MINNEAPOLIS -- Left-hander John Danks will have exploratory surgery on his left shoulder on Monday morning, as announced by the White Sox prior to Tuesday's game with the Twins.
The 27-year-old starting pitcher will be shut down for the season, and Dr. Tony Romeo and Dr. Gregory Nicholson, considered the shoulder specialists, are set to lead the surgical team with assistance from Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph and Dr. Nick Verma. As White Sox head athletic trainer Herm Schneider explained Tuesday, doctors will explore to see what the problem is and then they will fix whatever problem is found.
Danks' injury, diagnosed as a left shoulder sprain, has kept him off the mound for the White Sox since beating the Cubs at Wrigley Field on May 19. Schneider said that the problem is still considered a strain, but there might be something else going on that they aren't seeing.
Just wait for the Domonator to come back for tomorrow's game. WILD CARDShane and Hunter were holding the team back. lol

Edit: Strasburg yanked.
Why did they let him hit if they are pulling him? They should pull him to conserve innings.
Because we didn't want to waste a pinch hitter so early. He's also a hitting machine.

Jason Bay (fouled a ball off of his shin) and Andres Torres (right hand injury, X-rays revealed no fracture but possible ligament damage) out of the lineup with injuries. Wright getting a day off. Nervous about Jordany in CF but nice to see Mike Baxter back. I am so ready to see Matt Harvey in outing number two.

I don't get why none of the talking heads are concerned about the Yankee's spiral. They have been losing every game in the same fashion as they were playing all season: all HR, no RISP. I don't see this team getting any better. How are they not going to blow their lead in the AL East? After tonight, they will be only 6.5 ahead, no?
5.5 ahead. well, the problem is not winning the close games and that's because of the bullpen. (or Retardi, or both)
Trout is unreal.

I wonder if this spiral is the beginning of the end for Girardi.

Verlander pitching poorly lately.
Burnett has a noooooooo hitter!

Anyone else see the reports that kate upton and verlander are now a celebrity item? She apparently started showing up to detroit games in all her gear when he pitches or whatever. Since then ( like three starts ago ) he has been contributing to ugly ass games like tonight and cleveland last week.
