MMA |OT3| When you lose you're a can, when you win you're unstoppable.

Scooter, o' wise one, does the same rule apply to Japanese fighters being cans in MMA? I want to believe but evidence to the contrary is becoming overwhelming. Thank you friend.

no all japanese people are cans. The ones that aren't fighters just haven't unleashed their inner can.

Every fighter can lose, it just depends on how much money they are being offered to do it.

Perhaps the Yakuza have been paying off all Japanese fighters to throw their fights in the Ultimate in an elaborate scheme to clean up in the Vegas sportsbooks. Those who refused early on like Hioki had their families threatened.

Yeah, that's gotta be it. Thank you for the insight Scooter.

Dana's behind it all.

I obviously really, really hate Sonnen and the disrespect in the sport that he breeds. It'd be poetic justice.
Eh, I hate Condit for playing safe. I hate GSP for not breaking Hardy's arm. I hate ultimate stalemates. I hate when a fighter simply does not try to finish. I hate Guida for laying on people. But I can't hate Sonnen for making the road to their fight not only entertaining but also relevant. On top of that he has actually motivated Anderson for a fight. Fact is dude was full of his own shit and needed to be humbled and things like his performance against Forrest for example showed that.

In the call he was kinda forced into saying it will do UFC 100 numbers. It's not like when promoting something he could say "nah it won't be that successful" He does think it will do over a million though.

Silva´s trash talk is working, a couple of brazilian tabloids put that shit on their first pages.
One of them even did a photoshop of chael with broken teeth.

Single-handedly caused Exxon-Mobil to sue FOX, start World War 3
No one has posted Anderson's quotes from the media conference call?
He obviously encountered a rip in the fabric of reality and now believes that he is the Ultimate Warrior.

I think Anderson’s a really good setup guy. He uses a lot of movements and motions to set guys up, but at the end of the day, his skills are amateur. If you walk into a fist fight with your hands down, that’s amateur, and you know, I treated him like an amateur the first time, and he’s going to look like an amateur this time.

So says the man with the largest arms in mixed martial arts brahs.

The Forward Roll: UFC on FX 4 and UFC 147 Edition

Clay Guida

It's been a long time since we've seen someone go from crowd favorite to subject of contempt so quickly, but Guida pulled the trick in less than four rounds with his quirky, defensive-minded game plan against Maynard. Every fighter has to go in with a strategy that he feels confident with, regardless of what criticism may follow. That said, they have to know that criticism will indeed follow, because no one watches fights for defense. It is and always will be an offensive game, and because this was so far out of the norm for Guida, I don't expect many to hold it against him unless it happens again. After losing two in a row, I can't imagine he will, and put his job on the line in the process.

Prediction: He faces Jim Miller

Meh, have some positivity you goons. Wrestling cancels each other out so we'll hopefully get a stand up slugfest.

...well it would be nice.

Pettis' only hope would be to employ a Carpenter-like strategy against The Bully. Sitting in the pocket would be a death sentence.

dream, friend, where's the next panel where Anderson clutches at an injury in pain, offering both he and his fans an excuse as to why he lost or why his victory was that much sweeter?

Or the panel where Sonnen makes a deal with prosecutors to get a lighter sentence by snitching on his contemporaries, while his fans throw stones at Jon Jones for the same thing.

bish gets all the credit :)
Andy doing that promo work. Sonnen/Silva actually mentioned on PTI. Wilbon was still his usual hater self.

Do you guys think Anderson was coaxed into saying what he did during the conference call, or did Chael finally make him crack? Ed Soares tried to prod him into promoting the first fight. You can see the footage in the Like Water documentary. He wasn't having it.

I think the UFC got lucky and Anderson accidentally started promoting. He has been avoiding any promotion he can for this fight. He almost didn't do the countdown.
