Here comes another Grand Slam.

Edit: Guess it's 2 better than 4. Great idea putting a rookie catcher with a pitcher with little confidence.

The Autumn Wind
I don't see the Mets winning too many more games this season. The David Wright news sucked out any air the team had left in it. Last place is looking more and more likely.

As excited as I want to get about the Astros, we still haven't won a series vs. a winning team. Not that we have had many chances. In fact, our next chance won't be until we begin our series against NYY on June 25th. Shout out to our scheduler.

It especially helps when you are beating up your division on the daily.

Something I wish the Blue Jays took more advantage of.

You think the Yankees will have a winning record by June 25th? I'd be a bit surprised. Although I guess the Yankeees' schedule softens pretty substantially in late May/early June, so maybe...

The comeback for the pennant began this weekend.

Anyone have a starting pitcher they're willing to part with?

Seager for Kazmir. You know you want to.

They still never gave up, not squandering chances, scoring runs while behind. Last year they would have been lucky to score as many runs as they did to beat the Tigers. If not for that walk-off in the first game, they might just have won the series.

The Angels and Seattle will most likely be above .500 when we play them next. June 12-24th is going to be very important with 6 games against Seattle and another 3 against the Angels. NYY might not be above .500 when we play them, but the next team Kansas City will most certainly be and that could be a interesting test, much like this Detroit series just was.

Was cool to see Bernie Williams get his moment there. Easily the most underrated Yankee ever. More like the only player to ever put on a Yankees uniform and somehow be underrated.

Cubs seem to be playing down to their competition. Really annoying.
Huge week as we are playing the Nats and Royals. If we are still within 5 games of the Cards I'll be shocked.

That speed from DeShields holy shit

Almost beat out that play at 1st

EDIT: 2nd batter of the game and the Yanks' defense is already fucking up. Middle of that infield is a disaster.

Every AL East team will be below .500 after 162. It's going to be the best.

As of this second, Fangraphs has every team in the ALE with a less than 50% of making the playoffs. Oh, and the team with the best run differential -- and, hence, the best Pythagorean record -- is the last-place Blue Jays, who play just well enough to always lose by a run.

Yes I have been bitching and moaning about this today. :lol

In fact they have the 3rd best run differential in the AL, with the 2nd worst record. It's wacky.

Is that even possible? I foresee some dark years in New York baseball.

Nah, last place is for the Phillies. The nationals are probably going to win the divison by 20 games though.

Mets are sending David Wright to California to see a spine specialist. With the Mets luck the doc will tell David that his career is fucking over.

Fuck the Mets for doing this bullshit 6 man rotation garbage. Trade Gee or Niese for a fucking bat. Because of this 6 men crap the bench which has done NOTHING this season is short again (4 man bench..LOLMETS). I don't get it. Sucks with all the injuries ..<sigh> d'Arnaud should be back soon and I don't know when Dilson will return.
