MLB 2014-2015 Offseason |OT| Playoff Dreaming

So wtf is going on?

Pads have to be dealing one of those Corners right?

I don't how they can play Kemp in CF.

But I think this puts them squarely in 2nd in the division. Their SP's are really good.

Jim Bowden's reporting that Max Fried is going to the Braves. Goddammit, can the Braves get a pitcher that isn't recovering from TJ surgery?

So in the most pitcher friendly park, the Pads go and acquire power hitters.

Crazy thinking, but if your the Padres, you just go for broke now. Get Cueto at any cost, get Hamels, whatever it takes. Gonna be fun to watch them this year.

never heard about the cat, apparently
seems like more quantity than quality but oh well. Maybe one of them will turn into something good.

Looking at the dude's we gave up for Rollins.. wow. A 2nd rounder and a 1st rounder who have both pitched well thus far in the minors. Obviously you have to do what you have to do, but that was a lot for a guy in the final year of his deal whose last particularly good season was 7 years ago.

Like when you agree to sell something on craigslist for $25 and the guy shows up claiming he only has $20 on him.

Everyone has had this happen to them. It really fucking sucks too.. it's only happened once fortunately but I definitely gave in.

Talking chop is full of this sentiment. What gives? no one ever heard of max fried? Dude is going to be a wipeout #1. Not scared of TJ at age 20.

Can you blame Braves fans for being pessimistic about a pitcher that just had TJ surgery after Medlen, Beachy, and Venters all in one year?

Brandon Beachy had his first TJ surgery in 2012, when he was 25, and his second this past year at 27.

Kris Medlen had his first TJ surgery in 2010, when he was 24, and his second this past year at 28.

Jonny Venters had his first in 2005, when he was 20, his second in 2013 when he was 28, and his third this past year at 29.

These guys weren't exactly senior citizens.

And they are all 7-9 years OLDER than Max Fried who is having his FIRST.

Aren't there more than a few pitchers who have remained effective and remained in the league after multiple TJSes?

Probably, but after the second TJ the success rate gets a lot more iffy.

I'm not entirely sure why we're talking multiple TJs here when Max Fried has only had one, though.

And seriously who gives a fuck about prospects anymore? They just fizzle out or in Harper's case cause a local media circus about not getting paid enough despite not earning a payday (only solo HRs in October - no raise for you).
