The only place flyweight fights belong is in South East Asia and Mexico. I do not see how anyone with a brain thinks they are marketable fighters in places where the average male height is around 5'10" (US, Canada, UK, most of Europe.)
Plus, even in countries where the average height is under 5'6" they'd probably prefer to see hulking 200lbs+ monsters fight rather than a bunch of guys who look like they didn't eat solid food until they were 14. There's a reason why the WWE doesn't book a lot of dudes under 200lbs.
I really hope the UFC bookers see the light and don't torture us by making us sit through 25 minutes of a split decision Demetrious Johnson victory as the headlining fight of any other PPVs after UFC 152. Fuel TV: ok enough. First fight of the main card: tolerable.
Note: I'm around 6'6", weigh around 240lbs. I believe that it was the Great Frank Mir who made a soundbite relevant to my feelings about flyweights.

Anything other than a PPV or Fox main event (or co-main to another title fight) is devaluing the title. They're not going to do that regardless of what you and the Mediocre Frank Mir think about flyweights.

Dominic Cruz's last title defence was on a Versus card. I don't see why a flyweight title fight couldn't be simple Fuel TV fodder.
But I'm sure that the ratings and buyrates will be proof enough of the lack of interest in watching a bunch of kids fight.
Versus/NBC Sports is available to 4x the amount of people that Fuel TV is. I don't think the UFC should be showing any fights on Fuel much less title fights but that's another discussion.

Rockhold's performance is disappointing. I was hoping his rugged good looks and surfer boy attitude would save us from the reign of Canderson but it's probably not to be.
