If Shogun loses this one then he should be lucky the high-end LHW division is as shallow as it is, otherwise that would be all she wrote for his title aspirations.
Hopefully Gus doesn't choke. He has a lot more to lose than Shogun. Just ask Phil Davis about that one.

Gus has nothing for Shogun. Shogun is going to come in beat mode in this fight after all the criticism for his last. Not saying that cuz I am a Shogun fan, but I just don't see how Gus can win unless its a 5 rounder and he takes Shogun to decision.
I'll say the opposite, I don't see what present day shogun has for Gus.

Gus hasn't done anything to prove that he can beat Shogun. I wasn't impressed in his 5 round point fest with Silva and him getting outclassed by the guy that really isn't "wonderful". I think they should have paired up Gus with Evans and Shogun with Rampage/Glover winner.
This is Gus's acid test, see if he can hang with a former champ.
But what will Shogun do against an opponent with an actual gas tank?
But I agree that this will/might be, depending on which shogun shows up, Gus' test to see if he is for real. Also, I'm biased since he's Swedish. Also a huge shogun, so tough fight.

This fight will tell us a lot and both fighters have way too much to lose. If Gus loses its clear that he doesn't belong in the upper echelon of the LHW division and can join his buddy Davis. If Shogun loses than hes done and done after that piss poor performance vs Vera. If Shogun wins than that puts him right back into title contention.
Gus better be prepared and be durable enough for a war because thats what Shogun will bring.

How is Shogun in the "upper echelon" of the division? He has shown he is done and doesn't take his training seriously. How can a professional fighter gas so easily multiple fights in a row?Gus will win by anything after Shogun gasses after one round. His lost against Davis was two years ago and some fighters continue to improve and learn from their mistakes.
Chamber should have known that, if you're going to use that gif, use the Tim and Eric one.

His only loses in the past 2 years were to Bones and Hendo, who is currently the #2 LHW in the world, which was a very competitive fight that could have been a draw or even a win for Shogun. He easily dismantled Griffen in the first round.
I agree that his last performance was his worst showing to date, but he got the victory. How is he NOT the "upper echelon". Why are you so sold on Gus? what exactly has he done thats so impressive? Not saying Shogun has been all that impressive outside how many hits he can take and dish out. Also the LHW division is top heavy.

i'm not one for hyperbole, but this place is on another level. all the genetic mixing here in Russia over the last thousand years has made quite an attractive female gene pool. you've got hot blondes, brunettes, raven haired goddesses, and even the occasional wonderful red headed. taking a taxi from the office to the hotel is a neck snapping experience when driving around the city center. i should have friday to myself, so i'll try to take some inconspicuous photos, but no promises.

Anderson is gonna lose his next fight by not being active. Ring rust and age are gonna catch up, I also don't think he looked that good in the Sonnen fight.
I love Anderson, but he needs to keep active in this point in his career if hes going to be facing hungry 22 year olds for the rest of his career.
