Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans S2TEKKADAN is MURDERERS, HAIL GHALLARJORN

You know, the strongest point of IBO as a series is that the writers know how to wind down after each of the major story points that have occurred. There's always just the right amount of reflection and interaction that give you a sense of where the characters have progressed.

The scene with Eugene and Yamagi was great. I chuckled pretty hard at Eugene's reaction to Shino saying "but he's family! I don't know how that happen within a family." The scene with Akihiro and Derma was even better considering all that Akihiro has been through this season. Derma was the one that spoke up earlier in the season when that stuff with Aston happened, as I recall so that worked out well. Then there's the Mika and Orga scene at the end that basically flipped the entire conversation between them. Seeing Mika admit that he's the one that pushed Orga and that Orga admitting he was just the figure head was pretty poignant especially after the scene where Orga realizes that McGillis was saying the same things he did up until this battle.

Atra....it happened, didn't it?

Very sad episode with great moments with Yamagi and Akihiro. Mika screwed up, he should've taken a last swing at Julieta just for good measure but nope. Well since Julieta is still with us, I wanna ship Gaelio x Julieta, loving their banter so far. Rustal is just way to OP, he counters almost all their moves, it's almost like he planned this whole Macky coup to further his own power...
He didn't plan it but he anticipated it. He has a good network of information plus Gaelio came to him, so he had someone with first hand knowledge on how McG thinks. Note that everyone, including his men, expected Rustal to rush to Earth to stop the Coup, but he didn't. He took his sweet time which provided him ample opportunity to put various pieces in motion.

The man is basically Batman with prep time.

These last few episodes have been spectacular. Still,
Julieta
should've bit the bullet and it wasn't a sound decision for Mikazuki to leave
her
alive. Regardless of that misstep it was still a great episode. I'm glad they addressed Yamagi's affection for Shino and Shino acknowledging it and not being weirded out. I don't think the series can hope to match Thunderbolt or reach the potential I personally felt it had/has but it still ranks among the better/best Gundam series. I want a happy ending for these kids, they aren't the villains some on this forum are making them out to be and honestly they deserve it.

So Isurugi and the Heimdallr existed only to give Mika a big sword once, and to shield Charcolate man against Punished Gali. What a waste of the Grimgerde frame. Just another iteration of IBO's problem with having suits around to not do anything.

So, best girl won. Mika will die, Atra will use the money he had Kudelia manage to buy a farm for her and their child. Kudelia will help raise the kid, and Hush will be around to keep them safe.

Isurugi existed to give GaliGali his first named kill after 46 episodes.

Indeed. Rustal feel like a polished Scirocco lol. He don't get greedy at all and he plans his moves carefully while using some of his plan to strangle McGillis plan there.^^

Miss Atra, there is something different with you today?O_O

Again, Atra seems to have soften Mika there lol.^^

All caught up now. No! Lafta!!! Shino!!!

I still do not understand why Tekkadan had to go up against the Arianhod and McGillis being all 'I want to be Supreme Leader' and the council being all 'lol, no' and his response was 'okay lulz'. All flimsy pretty flimsy premises but this is still the best Gundam in ages.

I love the proliferation of melee combat and all the capital ships being actual threats instead of paper-thin cannon fodder. I love the invention of nanolaminate and beam lasers being obsolete. Made the combat and the physicality of all the weaponry. The dainslef are scary weapons.

Wonder how our gang will get out of this pickle. Will Nobliss/Teiwaz/Arbrau thru Kudelia come in at the last minute to save them since those three factions the most to lose once the Arianhod gets a hold the half-metal mines? Or maybe there is no Get Out Of Jail card this time.

Why was bael getting shit on by ugly

Well from the looks of it Bael has been just sitting around unused for the last 300 years. Charcolate has made no changes to the suit, and is only shown using the same swords he used with the Grimgerde as his weapon. In contrast you have the Kimaris Vidar with all its gimmicks. So far there isn't anything special about Bael except it has some symbolic importance in Gjallarhorn, otherwise it's just another Gundam frame.

And while Charcolate has been shown to be one of the better pilots in the show, he does have his loli inflicted wounds holding him back; while Gali Gali is an ok-pretty good pilot being assisted by his computerized brain system, making him a decently dangerous foe.

KImaris VIdar is the orginal form for Kimaris though.^^

I was pretty happy to see Macky wince at his hand wound. If they just proceeded like it did not happen a few days ago I would have been a touch annoyed. Like he got a knife clean through it, thats gotta impair you a bit.

But yeah Bael Gundam got a bit bitched out by Kimaris Vidar. Not that I'm complaining cause its my favorite suit this season (since Guision Rebake has only had like 3 scenes sadly)

My only real issue with this series is the lack of balance in showing the Gundams. Its definitely more about the characters but we get awesome Barbatos scenes then just Guison shooting at something... thats it Also some of the animation of Akihiro is off. He looks stubby in some scenes while when he was introduced he is the tallest/tall as Orga and beefy, sometimes he looks like Biscuit (BISCUIT). Common blow it out with this thing! Oh well I'm enjoying it.

Episode 50 will end with Atra holding her child and say "You know Kudelia, this child is really the Iron Blooded Orphan".

I'm sorry.

I really hope this story wraps up on Mars. It brings things full circle. Tekkadan was born when their home base was attacked. It should probably end the same way.

Ahh pretty sad, but still encouraging episode. Yet I know 80% of the crew will probably die.

Atra gave me a good laugh this episode, really shows the the different/or lack there of education. It was cute.

Tekkadan are officially a terrorist organization. It is just as I said. Terrorism is all a perspective. It's over for them and now they're thinking of running away. Orga even considers selling out the man who gave them so much. So much for honor among thieves. The only smart guy in the organization tells them to get the fuck out while they can, and their response is "we are murderers who no one else would take in" so that says enough about the ethical quality of this group of people. Just a while longer before they add polygamy to the belief system of their murder cult. Hope Rustal cleanses the world of these scum.

BAD END INCOMING.

McGillis really is the master of baiting people into doing what he wants. He's shown that he's aware of his ability to do it, but it's at the point where you have to wonder if it's a thing he "actively" does or if he's just been doing it for so long that it just happens. And only after being confronted with a negative end result (or seeing it him use it on someone else in front of you) will make you see his ability for what it is.

[Paraphrasing] It's interesting seeing him try to work his magic on Orga again ("dont you hate the ones who killed your friends?") and Orga's "they became our enemies because of circumstances" reply. Over the last few episodes of being directly confronted with the negative end result and seeing it used on Eugene, Orga is aware of what McGillis true influence is and where succumbing to it will take you.

It's just a shame he let his "get to our destination by the shortest path" mentality get the better of him, and let himself and Tekkadan become McGillis' effective subordinates.

He's wisened up now and put the pressure on McGillis... but is it too late? A season and a half of playing his game has had its consequences... As for McGillis himself, I'm sure he is still has some other threads he can pull on, so we'll just have to wait and see what else he has up his sleeve?

Edit: Re-watching the scene, there is a bit at the end where McGillis tries to move closer to Orga as he's trying to convince him, and Orga moves away — a nice minor body-language touch there.
Episode 50 will end with Atra holding her child and say "You know Kudelia, this child is really the Iron Blooded Orphan".

I'm sorry.

I'm gonna have to agree with ATXAlchemy that this is one GAF meme that needs to die.
also, the baby wouldn't be an orphan if Atra is still alive

Sometimes it's hard to distinguish when you're being serious or are being sarcastic.

I loved this part so much because Orga's actually recongizing that they started fight with Rustal's people and didn't even have to and Orga realizing all this shit was a bad idea.

I've been waiting for the moment they realize the path they've taking was stupid. Course can't say I agree with they average member's idea of "Well I'd rather die brutally in a literally pointless fight then even attempt to have a life outside of this organization."

I swear though...if Iok and Julieta survive and Yamagi and co. die I will be so mad.

Also I hate Rustal. He controls the public opinion too well and he is too good as a villain. He better die.

Oh and Chocolate man can die too.

Looking at the preview it looks like
MA may become relevant again, I thought it was weird how they basically disappeared from the plot after their arc.

*sigh* lol.

You're on my hit list now. This phrase is one GAF-spawn that needs to die sooner than later.

Hey, I said I was sorry. :(
Also, wouldn't the baby be considered a paternal orphan since Barbatos and Mika will die?

Ride you missed your chance...though Takaki was the right one to leave when he did.

I smiled at the end when Merrybitto and Dexter brought the good news and hope for any that can make it to Earth. Im praying fervently that Ride and Yamagi and Hush make it. Mikazuki too.

Rustal doesnt need to be that harsh either.

It's not even a Gaf meme. it's a co-opted 4chan meme.

Assuming no MA shenanigans, i'm kinda ok with this final setup.

I kind also like the, small, accounting side of things we got this season.

Sucks how both McGillis and Orgas' characters have collapsed in the last few episodes. McGillis was a calculating schemer and now all of a sudden is without troops and a plan. Orga was brave and took on crazy odds is now acting like a coward using his family as an excuse for backing out. Definitely feels like this series is heading to a bad end.

Well, the condition right now is really bad for them lol. It is not shocking to see their personality kinda change.

And McG is indeed a calculating schemer. It is just that he meet up with another schemer who literally able to read him like a book lol.^^

Cute emotional special episode then Atra shows up and goes:

"Hey I already fucked Mikazuki you do it too and have his baby too! Threesome!!!" Oh I had a good laugh there.

The best moment of this episode lol.^^ Kudelia should take her chance there.T_T

I have to admit that the Atra Mika Kudelia love triangle has had zero appeal for me through the show. It always felt like the show would be better for having Mika & Atra end and a Kudelia end where she is focused on improving Mars.

While I can already hear you type "whynotboth.gif" I just feel like any romantic development between Kudelia + Mika is a distraction, and nothing more than a first crush when compared to the longer history that Atra / Mika have.
Though I suppose you could argue that both are < Orga from Mika's pov

Sure he does. He's the villain. Even Gaelio is like "?" at Rustal, but then he doesn't bother to ask real questions. Further proof Gaelio isn't the hero some of you guys want him to be. Rustal will slaughter everyone without even due process (I guess maybe it doesn't exist. Or they're above the law. Gjallarhorn is pretty rotten.) Survivor predictions: Kudelia, Atra, Merrybit and Rustal's fangirl.

Lol no way lol. Rustal explained it last episode on the revolutionary armies and the normal armies following McG there.

Rustal hammered the point here. an organization is more than just its leader. Tekkedan is in this situation because most of its members agreed with its direction its not just Orga leading them off a cliff.

Just blaming everything on Orga is just stupid lol. The whole Tekkadan should be judged for their action too.
