NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You still want the one year Mariners contract for the proper A-Rod farewell tour?

The real Captain leaving the game. What a sad day.

But I won't mourn or cry the day ARod leaves. I will celebrate with joy, knowing that he played the game he loved and milked the New York Yankees for EVERY FUCKING CENT possible.

I feel like no one gives a shit about Bonds or the record at this point, you barely hear anything other than a couple of people adamantly saying "Hank's the true king"

I like Barry better but I would love Arod to break it so people can go nuts being idiots again.

RIP Joe Garagiola. A great broadcaster, I had the pleasure of meeting him. The occasional games that he would broadcast up until the last couple years in Arizona were always treats.

On the ST side of things, can some of this incredible good fortune make it to the regular season, please?

Only A-Rod is arrogant enough to not be content with a 1 year farewell tour that plebs like Jeter got, he had to announce his retirement 2 years in advance. /s

Out of the Park Baseball 17 is now available. The GAF Online Baseball League (GOBL) just completed the 2019 World Series, we're upgrading to OOTP 17 for the 2020 season if anyone has interest in joining.
The second post in the thread will let you know what teams are currently available.

Check us out if you like the idea of managing a roster / rotations / lineups in sim baseball.

D-Backs are upset and threatening to move somewhere else.
http://www.azcentral.com/story/news...iamondbacks-could-leave-chase-field/82228788/
The Arizona Diamondbacks have notified Maricopa County that the team wants to "take such actions as it deems necessary in order to move and play Diamondbacks baseball games in a location other than Chase Field," citing the county's failure to make $187 million in repairs to the downtown ballpark.

In order to do so, the team must be released from certain provisions of its contract with the county. The contract runs through 2028, but the team must have county permission to discuss options with anyone else prior to the last four years of the contract's term.

The county refused the team's request in a letter Wednesday.

was just watching the highlights of today's game.

Kevin Pillar, bless his soul, got caught sleeping half way between 1st and 2nd base. But the ball got thrown away. Then with the SAME batter at the plate, he got caught napping half way between 2nd and 3rd base. Ball got thrown away AGAIN. And he scored.

I've never been inside Chase Field. Always thought it was a nice, well-kept ballpark on TV. Wonder what's wrong with it.

I've only been once, and this was some time ago. From what I can remember there just isn't a lot going on outside and around the park. It's "downtown" but just barely, and surrounded by a bunch of industrial and parking lots. Not that you'd want to be walking around outside in Phoenix most days to begin with.

Derrick Hall sounded pretty pissed in the presser, never really heard him like that. What the hell would require ~$200 mil in repairs?!

I could see them wanting to get out of the shitbin that is South Phoenix, though. There's some beautiful spots out in the East Valley that I'm sure they'd prefer, and they're trying to use whatever this repair business is as leverage.

Downtown Pheonix is not a shitbin. Screw the East Valley.

Edit; other than roof repairs what else is wrong with BoB (Chase field)

Edit 2: looked at the letter the stadium management seems to have been shirking their duties... This will take a few years to deal with.

Can we just get a restaurant that sells all the ballpark special foods in one location. Traveling to eat this stuff would have me homeless and full.

Hell I'd take a HOF location or a traveling truck.

Wicked Pig -- $27

"Stuff could fall off," says Rapp. That's how big this sandwich is. A Hawaiian roll is stacked with pulled pork, bacon, sausage, prosciutto and ham, then doused in barbecue sauce and topped with coleslaw and pork rinds. Customers get a fork and a knife, thank goodness. There's also a third bun in the middle for those who want to unstack it and tackle it as two sandwiches.

1458767981-chicken-donut-skewer.jpg

Chicken and doughnut skewer -- $12

Instead of going for a chicken and waffles dish, executive chef Cris Vazquez dreamt up a chicken and doughnut skewer drizzled with buffalo honey sauce. The 12-inch skewer might eventually get supersized into a 24-inch option, but the engineering wasn't quite there yet. "You can't just put it on a lightweight stick," Rapp explains. They're still hunting for the right way to serve 2 feet of hefty fried chicken.

1458767996-Vegan-stuff--nachos,-wrap,-burger.jpg

Vegan cart: vegan hot dogs, meatless nachos, black bean burgers and more

A cart dedicated to meat-free and healthier items will be available in section 16, on the third base side. The concessions team sampled about 50 vegan items, Rapp guesses, to pick items that were right for ballpark fans. The cart will sell a vegan hot dog, black bean burger, vegan jerky, vegan nachos, vegan spinach wrap, hummus and organic beer.

1458768040-shake-it-up-salad.jpg

Shake it up salad -- $9

Also available on the vegan cart: a portable salad, designed to be shaken so the dressing coats the vegetables as fans walk to their seats. It's not the Texas Rangers' first salad, Rapp points out. But it's the first one that focuses on how people might want to eat one: with one hand, and quickly.

Globe Life Park will also debut other new concession items such as smoked brisket fries in the Captain Morgan Club and pretzels with beer cheese in sections 11, 18, 30 and 327. Ballpark attendees with suite tickets will also see new menu items such as rocky road bread pudding and a three-platter raw bar.

#BlueJays have added Chicken & Waffle On A Stick w/ maple Sriracha drizzle and broccoli/cabbage slaw.

But the Jays are also staying true to their roots with a unique twist on a Canadian favorite: poutine. Instead of the traditional French fries and cheese curds, the Jays are going with a Buffalo Cauliflower Poutine, which will be made out of breaded cauliflower covered in buffalo sauce with a hefty helping of cheese curds, gravy and scallions. There is a vegetable in there, so maybe it technically counts as a healthy option.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have also been strong in the food department, and they're back with a Cheeseburger Dog. It's a hot dog made of CHAR-GRILLED HAMBURGERS. They've been ground up and mixed with chopped smoked bacon, green onion and cheddar cheese. They are then breaded with milk and flour, deep-fried and served on a hot dog bun with smoked bacon and secret sauce!

For those hoping to up the cholesterol intake, head to Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, where fans can buy a delicious helping of Duck Fat Fries. The Phillies will also sell a Sonoran Dog, which is a normal hot dog wrapped in hickory bacon with a tomatillo salsa verde, Tabasco mayo and -- of course -- some chopped tomato and onions.

We signed Pete to a 2 year extension. Intereseting. I was hoping we would see out this season with him and reasses at the end of the season but I am good with this
