Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Demo out [Updated: FAQ and Help]

http://youtu.be/2XoWHlDnSyM

Crank that up to 1080p and see for yourself. Personally I think the game is just gorgeous at 1080p and far less cramped, plus I find the 3D is sometimes annoying (and I usually leave 3D on in all games) especially when a monster, or part of them, gets between you and the screen. I'm still picking up both versions for transfarring though.

1080p? 60fps? Second analog? Wii U it is! Plus, can you play on the Gamepad?

Is the final code a lot more stable with the framerate? It's so disappointing in the demo, still buying the game either way.

I have no idea. Maybe someone else would know.

As for my Wii U question, looks like Gamepad support will be available in April's patch. Kind of cool to play a higher res MH game on the Gamepad with that 2nd analog! Makes me salivate for a Nintendo tablet, a portable Wii U gamepad.
45fps with semi frequent drops.

That's not bad. It's 1080p though, right?

Yup, 1080p.

Great! Wonder how that would look on the Wii U gamepad. Wouldn't mind playing this off screen while laying down on my floor or bed. Sounds fun.

I think the Gamepad would be just more comfortable. I played the PSP games and the lack of a 2nd analog was just really uncomfortable.

Finally beat the water monster. Took me about 15 minutes with the dual blades. I like the switch axe a lot, but I was never able to beat plesioth (?) with it. I feel accomplished and can go to bed happy.

If this bombs and we don't get MH4 i'm going to cry.
It's the #1 game on the GFAQs Wii U board. It won't bomb. Anything that can get more chatter than Smash Bros is doing well. There's a 30 post thread there right now filled with folks who bought the Wii U just for this game.

Hello, I've been thinking about getting a Circle Pad Pro for my 3DS to use with this game. But I wanted to know first if any bundles have been announced.

If not, I'll proceed to buy the CPP right away.

Really surprised by how well this runs on 3DS. Like, it's smooth as butter. I don't even remember the Wii version running that nicely. Props to Capcom for actually taking the time to work through the innards of the 3DS as opposed to doing a hack-job.

Wasn't there a good topic title picked out from the main thread? Or at least liked by a bunch of people.

There were a couple that received multiple mentions (like...about three or so standouts), but I don't know that one was ever definitively chosen.

Is Capcom charging Japan a monthly fee for this game like they did for Tri?

I believe MH 3 Ultimate HD is free for Japanese gamers as well. Nintendo helped reduce Capcom's long-term development costs by allowing it to use Nintendo's servers for the game. That way, Capcom doesn't have to pay for expensive server maintenance. MH Tri's online multiplayer will reportedly be shut down at the end of April, so it will have been available to use for 3 years overseas. Capcom would of probably shut it down a couple of months sooner had it not been for Capcom USA urging them to keep it on for a bit longer.

Thanks.

Plesioth is easier then I thought. Though I do need more time as I ran out on my first run against it and ended up using a lot of potions. Figured why not give it a shot. Wish there was an easier way of keeping it on land. Was using a great sword. Might try it with dual blades and sword and shield. Might be able to do it with those.

Is he any harder to fight them the normal one? (Other than having more HP/DEF)
Qurupeco's occasional pecking rush and other quick moves like that were the only ways to get hit. The jumping flint bursts and his other moves won't ever hit you when you know the basics of dodging.

Red Peco is a homage to Gypceros (much like Thunder Gigginox is a homage to Khezu).

The only new major move to worry about is the Flash Bomb-like stun (a la Gobul or Gypceros).

I had a pretty good one from that thread:

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate |OT| Sven's Revenge HD

Neato!

Some men have greatness thrust upon them.

I figured it'd be you or Sammy.

He was actually going to do it before it was announced as Ultimate, then I wanted to do the Ultimate thread, and he bowed out. I still feel bad about that. :/

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate |OT| Pass Capcom's "test" or it's goodbye to the West

It's still published by NoE in Europe (like tri), and I don't think they'd ignore the thousands of mh fans all over europe. So maybe goodbye NA, but even that sounds very unlikely.

Published by NoE, not localized, Capcom has the final say. It's not like Europe got MHP3rd.

What "Tri Tri Tri again" one? Was it something like: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate |OT| If at first you don't succeed, Tri Tri Tri again

Yes. that is it.
I remember seeing it at some point last month when I was lurking. If someone could find the original post. Its either in this thread or the other MH thread.
I couldnt find it myself.

sony obviously had no interesst in bringing p3rd over. I am sure they could've if they wanted to. not sure what that has to do with nintendo and mh4. Nintendo showed much more initiative in the west since they "took over" the franchise.

Also, it wouldn't be the first time for NoE to publish AND localise a more risky /3rd party) title. Even though, I wouldn't call monster hunter risky anymore. Ofc, capcom would have the last word, but why would they stop them? It's free money.

I have absolutely no worries that it will eventually come over.

I think it was actually, 'If at first you don't succeed, try Tri again."

Either way, brilliant suggestion from whomever came up with it.

I forgot this was even a thing. Seems surprising to me that they would have ever dropped the fee considering how frenziedly ripe that market is when it comes to this franchise.
It might have something to do with it being a new system, and they don't want to push it. Or maybe they want to offer something over the 3DS version, which doesn't have online. Or maybe it's because Nintendo is helping them out. One of those, or some combination...

Is it just me, or is anyone more excited about getting this on the 3DS as opposed to the Wii U?

We just got our Wii U yesterday. I'm super excited about Monster Hunter but meh about getting it on the Wii U. Day one purchase on 3DS though. Something about being able to play it portable, in 3D, with good graphics and online play.
