Nah, I'm ok. I'm not even a hardcore xbox fan. I haven't owned a 360 in two years becasue I refused to buy another one and I've been gaming on my PS3/wii u and PC. It's just sad that there can't be an xbox community here. You can't go into any thread but this one and actually talk about anything. *shrug* Well, I guess you can go to the community side and talk halo but i'm not really a halo fan lol.. but I think you get the point.

It just gets old.

Been quiet in here though, relatively. Maybe after E3 we can make an Xbox Thread and slum it with the Community second class citizens.

The usual suspects shitting up an Xbox thread? Quelle suprise.

Though I confess that it's tiresome and just a little questionable that mods would join in (no prizes for guessing which) it really shouldn't bother anyone, E3 is in 6 days and it's going to be insane.

You don't expect the same to happen during E3?

Come on son.

Thought I feel E3 will bring a lot of good things for those excited for X1, will there be a thread to chat about that? This thread and the reveal thread are the only two that arnt awful to read, I can't see anything changing after E3 even if they impress with games.

Forum has a strong Sony bias. Once you realise this, you start to not really care how threads are derailed, trolled, etc. You'll not find many people willing to acknowledge that publicly, which is a shame as it gives the false impression the forum is balanced, when it's pretty clear it's not.

Yeah, that's fine. It's fine for people to have their own preferences, but how is any meaningful or interesting conversation supposed to happen when the thread title can turned into a joke at any time? The difference is that the title is presented and people have their say one way or another, but when it's changed to something silly like that the well is poisoned as soon as someone sees it. They know it's another "let's shit on the One" thread.

Really? Why would they do that? Mod-sanctioned trolling only emboldens people like Psycho Mantis to keep acting like petulant 12 year olds. Are you sure the guy that created the thread didn't just write it as a joke?

Miles did the original thread. I'm pretty sure it wasn't that.

I didn't. I was actually going to ask who did it and the complain the change was unnecessary as the info was somewhat interesting, but thought better of it, lest it be seen as 'whining'.

Well said and I absolutely agree.

I guess slumming it on GFAQ for years has desensitised me to the trolling, etc. Doesn't really bother me any more, I'll try to engage the ones who are up for a discussion or simply not bother posting in that thread any more.

That's true, but it's hard to actually filter through all that stuff sometimes. And if you see the same avatars all the time as well it's all getting a bit weird. I guess it's E3 time alright... or something. I hope.

not so ninja edit: I mean that title change did not even let a discussion happen, it turned the topic around - I can't believe this is the intention of neogaf discussions.

I apologize then. This is the opposite of the picture that was painted by the head of Neogaf on the gametrailers documentary. You don't build a community by willfully alienating a large segment of it.

PM the mods/admins, usually I get decent responses when I do.

There's only two mods on right now, one of which is the person who changed the thread title.

I'd be inclined to PM Evilore, but there's honestly little point, thread shitting is encouraged simply by the fact it's allowed to happen anyway. It stymies all sensible and reasonable discussion and makes this forum just as bad as other infamous internet cesspools.

you need have a thicker skin. if someone on a gaming message board is getting under your skin, I can't imagine how you will survive in real life

It doesn't necessarily have to be getting under his skin, no need to be patronising. People come here for discussion, that isn't what's happening. Hence people are annoyed by it.

It's just weird to see it. You'd think the people in charge would want to foster a friendly environment for fans of all consoles. But now I'm starting to understand why the people in the OT sports threads talk about never coming over to the gaming side of the site.

you need have a thicker skin. if someone on a gaming message board is getting under your skin, I can't imagine how you will survive in real life

If real life had an ignore option, I'd use it there. Why waste time on people with tiny minds?

It's not about getting under one's skin, not at all. I am here to be able to talk about things I like and if I have to filter through offtopic stuff or the same gifs quoted over and over again to actually get to some decent discussion, it all is getting a bit frustrating.

It isn't whining, it's just NOT right to accept the bash after bash with one line unfunny and not helpful posts shitting any interesting discussion. Sad to assemble around just one thread 'cause every other there are the SSS team bashing and mocking everything.

What if its OR support. I wouldn't care much myself but I could see some people being happy about that because then more games on pc would support it.

Just found out I've got the day off. I'm super ready.

I hope MS do something of a U turn on the DRM stuff. It's going to be hard for me to justify a purchase if I can't freely sell on second hand games.

Lol sure it does. Thats why the Vita gets trolled. I thinks it time you faced the truth that a lot of the people who hate the xbox one are 360 owners, ps3 owners, wii owners......gamers in general. This persecution complex I see from Vita fans, WiiU fans and now Xbox one fans is getting old.

At the end of the day were talking about videogames. No one should be personally insulting you as that is against the TOS. Sometimes its best to just look back and realise why you enjoy gaming.

Really? Why would they do that? Mod-sanctioned trolling only emboldens people like Psycho Mantis to keep acting like petulant 12 year olds. Are you sure the guy that created the thread didn't just write it as a joke?

Using personal insults to make your point to a mod undermines your point.

This is actually funny considering the position I hold in my real life.

But I think you're missing the point. People want to have discussion - and when you're drowned out by a GOOD number of people and how fast some threads go, it's annoying. We're not crying, pouting, shitting up any other thread. But when a game is announced on XB1 - and peoples sole purpose of being is to come in, dot gif the thread, one liners about tv - sports - movies - etc, and it has nothing to do with the actual thread (and you can look at a mod that does this) it's disconcerting and sad that the current state of affairs allows for this to happen.

I came to gaf back in 2008 but lurked since 2005 because despite the trolling then, there was an xbox community and a PS community and a nintendo community. I came from the teamxbox where it sucked... This place was pretty decent. It could be biting and entertaining - and people would jab at all things gaming... but lately starting with nintendo wii u - those fans have been shoved into their tiny little corner of gaf - who don't venture out to discuss with the rest of us. It's now happened to the xbox community - and it doesn't hurt that a giant portion were all banned (which I would be curious to see who did the actual banning). There is a giant influx of jr's who all seem pro sony which is OK. I'm okay with that. But, this is essentially a sony board... Nobody wants that. Discussion takes a back seat to sonsole warriors.

I'm done. I don't even think I"m making sense anymore lol.

Uhm, we all enjoy gaming, and talking about games. It does not help that often we can't talk about games because threads are getting completely derailed (like this one now too, heh). It was hard to get any decent Kinect game discussion going and it's only getting worse now :/

the forum does not have a sony bias. Just go in to the Digital Foundry last of us thread...pc extremists are out in full force. same goes for beyond and even the last of us review thread (people hoping it will get low scores so they can laugh or whatever).

also forgot about killzone shadow fall and how it looks like a ps3 game.

I think the Nintendo brotherhood is the strongest on neogaf.

Pyscho_Mantis I really didn't expect you to agree/understand. You're not even listening to the reason why Xbox fans are annoyed.

Also Xbox 360 fans are not spouting 'lol kinect ect' that's the sign of someone reveling (aka a fanboy) not a disappointed fan.

EA is going to have a heavy presence at the MS show. Don't expect a u turn on DRM. At most expect a lengthening of the time you're allowed to be offline.

Using personal insults to make your point to a mod undermines your point.
And trolling a group of people interested in something you're not does what for your point exactly?

Well it seems MS have not forgotten their promise. ;)

With only one more week to go until E3, the halls on the Xbox campus are full of excitement. At the Xbox Reveal event on May 21, we promised to deliver games, games, and more games at E3 and the team can’t wait to unveil the next chapter in our Xbox One journey.

Now is a good time to get prepared to make sure you don’t miss anything from the Xbox team at E3. Mark your calendars for 12:30 p.m. EST/9:30 a.m. PST/ 16:30 GMT on Monday, June 10. You’ll be able to watch the “Xbox: A New Generation of Games Revealed” event, live around the world, via the livestream on Xbox Live and at Xbox.com. If you are located in the US or Canada, you can also watch the broadcast on Spike TV. Set aside 90 minutes for the full show, which will be presented without commercial interruption.

I still think it's going to just be a game by game basis, like Sony. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I have it connected to the internet 99% of the time, but I like the freedom of not having to worry if it's connected.

Just going to wait for E3 to see what MSony both have planned and go from there. I really hope they both clear up their policies at E3 though.

Well it seems MS have not forgotten their promise. ;)

Yeah, I'm curious to see how many people say games are an afterthought after E3.

The shortsightedness in that XO TV thread is amazing.

Yeah, but what do you really expect at this point? Gamers apparently just want games. TV doesn't exist.*

*does not include the bajiiion people who use PSWii60 for Netflix

Agreed on most points. At least you are discussing. I admire that. You can hate the XB1 all you want. I've actually had no problem with any of your posts.

Yeah. I think you are right. I can't see them doing a U-turn on it now.

One thing that I was wondering was at some point, could MS give us the tools to de-authorize games ourselves. So we could sell them on privately.

I know that would be a huge can of worms. Would you trust anyone enough to buy a second hand Xbox One game knowing that if it wasn't de-authorized properly then you're stuffed.

I hope MS do offer us a way at some point.

Why should it change? Id like to discuss MS approach to multi media but can't due to fanboys. I'm interested in thier plans for TV shows based around thier franchises, it could be awesome.

I don't know. People seem to be really reeling in on the traditionalism of gaming recently. Hell, I like old-school, fist-poundingly hard games too, but I also like new stuff. There's no reason here can't be both in a growing medium like this. I like Journey and I like Call of Duty. I like Twin Peaks and I like Law & Order.

Most people don't pigeonhole themselves to one idea or style when it comes to entertainment. There's nothing wrong if you do, but I don't see why people should be berated for not following that. I like games, but I like movies and TV too. I like playing with my friends as well as playing games by myself. The cool part about this and the next generation is that I'll be able to have all that, but better. The UI's/OS on the One/PS4 are going to likely be faster and easier to use. It just sounds cool to me.

I might be misunderstanding the situation, but it doesn't seem like used games will really exist under their new policy. You can give your game to someone else, but ultimately they're going to need to pay MS to activate it, and that activation fee is the current MSRP. That's one way to keep used games but also get rid of used games. This won't go over well, but in time it will be forgotten as everything goes digital anyway.

Strong Sony bias? Were you around for E3 2005? I will assume you just mean lately.

Multimedia content has always been part of gaming, be it comics or books. TV shows are merely the next step.

I'm pretty sure fans of The Last of Us will watch the mini series that was made, yet the same people are in that Hollywood thread making moronic comments. It's pure hypocrisy.
