They should probably make it so you can't switch weapons while being grappled since whenever an assassin grapples me from the front I switch to the shotgun and it's all over. The smart ones try to rocket jump away but it's usually not fast enough.
 
Just bought it last night. The game is great! I'm still learning the ropes, and I mostly just stay with assault for now. Once I feel more confident I'll branch out to the other classes.

Quick question though. Is it possible to counter/break grapples? They're fun and all but they're kinda cheesy as it not only does a crap ton of damage but you're basically stunned for the duration and a sitting duck to enemy fire.

I'm fairly sure I saw 2 people playing with the same gamertag the other day. So I guess it is.

Yep. Was playing splitscreen during Crossfire the other day. Oddly enough in one game we were on separate teams.

Had some really shitty games right now. First of all, is there some form of lagswitching in this game? just had a game where grapples were completely impossible to perform, and most other things were not working very well either. For me that is, the other team seemed unaffected. Also hade a game completely bug out, stuck in death/tactical map for minutes and killcam was all kinds of messed up.

Also played a game against a full team of tanks, and maybe it was just my team sucking but there didn't seem to be any way to deal with it. I guess it also can depend on the arena. Pretty sure the worst game was on GrenadeIII or whatever it's called. Will a backstab take out a vanilla Tank?

I'm also curious if anyone has seen a host migration actually work. Usually for me it goes from "trying to connect to new host" to "host migrated" but then boots me out anyway, saying it couldn't connect.

Except for the shit above, I've had a lot of fun with game today and it gets a lot better when you start learning the different classes. Really wish you could change class and not lose a ton of invested money though. I guess the support may be a bit overpowered on some of the maps. A well placed 3.3 firebase and some 3.3 turrets are pretty hard to breach on some of the maps.

I hope this game get some patches and maybe some dlc with more varied maps.

Host migration works for me 9/10 times but I'm usually left in the game with 1 or 2 other people but the game fills back in pretty quick. One thing they need to fix is some bug that gets the jackbots fully overhealed.

yeah last night i got destroyed by a team of ninjas - _ - the whole match was lagging but the other team was killing mine and destroying the money ball without a problem. There whole team had no deaths >.<

So I just got this game and am having a blast with it. Are we doing any sort of GAF meetups? We definitely should, I haven't even played the team battles. I have just played the one where you team up with a couple people and fight waves of robots. Pretty fun! The last game I played with one of my friends we made it to wave 67 on the survival mode.

Played crossfire split screen yesterday with a friend for about 3 hours. Man, what a fun game. We got raped pretty badly but it was awesome nontheless. It's waaay too hard to spot assasins if you can only see half of the screen.

Supports turret camping is my bane right now.
 
My only issue with the game is the canned insta kill grapples. Pretty lame when you die to being locked into a repetitive animation that basically spells instant death.

Our first update using MNC Live Update System include the following changes:

-Time between Crossfire matches changed from 60 to 45 seconds
-minimum number of players needed to start Crossfire changed from 8 to 6
-custom bot spawner timer changed from 5 to 10 seconds.
-changed message of the day.

To reiterate, the MNC Live Update System is a way for us to tune values at will without having to go through a patch process. We are working on a patch that will address known bugs and exploits.

Minor update, good stuff on the crossfire time reduction :D

I like it. Spamming 100 Gap shots to rain death on the entire map was getting a bit old.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, we had a team of gap shots and bouncers rushing our base at one point, it was insane, I mean we still won, but jeebsus.

Also meant they had next to no turrets

they really need to balance support

i went 29-28-5 last week and my team was down like 2 people and i single handedly kept my team alive until overtime then we lost and i made like $6k+ :lol

I usually run support with my team and I can have some great matches for sure. From my biased viewpoint, I don't think support is OP. Assassins and snipers are good against them. Ring outs via tank or assault can be problematic. Basically you have to look at them as first targets. Letting them hide behind a corner and heal a gunner or tank is asking for it. You have to flank them, take out their firebase from a far, sneak up for a grapple/ring out. They can be stopped.

Puts everything else to shame, except maybe Shadow Complex. I'm still just as giddy about this game as I was during the TF2 beta days. No two matches play out the same way.

Yea pretty much.

I run mainly as support and I think what people feel about support being OP is the way they approach them in a fight. Too many times I'm allowed to set up camp, and when Im approached its usually in a gung ho manner (me or you will die!). Assassins disabling me and my turret (stealth through animation then smoke/destroy turret) is really powerful as is a support who rushes me with the intent to just destroy my turret and run away (one airstrike).

There are a ton of games where assassin charge me head on thinking they're safe and feed my shotgun kills, or ones where I'm allowed to lock down an entire side of the map with 3, 3.3 turrets and pick off stragglers/solo people while I defend my base.

I have lately been straight up gang raping people as an assassin. It is soooo much fun. I need to get more strategy though. Playing with people who are mic'ed up and working as a team would be fuck awesome

Does anyone know what the faster rate of fire does for machine guns? Anything? I know it allows you to fire semi-automatic weapons in quicker succession but I'm not sure if it's really giving any advantage to me as a machine gunner. Do bullets fly out of the gun faster or anything? How about for the tank's short beam weapon? Any advantage there?

Makes them fire faster. Tank's jetgun as well.

Interesting. The jetgun is kind of already firing at a constant rate. What good would a faster rate of fire do there? Seems like it would accomplish nothing but waste ammo faster. Does it do more damage perhaps?

woo finally got the 25 kill streak protag as a sniper

was way too easy on steel peel arena since i completely slaughtered a team built of assaults/support/tanks and gunners

though there was this one sniper who kept trying to kill me but failed miserably so he switched to assault and gets killed again then he tries to sneak up on me as an assassin i have a trap in place and he gets grappled

his final attempt resulted in a rage quit as he ran into our base with his teammate and jackbots so i threw out a flak nade which killed both of them :lol
also i died soon after since i got overwhelmed by jackbots :lol

yeah my team won

usually when i play well my team loses even though im taking out all the enemy bots and turrets and get a ton of leftover money to build/upgrade turrets
 
The changes they made are good to hear, I will add them to the op under updates somewhere at the bottom.

It's been a few days since I last played, maybe I blew all my energy on it playing it solid for the first week, that along with being busy lately, I also get a bit annoyed with the enemy gunners, support and assault classes shooting the moneyball instead of escorting bots, I do my best to stop them but my team usually end up running away to do something else then protect our ball.

So wait a second, the faster rate of fire for a gunner does not actually make the bullets come out faster, but rather just quickens the start up that it takes to get the mini gun at full speed?

Fucking irritating when you play full games and just after it ends you get host migration failure or something like that. Of three games happened to me twice and you don't seem to keep any of the money you earned. Patch that crap please!

So, has someone come up with a good tactic against rushing? a Juiced up Tank, Assassin or Gunner will pretty much wreck all of your defences in one go. Turrets are extremely weak and so is the moneyball. As soon as it goes down, the match is over.

Still love the game though.

What are some good endorsements for support that rarely uses the shotgun?

Been sticking to 3 ability, 2 armor, 1 health regen. Seems like the best to be honest. Though not sure if regen is the best since killing enemies and your little turret thing regen your health.

It does both but the most obvious change is the spin up time, it will vary from class to class. Sorry I wasn't clear enough it was 2am or something when I wrote that post :p

speed on silver or bronze is a good choice, keeps you mobile, can keep up with assaults and snipers to heal them on the move plus you become a harder to hit target due to moving faster.

I use speed on a sniper as gold endorsement and can flank people before they know I moved, it's great because no one ever expects sniper to move like a sprinting assassin :lol I can also run backwards spraying my smg while assassins try to grab me from the front, I always win.

I'm so hopelessly addicted to this game. If they patch it so that the game will choose host based on best connection rather than the first player in the lobby and fix the host migration issue, then this game will be all I'll ever need.

More maps soon plz!

It's really fun. I also hope they fix the host migration isses and do something about overtime juicing. But otherwise its been one of the top surprises of the year for me.

Ya I forgot about the overtime thing.

I too had no expectations for this game. In fact, initially it looked like it would be the only summer of arcade game I wasn't going to purchase. When I did buy it, it was reluctantly. Now I can't stop thinking about it.

My only balance problem with the game is the Sniper landmines and grapple are too powerful, and Supports are overpowered in nearly every way.

Otherwise, I wish matchmaking would transfer host more smoothly than it does.

This is my favorite shooter after TF2 and Shadowrun.
