speaking of discovery...im discovering many ways to die. My map has no sheep so i can't build a bed either so I end up spawning way across the map where I was mining. Now i can't find my lapis lazuli and gold i harvested :(

What do you do when you have no sheep to make wool?

If you kill enough spiders you can turn string into wool. (2x2 in the crafting grid) So you'd need 12 string and two logs to make the bench, and subsequently the bed. And a tip, you can also burn logs to make charcoal to make torches as well so all this survival stuff is renewable without any mining or sheep. Basically, you can survive by only taking down a single tree and surviving a bunch of spiders. Of course surviving the spiders while hundreds of zombies, skeletons and creepers are also coming after you is the hard part. Especially when you're using a wood sword or stone.

Go hunt for some sheep. Every Minecraft world has sheep, but not every biome does. You just need to go out and find them.

Sometimes certain animals can be very hard to find. And when the sun is quickly falling you have literally no choice but to either fight (Which at that early time is a risk, unless you do it right at your spawn and don't mind dying a bunch of times and recollecting your stuff until you get enough) or wall yourself in for 10 minutes while the moon makes its path across the sky.

Yeah, in my SSP world horses seem to be incredibly rare. I've only found one pack with two breeds in it so far. I'm exploring like crazy trying to find more, and not being successful.

woops, killed Isobel's workshop yesterday :(. The electrolizer was hooked up to our power net, I added an empty cell to it, and it simply blew up, causing a large explosion gutting the room of most machines.

I was on a few moments ago and saw the explosion aftermath. Welcome to use my stuff... I'm too addicted to Warframe and Borderlands 2 to play Minecraft these days.

Does anyone actually play on NeoCraft anymore? The average users has been pitifully low for like a year now, probably over.

Either way, the server has enough funds to last into next year for those 3 or 4 people that still use it :p

I've seen some miraculous 3-4 people at a time on Neocraft lately.

You guys and your fancy machines, you should come back to grand father server.
Also where's my Neocraft horse update goddamnit? My stables are built.

Come fall again I'll have a lot more time to play, it's hard in the summer.

Krovan, Tavara, Teethworms, Zolis, and I just started back up again in the past few weeks. Been fun. Should be a little quieter this week with Tavara out of the country but I'm sure you'll see a slight uptick over the next little while with us on more.

Not touched minecraft in a while. I am hoping to come back to minecraft once the server updates to 1.6.2 but as we all know that could take a fair bit of time.

I was just referencing the fact that it can take a bloody ageeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for Bukkit to be updated to work with the latest version of Minecraft. At first I thought this update was going to be different. I think a week after the update Multiplay had a test bukkit profile available but it was plagued with problems so they took it down, that was several weeks ago now.

So looks like it is still going to be a while before Neocraft is updated to 1.6.2 :-( or it may just make a liar out of me and update tomorrow lol. I keep checking the server news every day if I come across any info I will of course let you guys know.

Do other servers have this problem every update? Ive played on servers, massive public servers with multiple plugins, that update almost as soon as the new minecraft patch comes out. Is it because we rely on Multiplay or something?

Some servers will be happy to use the "developer" build of a new Bukkit which is why they can update so quickly (the developer build has been available since the 9th July). However Multiplay traditionally wait for the "released" build of Bukkit before updating the server files.

Of course if Notch used some of the cash he earned from minecraft we might actually get Bukkit integrated into the bloody game and all this "waiting" can stop, but hey he needs a new 5 grand diving watch (does this guy even swim ?)

So I have never really used redstone and am just starting to tinker with it. I have been sort of forced to start using it since zombies have been breaking down my wooden doors and I need to upgrade to iron.

I was able to figure out how to use redstone to get one button to open two doors but I am stuck in another scenario.

I have a pressure plate then a set of two stairs and then the iron door. I want the pressure plate to open the iron door. I have the redstone placed all the way to two blocks under the door but when I place a redstone torch to connect the pressure plate to the door the door just stays open and the pressure place has no effect. I must not understand how redstone torches work.

Any help/tips appreciated!

something like this

may need to add a couple of repeaters to the redstone wire to give you enough time but it should work.

Awesome, thanks for the help. I had a feeling that you would need a second redstone torch to cancel the effect of the first one (or something) but had not figured it out yet.

Heh, I actually wouldn't mind. Even though I rarely post, I do keep up with this thread. I still play and follow the game, and don't see that stopping anytime soon. I do jump into Neocraft from time to time (I'm amused to see that I still have some of my old mod powers on there), though I haven't dropped into Neocrack yet.

Ah well, it's a moot point anyway. Juniors can't post threads, and at the rate I post, I'll never be a full member, lol.

Wow thought you died man lol. I thought you became a member after 3 months or 300 posts, odd.

I haven't been able to play much myself. Blame Steam and getting married. Although I'll prolly play on NeoCraft once 1.6 is there. I really want FTB to update though. Can't wait to see if I can use a jet pack with a horse!

Yep, still around. Congrats on your wedding, by the way! Maybe it's 3 months and 300 posts that I need to become a member. I just hit my 3rd year of being a junior, and am at 143 posts, so at this rate I'll be a member in summer of 2016 :p

Whoever does make it, the OP could probably be condensed some. We don't need the version history anymore, and the getting started section could probably just be a link to a video or something.


I suppose if no one else volunteers, I could do it. Anyone have any ideas for a good OT3 title?

I've got a weird crash buggy situation on mindcrack. Whenever I try to type in the find recipe list thingy (NEI was it?) it crashes.

That gets my vote and is suitably fitting, although I would have used something like "bloody" instead of Friggin .......... actually good ole sailor mouthed me I would have used a different F word ;)
