Well that gives me a nice excuse not to use it, but that doesn't really help.Tenbatsu said:All you need to know is that it is the strongest weapon in the game, still.
Just joking. Maybe you can share the problem faced while using the lance so I can advise.upandaway said:Well that gives me a nice excuse not to use it, but that doesn't really help.
By lv2 charges do you mean the super pound? Tri really encourages non super pounds because pre-super pound charges combo into the triple pound (which is by far, stronger than the super pound) and super pounding is a bad habit for multi player (sending people flying away), so every chance I could avoid using it, I did.CheapChampagne said:That's a really good vid. Only difference between you and me is that I wait and use more lvl 2 charges (usually does more damage than a smaller combo with the lvl 1 upswing) and I immediately circle to hit his head when he's on the ground. It does a lot more damage than just going for body and since you usually still have enough time to triple pound it's a great way to make him dizzy for another 15 seconds of free punishing (oh and you break his beak which helps :] ). Nice job though.![]()
You travel with hops. Example: Qurupeco is gonna do the triple fire thing: you look left or right and backhop to dodge it. After the last hop you poke. Diagonal pokes are stronger than horizontal pokes. The trick to the lance is using the sidesteps and backhops... because you can do it 3 times in a row :Oupandaway said:I really don't get the lance.

abstract alien said:Lmao, someone at work just told me that one of the reasons MH is so hard and revolves around teamwork is due to the fact that you can actually hit your other teammates...is this true!? If so, then it will be quite a new dynamic I wasn't expecting to encounter in this type of game :lol
Johnlenham said:You can hit each other but it wont damage you.
I suppose indirectly as if they knock you over and then you get steamrolled by something you lose HP.
Avoid using that bullet during team play, your team mate will hate you.Chopper Dave said:My favorite class in the demo was gunner and my favorite ammo was the buckshot ammo(whatever its called). It would be pretty difficult not to hit allies when I'm spraying bullets all over the place. Will this screw other players the way you're talking about?

Plus super pounding is boring to watch on videos xD
Thanks for watching

It's very elegant once done right. Though personally I still think it's a bit boring to play with.
Nope, you can only change your hair or costume (those default one) later on.Cosmo Clock 21 said:Hey so I was wondering what character creation/customization was like. Found a video here (+related videos). Do you get the option later on to change your appearance similar to PSO's dressing room?
Nope, there is only Cha Cha in MH3. And I kinda like Cha Cha more cause he makes this funny sound.DragonGirl said:I have a question though. Can you still recruit the little cat people to take into battle? I know you can hire them but I'm unclear on what role they play in this game. I'm not too hot on the chacha critters.
You can make and have all types of weapons in your arsenal and pick what you like to use.Hiltz said:Question: When you start a new game, are you permanently stuck with the weapon class you chose at the beginning of the game or are you free to switch to a different weapon class later on ?
I assume the wyvern is the giant dragon thing?shahkur said:But guys, you wouldn't believe what happened to me in the 2nd mission. When fighting Qurupeco, I got its health down by quite a bit. It normally calls for backup and the JAGGI comes along. But on one of the tries when he called for help, the WYVERN came down and and just kicked the shit out of me. :lol What a suprise. Cant wait for the actual game to release.
StoOgE said:I've never played a Monster Hunter game but this looks interesting. What is the gameplay like? I've always assumed it was pokemon esque meets PSO sort of thing
Yes, "the giant dragon thing" is actually a wyvernHtown said:I assume the wyvern is the giant dragon thing?
Kyuuketsu_Night said:I donno where all the complaining about the camera comes from. Yeah, it's a little confusing at first but it's not that bad o.0 I can see it becoming a thoughtless process with practice.
Sort of, except that it's possible to reach the D-pad with your right thumb, so I'd say it was a little better.CheapChampagne said:If you haven't played MH on the PS2 or PSP the camera is quite a bit harder to use than on the Wii. On the Wii you can run and move the camera at the same time via the Right analog or D-pad on the Wiimote. Whereas on the PSP you have to move your thumb off the analog stick to the d-pad to rotate the camera. Only way to help out a bit more is you can center the camera with the Left shoulder button which is key for advanced hunting. I haven't actually played any MH on the PS2 but from what I hear the camera controls are identical to PSP.
Oh and then there's those who complain about the non-lockon feature. But that just leads to the argument of what makes MH what it is :lol.
You can also "finger hook", which is using your left index finger to control the camera (directional pad) while your left thumb stays on the analog stick. It's worked really well for me.CheapChampagne said:... Whereas on the PSP you have to move your thumb off the analog stick to the d-pad to rotate the camera.
I guess am the only one still using the crawling method for MH3, reason because I really like to use the right analog for attacking. Sometimes I use the 'finger hook' method or I will use my right thumb to run on the left analog and left thumb to pan the camera, depending on the situation.gotee12 said:You can also "finger hook", which is using your left index finger to control the camera (directional pad) while your left thumb stays on the analog stick. No. You can only trade common items. Equipment and crafting materials can not be traded so you actually need to work for your equipment. No twinking.Hiltz said:I'm not sure if this question has been answered yet, but does anyone know if Monster Hunter Tri will allow players to trade equipment (armor and/or weapons) for the online multiplayer ?

10 max per street.Teknoman said:So how many player characters can appear in the city?
Tenbatsu said:10 max per street.
More or less.Teknoman said:And the streets are like lobbies? Say: City -> Street -> set up room?
Yeah. You choose a server, arrive at the city gate, and pick a street to play in.Teknoman said:And the streets are like lobbies? Say: City -> Street -> set up room?
