Justin Upton about to be traded to an AL West team. Young pitching coming back. Sounds like Taijuan Walker might be moving.
A's, Rangers, and M's could be involved.

Early indication is that J-Up is not going to the A's, Mariners or Rangers. Sounds like the Padres are still a possibility
Romo translated from spanish is liquor. Sounds about right for Giants fans right about now.
Jim Bowden's reporting that Max Fried is going to the Braves. Goddammit, can the Braves get a pitcher that isn't recovering from TJ surgery?
@JonHeymanCBS: lhp max fried, ss jace peterson, 3b dustin peterson, of mallex smith going to braves for justin upon and low-level player
So another pitcher that blew out his arm, a faster Tommy La Stella, and two other guys.
Will Myers sounds like the one who would play 1B if needed. The Padres have all the makings of a horrific defensive outfield. Maybe they try Kemp at 1B?
@JeffPassan: Source: Padres nearing a deal that would send Ryan Hanigan to Boston for Will Middlebrooks.
Like when you agree to sell something on craigslist for $25 and the guy shows up claiming he only has $20 on him.
seems like more quantity than quality but oh well. Maybe one of them will turn into something good.
Talking chop is full of this sentiment. What gives? no one ever heard of max fried? Dude is going to be a wipeout #1. Not scared of TJ at age 20.
Brandon Beachy had his first TJ surgery in 2012, when he was 25, and his second this past year at 27.
Kris Medlen had his first TJ surgery in 2010, when he was 24, and his second this past year at 28.
Jonny Venters had his first in 2005, when he was 20, his second in 2013 when he was 28, and his third this past year at 29.
These guys weren't exactly senior citizens.
More Padres trades. See you later Jenny Dell
And they are all 7-9 years OLDER than Max Fried who is having his FIRST.
Aren't there more than a few pitchers who have remained effective and remained in the league after multiple TJSes?
I thought you were talking about us. I had to give it a second look. The Padres sure love outfielders.
They got Tomas and Hellickson. Thats a decent offseason for them.I thought you were talking about us. I had to give it a second look.
Dbacks do nothing this offseason?
Thanks for the updates. I was thinking I haven't heard from them yet. They got Tomas and Hellickson. Thats a decent offseason for them.
No.Jim Bowden's reporting that Max Fried is going to the Braves. Goddammit, can the Braves get a pitcher that isn't recovering from TJ surgery?
Idiot.I think I can officially scratch the Padres off of the Upton Sweepstakes list.
I wish the Mets were as active as the Padres. But it's fine we have Cuddyer...
