Nobody has yet to explain to me why a fighter needs ANY notice if both fighters are getting the same amount of notice. Especially since JBJ is supposed to be this naturally gifted fighter. 8 days 8 years what's the difference if both fighters have the same prep time?
What? Is he writing a paper on 18th century agrarian society in England? No. He's punching people in the face. Before anyone says I have no reference, I was a old school sparring partner for PKA kickboxers in the late 80's and early 90's. Yes I'm old.
JBJ is not a fighter. He should find a job behind a desk with Greg Jackson telling him how to file his papers. I hate all this ducking fighters nonsense. Legacies are not built by having a perfect record. Name your favorite fighter. Do you like them because of wins vs. losses? I hope not.
Complete and utter bullshit. Name another champion that has had as many top fights in such a short title reign.
You can't. Jones the "non-fighter" took on all comers and defeated them all pretty handily. Why? Because he's stupid and goes into fights unprepared? The amount of notice for this fight was short, and the variance in fighter he was going to face was large.
Yeah...let's all criticize a guy for making a smart career decision. He agreed to fight at the next ppv, so the claims that he's afraid to fight are impossible to substantiate. He simply didn't see the Chael fight as smart on that short notice. Who are you to second-guess him? You must be the world's biggest badass who takes on all comers, right?
These guys fight for their livelihood, and by all indicators, most fighters gets kinda screwed by the UFC. Why hate on the best champ of the last handful of years making a smart move to protect his livelihood? If he loses and gets demoted shortly thereafter, are you going to label him a hero or just brush him off as a can?
The amount of people slurping Dana's bs is pretty funny, but not completely unexpected. I'd say the same thing no matter who the fighter, because these guys owe the UFC nothing. They are the show. Without the quality of fighters we get, the UFC would be no better than backyard brawls, and would still be obscure. Jones was sponsored by the UFC because he's good, not because he's some martyr for the rest of the roster.
How can so few of you see how shitty the booking was in the first place. There are injuries all the time. This is the first time a ppv gets cancelled, and it's not because one fighter didn't want to take a fight. It's because the card was terrible outside of that one fight. It's not Jones' fault they have him carrying garbage cards. PEACE.
