This. There's a lot of Vita bashing also, PS3 gaf just happen to be a bit more passionate.

Yeah it's like people all of a sudden forgot the first ~3 years of this generation. Last I knew it wasn't 360 who was in the "has no game" joke comic.

Yeah, it's bollocks really. There are people who certainly favor specific platforms, but for the most part, people seem to call out shittiness, regardless of their preference of box.

It's kind of funny to see people defending Microsoft. They've earned the lack of trust over new IP's. The last new core IP they published was Alan Wake in 2010, and before that you have to go back to 2008 to find stuff like Lost Odyssey and Too Human. And the list for Kinect based IP's is fairly decent long, even if a lot of those games are based on existing non-gaming properties.
They have done a decent job bringing out new stuff on XBLA, but those aren't AAA or even AA titles. So people are justified in their skepticism.

I was thinking more about what they see as their rivals key games/genres and what they can do to beat it.
1) Uncharted/Last of Us. A big cinematic action game for next-gen consoles? I am sure MS must be thinking up something like Uncharted but for 720. Like Uncharted was, they are great games to showcase fancy tech. Maybe they will moneyhat 1313 or possible Samaritan becomes that type of game?
2) Zelda. MS never really had a good rival to Zelda. Maybe Fable was supposed to be that but they starting moving in a very weird direction with it.
3) F-Zero/Wipeout. Time to bring back Extreme-G! I know they tried making their own sci-fi racer but they never have the same stick as F-Zero and Wipeout did.

I think ppl will downplay it whatever happens. There will always be a reason. For example say all xbox have Kinect 2 and the game happens to use Kinect 2 in parts. . . ppl will trash it no end. Even if it's really good.
Merely highlighting things like this gets you called a butthurt fanboy with a persecution complex from what I've read.
Vita doom threads have only come about after it became clear that the system had tanked - GAF was nothing but positive about the vita prior to the release of the initial sales figures, after which it would be stupid to label the vita as anything other than a colossal failure.
Microsoft haven't had any commercial failures on that scale, yet are met with the same amount of enmity and hostility.
Actually, Banjo Racing or something in a similar vain to Diddy Kong Racing would be awesome. I am guessing they may have missed that boat with Sonic Racing, LBP-Karts etc already out.

Considering it's a Microsoft owned IP and that Microsoft has a 1st party racing game and 2nd party racing game I doubt they are going for another 2nd party anytime soon. If I'm Patcher I promise not to tweet or analyze anything again...

If they can deliver on the Milo demo aspects of Kinect that would be pretty cool I think.
Having a truly dynamic conversation with NPC's in say Fallout 4 would be really cool. Coupled with the Oculus Rift this would be epic win IMO.

I don't think MS is going to money hat a ton of games for the next gen... I think they're going to leverage more out of the "entertainment" side of things and would rather build strong new IPs that they outright own.
I think they have the racing side covered with Turn 10, but if I had to guess some sort of RPG would probably be a good bet, unless its kinect stuff.
Nah, it's something about the PGR director is at the Motorstorm studio, and they're making a similar game for launch, something like that.

That's the clear way for Microsoft to get me to buy Sony's system, assuming Sony doesn't do the same thing.
I think the next step for Kinect is to split it up into two(or even three) cameras at two(to three) separate viewing angles to allows it to pick up more movement and have a clearer picture.

that's really is a problem around these parts, there's no room for optimism. i thought the first page will be full of happiness and joy that finally MS is at least introducing new IP's for the nextbox. A thing that were unsure of given their strategy at the end of the 360's lifecycle. but no, people scream kinect this kinect that and ps4 blows nextbox away in terms of power. trying to downplay other unrevealed consoles or wii u because its already the year of the ps4.
are people here from the future? lets shit on MS or Sony or maybe Nintendo after they've shown what they have for this year.

Why do you not see it launching with a Forza title? If Turn 10 keeps up with their development cycle they'll have even extra time before Xbox 720 launches than they usually do, Forza Motorsport 5 is most definitely a launch title.

GAF is hyper critical and does a good job at jumping on the shortcomings of all 3 consoles. If you start questioning whether GAF is pro/anti any platform, it might be you who has the agenda.
That said, this is good news but its not like Microsoft has instilled trust in recent years. With the exception of Horizon, their recent output has been fairly stagnant. Hopefully they start off next generation the same way they started off the 360.

You mean that past efforts of taking every single 3rd party game that was bound to be exclusive to the Ps3 and made it so it was available on their console too?
Ms last gen didn't just had to develop their own games, they also had to bring games that were a given on Ps3.
And they did this while publishing some of the best games of this generation.
I honestly cannot see how that a company that fought all the way to bring every possible content to their console does not inspire confidence.

You should check out some of those Vita threads... Or PS3 threads from 2007... GAF leans on the company that actually delivers some core games and that has been Sony for couple of years now. It's not that hard to understand when you consider that this is GAMING forum.
