In a series like this, where every game is decided by one run in extra innings, the presence of a veteran all-star starter like Brandon Phillips is sorely missed. I don't know if it would make a difference or not... but I feel statistically Reds coulda walked away with one of those games.

Watching the game, Hughes gotten away with a tons of mistake to hitters. I wonder when he would get burn by it. Didn't take long after the lineup turnover.

Well the injury was with pain tolerance...

also last call if anyone wants in the NeoGAF League! we need 1 more since we have 23.

Lj11 how about it? :D

Only if you think Fredi is a good manager as well.

Well, I'm just going to throw this out here:

Year - wRC+

2006 - 129
2007 - 82
2008 - 117
2009 - 86
2010 - 125
2011 - 77
2012 - ???

He's still only 33, another above average year with the bat is possible. His fielding is a lost cause though.

New York Mets
1) Ruben Tejada SS
2) Daniel Murphy 2B
3) David Wright 3B
4) Ike Davis 1B
5) Jason Bay LF
6) Lucas Duda RF
7) Kirk Nieuwenhuis CF
8) Josh Thole C
9) Jon Niese LHP

Philadelphia Phillies
1) Shane Victorino CF
2) Placido Polanco 3B
3) Jimmy Rollins SS
4) Hunter Pence RF
5) John Mayberry LF
6) Ty Wigginton 1B
7) Freddy Galvis 2B
8) Brian Schneider C
9) Vance Worley RHP

Wright said he has been undergoing treatment and performing exercises as advised by the hand specialist in an effort to promote healing and said his pinky “feels a lot better today, obviously.”

Wright said he will wear a little extra padding to protect his pinky, but it should not prevent him from performing normal activities during the game.

For him to have a good offensive season he's going to need to slug a lot since his on base skills are worse than Cano and are non-existent. I could see it happening, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Did you guys know that the Mets are the only team that has 0 stolen bases this year?

Also neat: Braves SB totals.

Heyward: 2
Bourn: 1
McCann: 1 (lol)
Everyone else: 0

I like it when we agree on things. Also I should eat a little bit of crow and say that yeah, Galvis is probably better with the glove than Utley in his prime.

Me to. I am sure I was being a bit to harsh towards Utley since last year is still so fresh in my mind. He was a really good 2nd baseman in his prime.
