Beckett is overpaid..yes.
Both Hanley and Beckett are reportedly poor in the clubhouse. We'll see.
but..
1) Beckett is not pitching to the power bats in the American league now
2) Dodger stadium is more of a pitchers ballpark
3) He's better than the #5 starter on the Dodgers right now.
If Beckett wins the Dodgers 2-3 more games than they would have won rolling Blanton out there, this deal is worth it as long as the Dodgers have the $$$. They apparently do.
The Dodgers ownership is trying to sell the franchise to both the fanbase AND whomever wins the new TV deal.
Time will tell if this is a bad move or not.
