I just don't see the Cardinals trading a piece like Miller for one year of Heyward. My guess is he's signed before he hits FA. At least I hope that's the case.

Guy on MLBTR said he can get the largest FA contract in history if his power goes up near 2012 levels. So he would have to love it in STL to not go to FA.

And Upton is going to be 28, it's not a big difference. They already have two plus defenders in the outfield. Yankees desperately need power and Upton would give them that.

Yanks need players who add value no matter how they get it. Heyward provides more value than Upton while being a couple years younger.

After watching Melvin's huge and sudden drop-off, plus Justin's massive problem making contact on pitches in the middle of the zone, I don't know if I'd want to take the long-term bet there.

Had absolutely no hopes for the Jays but this is terrible. Much love to the MaeStro and it's a damn shame he won't get a chance to follow up his fantastic first year.

Obviously the Jays should panic and go ham for Dillon Gee.

Or they could just invest in a time machine and still have Syndergaard and D'Arnaud.

I was fully ready for the Jays to be out of it by June/July. Having Stroman gone in spring training and EE likely suffering from back trouble all year means it'll just suck right out of the gate.

This spring is murder. I love Fangraphs' silver lining on Darvish is that he has no chance to void the final year of his contract.

Liriano had a nice outing today, 3 innings, one hit, 21 strikes out of 30 pitches. Bucs bats continue to be quiet for the starters though.

The spring is always like this. It's why I don't like doing fantasy league drafts until the 30th.

A lot of his value comes from his defense and some of it is going to negated by having Ellsbury in center. I really rather not have 3 light hitting outfielders in the power department unless, of course, Heyward regains some of that power this season.

Sucks for Stroman and the jays. They should have really gone after Shields.
