Mint and Chocolate don't go together. Fight me.

I'm with you OP, mint is for fresh breath, maybe a cocktail, not sickly food.

I like mint and chocolate. I think Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream can be extremely delicious.

You get thats why it works tho right? Because the fresh flavour cuts through the sickly flavour, hence why it works so well with dark chocolate, its basically the opposite taste profile

Like sweet and sour

Aye, I just don't really like it - you could cut through the savoury of pizza with the sweetness ice cream if you wanted to, but you wouldn't

or would you

Depends on the pizza i guess, it could work, since some wronguns have pineapple on pizza, thats sweet, so it could work, with the right combo

i do like dipping fries into milkshake, on the rare times I have McD's, thats savoury and sweet

I've seen you maniacs. Sheer degeneracy.

That said I totally love chicken with maple syrup, savoury + sweet can definitely be a winner

Man maple syrup is the shit!! Especially on hot wings, or bacon etc etc

My Mrs makes maple syrup mayo dipping sauce, which is decent, I prefer straight from the bottle tho

I want her mints

On topic: Andes are the truth, also Girl Scout Thin Mints, and mint chocolate chip ice cream.

This is like the pineapple on pizza thing... the memes are funny, but everyone knows it works when you do it right.

There's a place in this world for fries and milkshakes (American classic), and chicken n waffles (Southern classic).

We can all coexist in diabetic harmony.

When I was in college, one of my roommates returned from a visit home with brownies:

Roommate: Hey, my mom made brownies, would like you like one?

Me: Thanks, those look really good.

Me: *Takes a bite of an innocent looking brownie, digs deep to stifle gag reflex as I recognizes that something is very wrong*

Me: Either your mom pranked you, or you're pranking me, because there's toothpaste in these brownies.

Roommate: No, my mom always makes mint brownies. Don't most brownies have mint?

Me: Seriously, you're messing with me. No one would do this to brownies.

Roommate: How can you say that about something my mom made...

And so on and so forth. I only tell this story so that people can see that mint not only ruins chocolate, it can nearly ruin friendships as well.

Years ago I had these chocolate and mint things that came in a box as part of a gift basket and they were fucking amazing and to this day I can't remember what they were because I'd wanna order them again.

They were roundish, but not smooth. They were shaped kind of lumpy almost like they had nuts in them, but they didn't. There wasn't mint cream in them. It was mint chocolate, and it wasn't pure chocolate. Something very very so subtle was mixed in. Maybe some type of rice product filling. I remember biting into it I could tell there was something in there, but I couldn't even see it, but it wasn't just pure solid chocolate. It was a little airier.

They were so delicious and rich. And I accidentally threw away the box and have never found out they were since.

Mint chocolate is the best chocolate; Chocolate oranges are fantastic; chocolate needs an additional flavour to be worth eating at all; pineapple on pizza is delicious and even better on bacon cheeseburgers; when Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die.

Yeah. I never liked chocolate and mint. I also don't like chocolate and peanut butter. Chocolate is one of those things that works really well on its own, and doesn't need any assistance to be awesome. Chocolate and Oreo cookies could get it though.

I don't mind it, but I am not in LOVE with it either. Sometimes it's refreshing to have it, but I can live without it for very very long time.

Ok, as OP, I've let this thread stew long enough.
Just to clarify, I love mint. I love chocolate.
I just don't love them together.

Can't agree with that OP.
Always a toss up between Coffee or Mint Choc. Chip Ice cream for me.

Already posted in this thread, but AfterEights. Gott Damn.
That cool, refreshing sensation, caressing my tongue, like some forbidden act I know should be outlawed.

I will pray for you.

But mint is the only flavor that makes dark chocolate tolerable.
There's plenty of shit dark chocolate, but a good dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate. I went through a phase of trying different dark chocolates, and I've had both some of the best chocolate I've ever had and some of the worst, most dry chocolate I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. I need to go get some more Peruvian dark chocolate. That shit's luxurious.
