No PS4 shown? C'mon. I want the goods!

PS4 version of The Show probably gonna be after PS3 is released. I'm thinking, May or so. Maybe they hit a development skid or are trying to polish it up more.

Since Portland lost SD's AAA team it does make a deal of sense if they know there are fans waiting to support more baseball. I would be willing to bet Portland would snatch a team if there was expansion but beyond that happening I don't see MLB changing much in the forseeable future so it's a tough spot. Eventually someone will want to buy/build on the land the city is holding for the stadium and that will set things back, too.

I remember there being a story several years ago about how more people in Portland watched the Mariners on tv than people in Kansas City that watched the Royals, so i think there would certainly be enough fan support. I'm sure they could get a local tribe to buy a team if it came to that as well, but as you said actually getting one would be the problem.

An NHL team is more likely at this point since that is what the Rose Garden was built for in the first place, and Paul Allen is trying to buy one. If only he could be convinced to buy a baseball team too...

Yeah some of those NHL teams don't draw for shit and it seems the northwest just inexplicably loves sports teams. The Sounders and Timbers in the MLS draw crazy numbers, the highest in the country if I'm not mistaken. Them hipsters (I use the term loosely/fondly) apparently really like yelling in a drunken pack. Which is why OAK would make sense given that's what they draw anyway.

If both players became free agents tomorrow and you could sign one, which one would you and why?

I would sign Heyward, as I think their overall value will be about the same going forward and his value is tied up in his defence. Stanton's price would be huge considering his dingers, and I'd rather be cost effective.

I'd love to see the Rockies throw the farm at the Marlins and get Stanton. Stanton could have a legitimate shot at Bonds' 73 homers playing 81 games in that stadium.

holy shit, M's farm system is so ravaged that besides taijuan (who was up in the majors last year anyways) we only have one top 100 prospect

I remember looking at the rankings around this time last year and it looked like you guys were stacked. What happened? Did a lot of those guys break the majors this year or just wash out of the rankings?

Meh. There is a bunch that could move into Top 100 after this next season.

Victor Sanchez, Tyler Pike, Edwin Diaz, Luis Gohara .... all fucking pitchers though.

Walker, Paxton and the corpse of Hultzen are still prospects imo though. Dunno how Paxton was taken off the top 100 after his strong showing in September. He shutdown STL, KCR, DET and TBR in his 4 game debut.

3 graduated. Nick Franklin, Mike Zunino and Brad Miller.

Taijuan still in Top 100. I think Paxton should still be in the Top 100 ... towards 100 though.

Hultzen needed shoulder surgery so he's a mystery ... but still young that he could make a comeback.

stanton..and its not even close. hes going to stay healthy this year and hit 50 homers.

That being said, heyward is obviously still very good.

I guess you have to ask yourself if Stanton will improve on defense or if Heyward's power will improve and weight each attribute accordingly. I think Heyward's power will improve myself, so i'd go with him. Of course, i'm biased.

Stanton is the better player. Just move him to 1B or if you're in a real league then move him to DH and that defense problem is solved.

Now if you're talking hypothetical contracts involving the two then Heyward will probably be the better value there.

It's a testament to the STL farm system that they graduated Shelby Miller, Carlos Martinez, Matt Adams, Michael Wacha, Seth Maness and Kevin Siegrist in a single year (and this isn't an exhaustive list -- these are just people likely to maintain major league roster positions for at least the next few years) and still have 3 prospects on the list, including the number 3 prospect.

Greg Maddux goes into the hall of fame without a braves cap per his request. Same with Tony larussa regarding a cardinals cap. Glavin and Cox choose braves, big hurt a sox cap.

Who the fuck is Johnny Gomes? Dude needs to shut the fuck up. Red Sox were very fortunate that The Dodgers were dumb enough to take their trash from them.

Taveras has a chance to make the team on OD?

Yes, and Kolten Wong will definitely make the team, who is also on the list.

It means that 12 of the Cardinals' 25 man roster going in to this year will be graduates of the Cardinals' farm system just since 2012. If you expand that to "graduates of the farm system ever," then somewhere between 19-21 of the Cardinals' 25 player roster will be products of their farm system, depending on how things pan out. Their farm system has simply been extraordinarily productive.

Why is he a prick though? He's right. The Yankees have question marks, pretty much every team in baseball has question marks somewhere. The Yankees infield is still a total mess on paper but obviously they've improved their team elsewhere so we'll see how it shakes out.

And he's right about the Yankees not having won shit yet. The Red Sox were the ones who won the title last year and saying the Yankees are better then them right now is just disrespectful and pretty ridiculous.

Going more in depth since I'm bored, here are players likely (or certain) to make the Cardinals roster, and who came up through Cardinals farm system:

Joe Kelly
Jaime Garcia
Adam Wainright
Shelby Miller
Michael Wacha
Kevin Seigrist
Jason Motte
Trevor Rosenthal
Carlos Martinez
Yadier Molina
Matt Adams
Matt Carpenter
Allen Craig
Kolten Wong
John Jay
Daniel Descalso

May make roster, depending on how things pan out, came up through Cardinals system:

Oscar Taveras
Shane Robinson
Tony Cruz
Sam Freeman
Pete Kozma
Keith Butler
Tyler Lyons

All of these came out of the Cardinals farm system, although a couple (notably Wainright) were drafted by other teams and traded to the Cardinals while still prospects.

1. because, reasons
2. I didn't disagree I just called him a name.
3. I personally don't know of anyone who has said that so..... I stand by what I said.

Tony Cruz is a roster lock since a backup catcher is needed. I'm rooting for Kozma over Descalso so we'd have a service-able defensive replacement at SS but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Jonny Gomes is a prick because he was celebrating Wainwright's injury/surgery back in 2011. Fuck him.
