Short of the most basic ones all monsters have a quest you have to have cleared for the GQ to drop.
For Oroshi Kirin to drop you have to have beaten the Dalamadur that you get when you get to HR100.

You can receive all GQs that's no problem.

Well sorry to hear most ppl seem to have trouble with this, it's something that either goes super well or fails massively.

Black Gravios is surprisingly easy to dominate with an LBG. Just stay directly to his sides or behind him between his wings and tail, then pump him full of rapid-fire water shot. When he turns to face me, I just sheathe, scurry around behind him again, and go back to shooting. I'm far enough away to avoid his clouds and never in range of his sweeping beam. Down in 11 minutes on my second try, though I'm going to need to catch more Whetfish pretty soon.

I just wish I could get a couple of Gravios Medullas to turn up in the quest rewards.

He shows up again after HR7? I guess its something else to dread in the future. Thanks for the info though. I though Oroshi Kirin unlocked after Guild 7* Stop the Wheel (reddit).

Now that I made G rank I made some Konchu Vambraces X that fit in well with the Tetsucabra S armor for the time being. However, I am so tired of looking at the Tetsucabra armor. I use horn so Maestro is an important skill and I would like to use Evade. What should be my goal for armor? Barioth X? Tetsucabara again (ugh)? Regios X armor? Do most people rock their high rank armor until G2 or so? I need to earn a lot more cash before I can do anything, so I have time to think it over.

Also, any tips to make money expeditiously?

Which monsters make you guys feel the worst when they're limping?

Something about Brachydios, poor little guy looks punched out and it's like his mum called him to go back home lol

Yeah, I grossly underestimate the range of a hammer attack, I just end up whiffing in front of Rajang. I had one run where I got one horn down on the pitfall stage, but I stupidly didn't bring extra traps so I couldn't end that one well. Gonna keep cracking at it.

Kecha Wacha. Guys have that big bulby eyes that makes it looks very innocent. Feel very sad everytime I kill it so I try to capture as much as possible :(

Half an hour farming and I have my Garuga armour. Besides a plus of 100 defense and finally owning something not weak against fire, I can get some pretty awesome skills in there. Right now I'm rocking:

HGE
Critical Eye +2
Attack Up (S)
Razor Sharp
Thunder Res +15


Alternatively I can get Attack Up (L) if I drop the Thunder Res and lower the earplugs to normal.

Shame it looks so ugly and I will change it as fast as possible once I reach G-Rank.

Edit: Oh, could even get HGE and Attack Up (L) with Torso-Up legs. But don't wanna mix pieces, full sets or nothing!

Well I've reached the credits roll for the single player stuff, of all the late HR caravan lineup of monsters that Frenzied Brachydios was the real boss, I would've thought myself a dab hand and this fella by now seeing as I sported his G rank carcass as my armour in 3 Ultimate but damn he can still put the fear of triple carting into me.
The monster I love to hate.

You capture it and get its bones, pelt, ears etc. You're just sentencing it to horrific torture anyway =p

So I want to make Gore Magala's Charge Blade, but I can't get his fucking tail no matter what. I've tried at least 4 times, and always kill him before. So, what would be the better weapon and strategy to get it?

Fucking did it. Needed extra traps (and that fucker jumped off when I planted a 2nd pitfall), but a good leap slam cracked both horns. Sadly, I didn't get the Ghoulish version, but it's doable at least!

Hello Mon Huns, I don't have a 3DS but am interested in Monster Hunter. Is it worth grabbing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U? I've been holding off because it'd be better to play with other people (strangers don't bother me so I'll take what I can get) but is it not even worth trying to play the Wii U version? Wanted to ask here cause I figure it's the best place.

And yeah it seems most rooms these days are urgent based. Whenever I find a room to farm a monster almost immediately after the player posts their urgent. Everyone leaves after that.

Had to kick a player from my farming room that kept trying to push us to do his urgent (he was High Rank while we were G Rank) and kept saying once we do his urgent he'd leave. Nope, not happening.

Haha, I used to be all about capture because I have weird remorse from killing some of these things...and then I realized that the parts I get had to come from SOMETHING.

You can get 3U for pretty cheap these days. Or at least it's pretty cheap on Amazon. 4U is flat out better in every way IMO, including its introductions for new players, but 3U is solid. Try the demo on Wii U first and see what you think.
