "too much capitalism" and "market consolidation". Then they just contradict themselves saying they defended Disney-Fox merger and literally show they have no education on the Zenimax situation because if they knew better they'd do a little research to know Zenimax were in the market to sell. This person's acting like Microsoft bullied their way into buying the company against its will.
I'm not saying there haven't been meltdowns here, too, but at least we can chop it up and clown one another or have an open debate over what may or may not be the case anymore and (generally) not worry about getting banned or scared with a threat of ban from having real discussion. Over there? You're in a minefield any word could be your last
. It's been fun seeing the meltdowns there basically boil to people who want to appear virtuous in arguing the deal as a violation of ethical principals while showing they've had zero issues supporting similar business practices from other companies only months ago. Wonder what changed....
