We shut them down the first weekend. They were happy flashing that goose egg. See you guys do that?

Hmmm...

Mon, Apr 25 vs San Diego W 5-4
Tue, Apr 26 vs San Diego W 1-0
Wed, Apr 27 vs San Diego W 13-9
Tue, May 17 @ San Diego W 5-1
Wed, May 18 @ San Diego W 2-1
Thu, May 19 @ San Diego W 3-1
Mon, May 23 vs San Diego W 1-0

versus

Mon, Apr 4 @ San Diego W 15-0
Tue, Apr 5 @ San Diego W 3-0
Wed, Apr 6 @ San Diego W 7-0
Fri, Apr 29 vs San Diego L 5-1
Sat, Apr 30 vs San Diego L 5-2
Sun, May 1 vs San Diego W 1-0
Fri, May 20 @ San Diego L 7-6
Sat, May 21 @ San Diego L 3-2 F/11
Sun, May 22 @ San Diego W 9-5 F/17

Clearly that first series you had with the Pads was a fluke! Just like that 17 inning victory!

Buster Olney reports that he's got some info on Carlos Beltran's limited no-trade clause, which prevents him from being traded to 15 teams without his permission. 7 of the 14 teams Beltran cannot block a trade to are the Cardinals, Dodgers, Indians, Nationals, Rays, Royals, and Tigers.

Beltran is currently in the final year of a 3-year, $45 million deal. He's still owned approximately $11 million this season.

Per Sherman, Mets have interest in Loney who is in the Padres farm system but can opt out of his minor league deal if another team wants to sign him to a major league deal.

Probably worth a shot. Dude is batting .333/.368/.417 with two home runs and 23 RBI in AAA.

I hope they take the shot. Better than seeing Campbell roam around the infield.

And I can only imagine how bad it's gonna be to watch Flores, Walker, Conforto, De Aza and/or Wright try their hand at first.

I really wanted Walker to get a shot at 1st with Herrera coming up to play 2B (he's hitting .273 with 8 HR so far), but Loney is a great option as well as he won't cost that much and he's a high average / OBP guy.

If the Mets are just going to throw someone with no experience at 1st, it might as well be Conforto so Lagares can get into the lineup and play center.

Rich Hill: 7-3, 2.16, 1.11 WHIP, 10.1 k/9, 2.1 WAR, $6m.

For AL pitchers, 4th in WAR, 3rd in ERA, 2nd in Wins, 5th in K/9.

1st in hit batters.

Sale should get the start in the ASG, but Hill's got an argument to be next on the bump.

Jose quintana also has an argument to be next on the bump
same War as hill.
5-3 (most of that is the offense didn't show up in his games)
2nd in ERA
1.017 WHIP
making 5.4 mil
only 7.9 K/9 but still beats hill in most things :p

SO hard to watch Jose Abreu look clueless at the plate and he couldn't hit a softball on a tee right now.

Hope Sale is on tonight and the offense gets him some runs. I hate that almost every game the White SOx either do just enough to win or just enough to lose.

it's really not a horrible place to be as that means a piece or two from the trade market could have a huge impact.

Question for you. I love Abreu and know he will eventually figure it out but let's say the Angels said sure we'll trade Trout for Abreu...would you? I feel dirty thinking it as Abreu(and Sale) are my favorite players now but Abreu hasn't just looked so so bad he has BEEN TERRIBLE BAD.

WTF?

First off. trout is worth way more than abreu.
second off it depends on if money is an issue or not. with the white sox current budget in mind as 35mil of a 100 mil or so budget can impact the rest of the team, and 1 good player does not a good team make.

that being said trout is only signed through 2020 when he turns 28.
so yes. in a heartbeat yes, but I can't imagine angels would want less than abreu, sale and quintana for trout.'

LOL I know just dreaming and know more would be required but heard rumors in crazy places of Trout possibly on market for some reason. Maybe a dream I had though and I like Abreu despite his terrible season so far.

the reason you hear those rumors is because the writers want something to talk about and dreaming up a package for trout is like rumor porn.

that being said trout likely isn't tradable right now, he would simply command to big of a package for the angels fans to not be pissed off that they traded him. if he does get traded I don't imagine it will be until 2019 or 2020

You can't be serious.

Heh. That's why I said Hill would have an argument and not Hill "should".

Haha I know, see above. Stupid, tired, bored mind wondering at work. I'll keep "our" Abreu and know he will get it going.

The Angels are in such bad shape right now for the long term that they kinda have to trade Trout for a team's farm

Though the fan backlash they'd probably get would be insane

if they could get some team to do it, they should do it in a second, the simple fact though is no team will offer enough for trout. To get trout you would likely need to trade 5-8 of the top 20 players in an orgs farm, including at the very least number one and at least 2 of 2-5. Don't get me wrong, trout is an amazing player, but no team is going to be willing to trade multiple mlb starters with potential to be all stars for a single great player whom if he got hurt you would be done.

it's why I say it will be a few years still as trouts value needs to go down a bit in terms of years so it would only take 1-3 top 20 players with one of them being the number 1 or 2 to get him as a rental.

Heh. That's why I said Hill would have an argument and not Hill "should".

yup, also why I said quintana had an argument.
mostly quintana never gets any love from anyone so I like pointing out he exists lol.

Even though the Angels cannot get a return that is comprehensible to the skill Trout has.
