And with the backing of China and India
Backing from India in what way?

They (the government) have been basically being neutral for the whole conflict.

The hard right does seeming support Russia which i think is related to their conflict with China and their nationalistic tendencies.

I agree with some of these measures but where is the outrage when it was happening in Syria or Palestine. Double standard is unreal.
The US putting sanctions on Israel??
Spider Man Lol GIF

To rise, protest and overthrow the shitty government, easy as that.
Indeed. We'll start building the air transports and landing ships so that we can get to the continent where the shitty government is and overthrow it once we're done with the current issue.

get out your cave and join the real world.
The real world being one controlled by the US, and stepping out of line is punishable by all this. No thanks.

Dozens will be disappointed.

Anyway, every company will do something similar.

You say that and yes the US are fucking weak as shit when it comes to Israel but they did sanction the NSO Group but obviously probably cause the NSO Group did no good to the US govt.

Oh, man. If you think about it US invaded several countries and never ever got any kind of sanction. Maybe Putin had similar thoughts as you and now he's getting rekt and pulling Russia with him.

Wouldn't have been prepared for apocalyptic sanctions if that were the case. Honestly, it's like people believe that Russia literally knows nothing, and that what they see on Twitter is all that is happening. Our intelligence services don't have a habit of posting to social media to rile up popular support, is the thing.

Oh, sure. I believe Russia has the best intelligence service in the world. Russia is not a pushover, just saying US is no weak victim, even if their leaders seems so.

MS has a lot of important services which are subscription based.

I think its more that “Russia fucked up and is being completely isolated from the global economy.” This is a good show of what can happen to an economy should you try to extend your borders illegally.
This is ultimately good for Russia as it will eliminate their reliance on the west completely.

Yeah this is a scary precedent.

All our online work tools can be disconnected in a minute.

Yes, if it belonged to Russia.

But what has changed? Look at China, they control what you do and don't see. Just because they have the power (Which they've always had) doesn't mean they will. I don't get why suddenly this is a concern. We must do whatever is possible to avoid WWIII.

Of course we must.

My point was that how fragile our entire digital workplace environment can be and how we're at the whim of a few big organizations between order and anarchy.

I know it's because of sanctions and all but now it's actually the russian people getting screwed and say whatever you want there is an interest in fuckin Russia's economy besides the war, also how long before Putin pushes the red button I doubt he's gonna give up easily.

If China boycotts us it would completely destroy our country. We get literally everything from them.

So when China invades Taiwan, if we do anything, they completely shut our economy down. That includes the hardware and slave labor these big tech companies use.

They shut down their own economy at the same time if all those factories go dark. And China is the top US importer, but hardly the only one.

Get rekt Russia, glory to Ukraine!Hope valve blocks russians IPs too. Yes it hurts their general population, but its time a revolution took place in that hellhole.
The only revolution will be us becoming the first country to officially legitimize software piracy. (Or maybe second? Not sure how China is w/r to that.)
Russia will endure. Always has, always will.

They can gut it. They have manufacturing, we don't.

If the USD isn't the global currency we won't be able to offset our inflation to the global market. When we print twice our entire currency in a year, we won't be able to avoid hyperinflation. It would literally destroy our economy.

Like any law enforcement gives a shit about piracy in Russia now. Go on ahead a pirate an xbox then😅😅. Russia will endure these sanctions indeed until one of their government officials grows a backbone.

So that people inside that country turn on their leaders when they see what they're losing.

Sanctions don’t do anything. It’s a hard pill to swallow given that sanctions are constantly touted as the “peaceful” alternative to martial solutions. But sanctions have literally never gotten meaningful results. Sanctions and embargoes on Cuba,Iran, and North Korea have done literally nothing but punish citizens and give the US the “right” to attack and seize legal material in international waters.

It shouldn’t be up to tech companies. The United States is still buying oil from Russia. NoBody cares about that though.
Yes we do. That is another thing that needs addressing.

If your news outlets don’t care, find better (and more honest) sources for your news

This is getting stupid. All this hurts the general population much more than Putin and his goverment.
Yes, but it gives all the power to the countries government to change. They can then do the right thing to help their citizens or continue on showing they give no fucks about them. Understand who's actually hurting the citizens of Russia more than "Evil MS?"

But we all know Putin can't back out now and look like the bitch he actually is, so he's fine with his actions fuckin over his citizens.

I mean if they wanted to commit financial suicide. Economy runs on exports, not imports, it just means that we can't get certain products and we'll either have to make our own, or not get the product, but it is China that is losing the sale/busting their own economy. 🤷‍♂️

I hope all these virtue signalling companies keep the same energy for China when they invade Taiwan.

Also why didn’t these do the same when US invaded and caused havoc in the Middle East?
Or how about when China returns the favor to us. "We don't like how you are treating black people over there in the US, so we're going to stop sending all of the goods we manufacture over there."

This has every bit a chance of making the people get behind Putin as much as it does turning the populace away from them. Instead of making the people want to get out there and overthrow him, it could make them feel like the West are trying to twist their arm, and deprived of everything else, they could very well get behind him. What do you think all of those military age young men are going to want to do when the economy is collapsing, there's nothing for them to do and the military and government are the only ones eating?

Russia is still way more integrated (well it was) to the west, so this could do a difference, certainly their citizens will feel it. It's the only power countries have, to avoid WW3 and punish Russia as a whole.

US citizen here…

…this is BULLSHIT!

The Russian civilians cannot overthrow the fucking government. Stop with that shit! Fake news, bullshit, lies, etc.

Treating the citizens of Russia this way is wrong. US companies need to fuck off and stay in their lane.

While we're at it, stop manufacturing and doing business in China, what with Hong-Kong and the Uyghurs and all.
Or maybe they'll wait for China to invade Taiwan first lol

Then maybe after that western countries can stop buying oil from Russia.

Fucking bad take dude, how do you get up in the morning? This is war, not some random disagreement.

Yesterday I saw a video of a tank destroying a civilian car, inside a old man, today they bombed a nuclear power plant (adm buildings but still...)

About the tank. It was an old Ukranian Strela-10 tank and it was an accident. Thankfully the old man survived with no major injuries.

China has a growing middle class. It's always better to be an exporter than an importer.

Our economy would implode before we had the manufacturing ability to produce what we need. Look at all the medical supplies we were reliant on importing from China in the last two years.

Given what the Ruble is worth currently, dont think luxury goods are in the cards for most....this is just a symbolic gesture (same for any company really) because sales would essentially be down to zero anyway.
