MK:DS release date in Canada

Date of Lies said:
exactly, you don't know what some people in Canada might do if they don't get their Mario Kart on time.

I think we'll just drive to the border and get the US version.

Canada is full to the brim with Nintendo fans. Dunno why, but Nintendo is and has always been "cool" here.

If we have to wait even 2 days to pwn you American bitches online, there'll be hell to pay.

That, and I'll cry.

EDIT: That amazon deal is great. Doesn't Futureshop have a price matching policy?

Are those figures in US dollars or Canadian? Because if they're Canadian, wouldn't that be one hell of a deal on Amazon?

Canadian, and yes. But Amazon.ca charges like 5 bucks in shipping for orders under $39 ( plus free shipping takes a few days longer too), so it's basically for $39.99 and you get it like a week and a half later.

Yes they're Canadian prices and I'll be trying to price match Amazon.ca's price at Best Buy. It not, I'll order it online.

BTW I don't know why people are upset about the 16th since almost all games get released here 2-3 days after the US.

which is not a big deal if you've got other things to play. amazon.ca's been very good to me. Me and a friend ordered our mariokart DS copies together in order to get free shipping, try doing that (it ends up being 70$ for 2 copies).

EDIT: I've tried price matching at best buy by showing amazon.ca, they said they'll price match and add the cost of shipping (around 5$, so it would have been 40$ and not 35$), so I was like "well fuck you too"

That's true when you talk to a smart person. I had a moron price match Castlevania DoS at $29 CAD at Best Buy on Saturday because she gave me the "New from" price instead of Amazon.ca's price (which was $39.99 CAD). :D

Question: When you guys went to pricematch, did you have to print out a page from the Amazon website and show it to them, or do they check it on their computer there?

I print out the page. My brother has been a little unethical sometimes and photoshopped the page before printing. :lol

I read and understood the domain, thanks for making an assumption. That means the game only costs ~$29.50 (USD) in Canada? Good deal if you ask me.
.CA

yes, but aren't new released ds games already $30 USD in the states?

I was looking through the Child's Play Amazon.ca page for Toronto's Sick Kids' Hospital when I noticed Mario Kart DS is no longer listed for $35 CAD, it's up to $50 CAD. Looks like I'm not picking it up any time soon. :(

http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/AS...8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/702-4708855-1068030

...sons of bitches. You have to be kidding me. How in the hell is Nintendogs still at $35 then?

I am definitely not happy about this. Especially because it now means that there won't be a single saving grace, price-wise. All we can hope for is a good Wal-Mart price, really.

Also of note: Those should be $44.99 at the very most...how the hell they get $50 I don't know. This is sheer madness.

WTF?!?! Haven't my fellow Canadians learned anything yet?!?!

VideoGamesPlus.ca is your friend. They will have the game on the 14th!

As far as Best Buy, Future Shop, Walmart, and Zellers are concerned, yes it will be in stock on the 16th.

EB will likely get the game in on the afternoon of the 15th, but my local EB always adds an additional $5 to the price for that day or two early release.

Oh, and the price is $49.99. I think, though, that Walmart might sell it for $43.83 like Metroid Pinball, or $48.83 like Kirby. But you have to ask yourself if that little amount is worth waiting an extra day for Mario Kart!!

After seeing the $35 CAD price it'll be difficult for me to pay anything over $40 CAD.

I know, but Advance Wars, Kirby, Metroid Prime Pinball have all released at $49.99 up here. So I was expecting it.

But, just think that amount of replay value you'll get outta this one. Online mode is well worth it, IMO.

And I refused to pay that much for any of them. I got AW: DS for $40 CAD, Kirby for $11.50 CAD (price matched against TRU), and if I wanted Metroid Prime Pinball I'd get it this week at TRU for $35 CAD. I refuse to pay more than $40 CAD for any GBA/DS game.

amazon is known to keep the price low for a period of time before the game's release and then boosting it up when the release approaches, you should have hurried up :)

for instance, Animal Crossing DS and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time are still 34.99 each, so I guess if those games and prices interest you, you should order them atleast around 3 weeks before their release.

Then you're in luck.

Future Shop has Mario Kart for $39.99 one-day only sale on November 17th.

Is this 100% sure? I've been looking at the site every so often but its always been at $50.

Edit: It's $50 right now and "Limited Quantities"

I'm holding the flyer in my hand right now. It's a sure thing. :)

When is the red DS with MK coming out? I'm going to go to USA in about 2 weeks and I'm planning on buying it...

I thought it was coming out on Monday but Amazon.com has it for the 28th

Hmm, even VGP lists this as the 29th. Seems strange that they'd put the bundle out two weeks later...

Nintendo has always had the Mario Kart bundle listed for the 28th.
My sister won't wait that long for her DS. :( I want the game from the package in return of letting her use my DS to play Nintendogs before she got one of her own. :'(

Dammit! I'll probably go the 25th or 26th >__< ... I wanted a red DS and I'll buy MK anyway... $15 savings am cry :_| ...

*crossing fingers for street date breaking*

I just called the TRU at Markville and the guy told me that Mario Kart is already in. I forgot to ask him if it's $35 CAD like it says on the site so I'll let you guys know later. :)

so the canucks get it before the colonists?????? DAMN YOU NINTENDO WHY!?!???

nice guys.. enjoy.. first US shops should have them in late tonight hopefully.

I can confirm you that I have the game and just kicked a NOA Greg/Jerg/whatever guy online. Take that sucker :P

I was surprised to receive a call this morning from my local EB to notify me about MK:DS. For once, we get a game on time, even earlier than most people!

$33.50 futursehop price match, here i come.
I called the local Best Buys and Future Shops and they didn't have them in so I don't mind paying $1.50 CAD more to play it today. Sadly, I don't have wifi yet so I'll have to wait to play online.

EDIT: The guy at TRU was surprised that it came in today because he's been telling people it wouldn't be in until tomorrow or Wednesday.

I didn't find the game anywhere.
Probably because I didn't bother actually going anywhere to look for it :p
. Anyone in Quebec find this yet? I did call a few places but no one had it though Futureshop's site did claim that the one downtown montreal had it in stock.

ONE copy?

My school is right next door. Somebody's going to school early tomorrow.

Try checking on the site now. It's not working for me right now (getting an error when I click on mario kart) but if it works for you, you can check the availability.

P.S Mcgill? I don't know of any other schools near there.

hmmm.. weird, I'm getting

"This item is not carried at this location."

as opposed to

"This item is carried at this location but is currently out of stock."

EDIT: Oh... I thought you meant the Forum one. You're right, the Centreville one has it.
Still weirded out by the "This item is not carried at this location." though
