During the holiday sales season, Microsoft also offered massive discounts on its Xbox Series consoles, with Xbox Series X only for $399.

The Xbox Black Friday 2022 deals continue, and this time we've got a particularly bizarre one to report! If you're in the US and you've never bought anything from the "Instagram Shop" before, you can get 20% off the Xbox Series X or S.

This technically means you can get the Xbox Series S for $199.99 or the Xbox Series X for $399.99,

Xbox Series X is selling only for $399 on the Microsoft Instagram store, the price is $100 less than the usual price, and it is the best deal; if you are willing to jump into the actual next-gen experience, Xbox Series X has it all with the latest hardware and technology.

I am hearing reports that the Series is sold out as of an hour and a half ago after a restock, but I can't verify this since I already have a Series X and have no interest in using Instagram.

However, this is a hail mary right here MS is going all in. $399 two days before black friday starts (starts late thanksgiving on thursday ironically) who knows what the Thursday and BF sales will be during the actual time frame at the last second. Holy smokes.

$399 Series X and a $199 huge deal on Instagram for now, but who knows if these prices will spread by that door busting period.

I say it's a safe bet Xbox will be the leasing consoles in the US once November is over. Insanity. I hope that MS prepared a lot of stock for the day of and that they haven't been using their main BF stock before BF, because if they want to take advantage of the demand they are going to need as much as possible.

Tons of games. BC and Gamepass keeping us busy. Plenty of 3rd party releases and some nice gems that are still fun to play. Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 5 and Gears MP come to mind.

Plus Goldeneye sometime soon. and again, BC includes so many good games to go through.

VLC isn't maintained but you can download Kodi (aka XBMC on the original Xbox) from the MS Store. It works very well and supports all the main features of the PC version. Including 24hz output which kinda surprised me.

The Series consoles are fan-fucking-tastic at emulation.

Because as Thirty7ven succinctly pointed out, it doesn't make sense to subject a "coveted" premium console to be subjected to ANY sort of promotion under the current economic environment. I had a feeling this could be the case when Phil Spencer said "Demand hasn't really gone down" for their consoles. Very clever with his words, but I gave him benefit of the doubt. I have no doubt in my mind this is about not looking foolish when post holiday figures get published; they have every right to be concerned with the release of GoW Ragnarok. But the appropriate counter is to release games, not price your premium console at a discount. It's just very annoying from a gamer perspective that they continue to focus on the wrong things.

They are business. They wont hold their system down, because people like you want "demand" and retail price. They need customers who spend money on their system.

In current economy, making your system cheap actually attracts consumers to your system. You dont even need demand for that, when the price tag sells the console by itself.

Having those systems on the consumers hands benifits them alot. They have the chance to get new customers, new gamepass members, and most importantly, people would buy the games on their store.
That is the most important for MS.

They practically gave away the One S last generation and that didn't translate to much even though GamePass existed then as well. It reminds me when Sony announced upping the price of PS5,. and people on here were giving Microsoft more shit for NOT upping the price than they were giving Sony for upping the price of PS5.
