One of the many great posters of this forum derives his name from one of the greatest atheletes in mixed martial arts' short history whose 23 victories are tarnished only by two losses to Fedor Emelianenko and one (very unimportant) loss to Dan Henderson . Minotauro is the nickname of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. I hope you all enjoy this highlight.

Where did this come from? I just don't want to waste one of the downloads if it's one I've already seen...

By the way, your thread is probably due to wallow in obscurity due to the low profile of myself and my namesake. :)

Its from sherdog.com
Mino, you've got to be one of the most important posters here, what with the Hitler Mario avatar and all! Don't worry about downloading it. I'll repost it if and when it reaches its download max.

Ah, I've seen that one already so no use in downloading it. As far as my importance goes, I think you may be overstating that a bit. I swear, I've ended more threads than anyone on this forum! Oh, well, it could be worse...I could be stuck with a junior member tag.

Minotauro is one of my favorite posters :)

Why thank you. Is it the misogyny or my general disdain of all things fun that has drawn you to me?

I dunno, Mino... you just always have something of note to say. Whether it's insightful or funny, it's enjoyable. *tips hat*

I was thinking I would upload something too but I can't decide what. Is there any interest in a couple short clips of Wanderlei fights from Brazil?

There most certainly is interest in some short clips of Wanderlie fighting in Brazil. Does anybody have any requests? I'll see what I can do for you.

I appreciate the poster called Minotauro. You're a cool guy who brings good discussion, and you aren't sarcastic or jaded, which is rare on the internet.

I have a shitload of stuff like instructionals, Kosen Judo, a slew of pride fights, and some good boxing vids. I'll upload some stuff later.

For requests I am always looking for Kerr in Brazil.

Biff, I've got Sherdog's Kerr video that has some Brazil portions in it but I'd assume you've already seen it.

Yeah, I've seen it. Thanks though. I've seen a variety of clips from Kerr in Brazil, allot of footage actually. But never the complete fights, that's what I'm hunting for. Clips alone, he was among the most brutal fighters I've seen when he was in Brazil.

Its cool to see the earlier fights. I think you posted Silva's first fight? He looked all to human in that one, different then killer we're used to. Same with an early Igor fight I saw a day ago, he didn't look like the powerhouse we'd later see. I like that, inspiring.

Actually, those two fights aren't THAT early in his career. They're both after his shellacking at the hands of Vitor for instance. He's definitely made some real strides since then. Either way, while not exactly as dominant as some of his more recent fights, the ferocity was still there.

I'm thinking of a different fight then. I saw the name and just got em confused with his first fight. In that one, he really wasn't dominant until the other man fatigued. He got slammed around a bit but hung in for the win.

Here you go darlings, Dempsey VS Willard entire 1919 fight.

Big DL, over 100 megs.

A quick word about Jack "I kick tons of ass" Dempsey. Its Biff's opinion that Dempsey would have been one of the top names from the boxing pool who could have done extremely well in MMA. At first I didn't really know what to think of Dempsey. I thought his Willard fight showcased him as a wild, swinging thug who got by in a somwhat primative era of boxing. Since then, my opinion of him has pretty much done a 180 and I consider him one of the finer, more unorthodx technicians in boxing history.

Him and Larry Holmes wrote the best "how to" I've ever read when it comes to boxing. As for his wild swinging in the Willard fight, it really isn't. If you look you'll see Jack punches all the way from the heels, and he could wind up like that because Willard (who I believe is underrated) was defenseless. Reading Jack's history and know how on fighting is pretty remarkable. He was a slugger/swarmer like Marciano and Frazier, but unlike them he was known to be an incredibly fast starter (Jack's own account is that he had 60 1st round KO's, some bare knuckle). When I think of great fighters specialties, I think Louis had the best finishing ability, Marciano the greatest determination, Ali the most athletecism, but Dempsey was the best opener.

I remember reading his talk about the difference between a real fight and a boxing match. His description of the "real" sounded very much like what we see in Pride nowadays. For me, its safe to say he would have done very well in any type of format. The man was nasty.

Dempsey actually wrote a chapter entirely on that type of looping punch, I forget what he called it though. He really knew fighting, in many ways. I remember reading in his biography how he talked about how important understanding the clinch was, as it was the phase that led to keep the fight standing or wrestling on the floor. His words, not mine.

Newton/Sakuraba is a great match, thank you.
