MLB 2014-2015 Offseason |OT| Playoff Dreaming

Kevin Long working his magic?

HOPEFULLY it translates to the regular season. We can't lean on starting pitching anymore, we need the bats to have some life in them. It starts with Wright and ends with Wright.

Duda also needs to be able to at least hit off enough lefties where we don't need to take him out against one every time.

mlbGAF Fantasy Rejects Draft is TONIGHT

Sun Mar 22 8:30pm EDT

so roughly 4.5 hours from now

Make sure you guys review the scoring settings ( i hope you've already done this) before the draft starts. Reminder that OPS is now being used instead of BA - that's a change from last year.

Sitting in Yahoo mock draft rooms as prep for a real draft is an exercise in futility with all these quitters. What's the point of staying for the first 2 or 3 rounds when all those guys are pretty interchangeable? Unless I'm missing something and that's where a league is won, what gives?

Hmm, the Mets are going with Colon as their Opening Day starter. That's weird, even for a road opener, isn't it?

After all the big names are gone they have no clue who to pick and leave.

I think he's in for a bad afternoon.

Sendai Ikuei is my kind of team. Fuck bunting, everyone swings.

Edit: holy shit Satou just hit 154 kph

Yeah he'll be playing in the big boy game next year.

Yeah Ikuei is just too good with the bats. I thought this would be closer since both are high level teams but so far they've had Gakuen's number. Swing for the fences.

Chie is the worst waifu
Yep but it was fun. Everyone stayed in it till the end. Better than last year's draft I think.

Too bad i'm not really feelin' my team.

Definitely was fun, looking forward to the season.

..and trying to keep track of all three of my teams.

Only Japanese HS baseball that matters is ace of Diamond.

GAH!
at least watch a good show like Major :p (though it takes a season to start highschool baseball

Ace is watchable, but after watching series like Major and Cross game it's far from good :(

anyways, I have had enough of spring training, the end of the month needs to get here already @_@

Question time. Since it seems I won't be able to watch Dodgers games through Directv anytime soon and TWC is not offered in my area. I've had to look for a solution to be able to get around the blackout.

Anybody use Unlocater with MLB.TV? I want to know if it's a guaranteed that it will work ok before paying $130 for MLB.TV and not be able to watch Dodger games. I will be using my PS3 to stream the games.

I don't know about unlocator, but unblock us worked perfect to bypass the blackouts for me. I also used my PS3 and iPad last year.

Where are you guys watching the Spring Koshien at? I have to do a project on international sport and am going to probably do it on amateur Japanese baseball.

Tsuruga Kehi v Sendai Ikuei Friday looks to be an incredible game. Matches up the two best pitchers who've gone so far (though Satou had some control issues) and both have great offenses. Talk about Ace of the Diamond.

I used unlocator on a trial last season and on the PS3 too. It was really easy (just switched my DNS on the PS3) and smooth. Do it!

Cool stuff man.

And I started Ace of the Diamond over the weekend. Seems pretty good so far.

they are doing it because they are probably terrified that fans won't come to any other games.

Its why Harvey is pitching day 3.

get two sellouts early, one for DeGrom Home Opener then one for return of Harvey Day at Citi Field. also gives him some rest but yea, he should have pitched the opener. guess i need to buy two tickets for that week

Looking at the Cubs schedule it seems like the most difficult part is from 5/25 to 6/10. All the teams are probably going to be in contention.

It goes:

Mon, 5/25 Nationals 1:20p
Tue, 5/26 Nationals 6:05p
Wed, 5/27 Nationals 7:05p
Fri, 5/29 Royals 3:05p
Sat, 5/30 Royals 6:15p
Sun, 5/31 Royals 1:20p
Mon, 6/1 at Marlins 6:10p
Tue, 6/2 at Marlins 6:10p
Wed, 6/3 at Marlins 6:10p
Thu, 6/4 at Nationals 6:05p
Fri, 6/5 at Nationals 6:05p
Sat, 6/6 at Nationals 11:05a
Sun, 6/7 at Nationals 3:05p
Tue, 6/9 at Tigers 6:08p
Wed, 6/10 at Tigers 6:08p

Good for getting familiar with the new draft room, but yeah, it's not much of a prep. I guess it does give you an idea of how Yahoo ranks players since it's mostly just a Yahoo default draft.

I haven't started Ace of Diamond yet, how does it compare to something like H2, Major, or Ookiku Furikabutte?

Ace of the Diamond is solid. Character driven but all the drama is grounded in realistic baseball. I mean, Kuroko's Basketball is my favorite show right now but it's basketball with shonen magic powers, while this is just straight up real sports (you will see auras around players during key moments, like you see in Japanese baseball games, though). And no fan service crap, either.

It is similar to Kuroko's in that they will draw out games over 4-5 episodes and really play up the character drama. Just hit episode 48 and enjoying the hell out of it.

Plus the show hooked my son on baseball so there's that.

Haven't seen the others, so can't compare. I have the Major manga in my backlog but it will be awhile before I catch up on that.

I"m going to one of these games. Waiting to hear if the bleachers will be done or not and the rotation setup. I'm hoping Lester v Scherzer or Stras ends up happening.
