MLB 2014-2015 Offseason |OT| Playoff Dreaming

Knowing Larry he'd probably rather the Patriots win another Super Bowl if it meant San Francisco loses against them in the process. Same with harson, their Bay Area hate is beyond logic.

Harson is the only one who can understand.

Also, "another Super Bowl?" When did the Patriots ever win a first Super Bowl?

Indians confident they can complete a trade for Brandon Moss.

Padres and Dodgers talking Matt Kemp trade. Padres would trade Grandal plus more in a scenario.

I thought Posey didn't like Melky for lying to his teammates. I remember a quote from him with "betrayal" in it. I'm all for a bad signing by the Giants, but I can't see them going against Posey and messing with Chemistry.

I was looking at this list of trade value rankings.

I noticed how few players the Devil Rays, Athletics, and Cardinals have on this list; it's interesting because those three are generally considered three of the best run teams in baseball. I can't decide if that's random chance or if that tells us something meaningful.

Jonah Keri da god knows what he's doing imo.

Btw if one of your team's guys is featured in that banner art, I'd scoop it up as an avatar in a second:

Oh, I wasn't suggesting that he's necessarily wrong, just that many of the best run organizations don't seem to be built around a small group of particularly amazing players.

Trade value isn't the same as quality players though. The best pitcher on the planet didn't make the top 50 because of his contract.

But you're right that those 3 organizations are successful in part due to their organizational depth.

Newly-acquired Braves outfielder Nick Markakis is leaning toward opting for surgery to repair a bulging disc in his neck, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.

Braves were aware of the injury, and prior to signing Markakis to a four-year, $44 million deal, members of the front office viewed a report from an independent specialist who evaluated him in the offseason. If Markakis opts for surgery, he will need approximately 12 weeks of recovery and should be on track to be ready come opening day.

The Rays have had a lot of draft busts lately and they've dealt away or lost a lot of their best assets without being able to replenish them.

Same thing with the A's although drafting wasn't really their forte ever.

1992, Ryne Sandberg signed a 4yr/28.4mil deal. The biggest ever. 7mil/yr I thought that was insane back then.

It's crazy to think Lester is going to get almost 10 times that 22 years later

That record lasted only like 5 months. Cal Ripken broke it with his 5 yr/$32.5m deal, which would be broken by Bonds a few months later with his 6 yr/$43m deal.
