I am a gigantic Monster Hunter fan, I’ve been playing the series for decades. And I will never touch this mobile game, even if it cured cancer.PSA: Monster Hunter Now (the mobile game) has a Wilds collab going on where you can get some pretty amazing layered armor. Hope it makes the jump into Wilds itself someday lol

I feel the same, I just dont do mobile games no matter how much I love the series.I am a gigantic Monster Hunter fan, I’ve been playing the series for decades. And I will never touch this mobile game, even if it cured cancer.
Good for you, give yourself a pat on the back for sticking to your ideals.I feel the same, I just dont do mobile games no matter how much I love the series.
Nier Reincarnation sucked so it was an easy skip. If it was actually good, you'd have been singing a different tune... but Taro's gacha games seem to always be subpar (to put it nicely).Heck I didn't even bother with Nier Reincarnation even tho I'm huge Nier/Drakengard fanboy.
I dont do mobile F2P gacha game regardless of quality this also why I dont play games like Genchin Impact or Wuthering Waves.Nier Reincarnation sucked so it was an easy skip. Just pointing out that on PS5 the game seems to count hours in suspended mode as well.Did some math. Been about 11 days since release. So 264 hours and they have played 206. Leaving 58 hours for other things. Crazy.
Same, I love Nier , but I just couldn’t play the mobile game.I feel the same, I just dont do mobile games no matter how much I love the series.

I know that what I meant was I don't know who was the dude named Guts (our squad leader) here in the thread's user nameGriffith from Berserk

thats the only hunting you gonna get in MHWildsI do kind of like how hunting for crown monsters actually sort of feels like hunting. Riding around the map to scope out 5 or 6 monsters with the binoculars feels kind of right. And then it's awesome that when you fight one it automatically makes a quest, and then someone in your link party can simply join it.
What I need to test though is if creating an investigation of a monster saves the monster size... Would be fun to save crown monsters and run them SOS to spread the crown wealth lol
Lol I know right, this game is so uneven... So much feels so good but then so much feels half baked or non existent.thats the only hunting you gonna get in MHWilds
Yes, you can save crown monsters as investigations.
If I shook my head any harder my neck would snap:
Talk about utterly clueless, no wonder the story and characters are trash, the producer thinks it's *good*! Literally one of the *worst* parts about Monster Hunter Wilds
Hit HR50, even the post game has been a relative cakewalk. Overall I've had a blast despite my criticisms but I'm nearing the point where maybe I've had my fill and it's time to move on, the game should have and could have been a lot more.

You have to remember this game was developed during DEI airspace. When you go through the forest and Alma is all like "So MuCh DiVeRsiTy!" I was just...Talk about utterly clueless, no wonder the story and characters are trash
Honestly, I'm trying to give the story a chance but every time the kid speaks I want to skip and end up doing so. I'm at end of chapter 3 and can't really tell what's going on. Monsters destroying villages and stuff and need to die, but it's sad? Something like that.Story for me was 100% skip skip. Reminds of Phantasy Star Online the story "campaign" is throw away.
Eh they just injected more Resident Evil into their games. They just can't help themselves. I'm not too deep in MH lore but the yolo Wyverian split is a bit much and reminiscent of Star Wars. Seems like Wyverians split up the same way the OG Force users split into Jedi and Sith.Say what you want about story and their delivery, I do actually like the big mystery surrounding core story with the ancient civilizations and how they were cloning monsters and used them as weapons for war.
Here is the story. You hunt monsters and used them as weapons to fight the next monster. All this because the people are scared of/ don't like monsters. Since video games have game play that's really the reason I need to keep on keeping on.Honestly, I'm trying to give the story a chance but every time the kid speaks I want to skip and end up doing so. I'm at end of chapter 3 and can't really tell what's going on. Monsters destroying villages and stuff and need to die, but it's sad? Something like that.
It's so dreadfully clichéd and dull.Honestly, I'm trying to give the story a chance but every time the kid speaks I want to skip and end up doing so. I lived through Metroid: Other M. I'm here to tell you this is the Monster Hunter version. And that's me being nice about it.I don't know how people do it, really.
They killed the feel of exploration and hunting, its more a Boss rush game now imoI finally dragged my ass through chapter 1. I am actually honestly shocked how awful everything about this. I can not come up with one good thing to say about this game, besides the cutscenes look pretty.
I don't know how people do it, really. If this were my first entry into Monster Hunter I would've been done after half an hour. Everything I liked about Monster Hunter World (exploration, beautiful world, story that is very much cheesy af but not obnoxious) is missing here. For the life of me I can not understand anyone praising anything about this.
inb4 "it's only chapter1"; I know, I wouldn't usually post something like this that early, but this game really annoys the shit out of me like other games do rarely. Believe when I'm saying I am genuinely trying to somehow enjoy this.
I've only played Worlds before Wilds, but wasn't that basically a boss rush game as well? They killed the feel of exploration and hunting, its more a Boss rush game now imo
The feel of exploration and hunting in World IS better, in World since u didnt had a mount you need to walk, and by walking you explored more, in order to find field camps, Palico gadgets, monsters "fluids" for investigations, everything made the feel of exploration and hunting better in World.I've only played Worlds before Wilds, but wasn't that basically a boss rush game as well?
That's what I felt was a bit offputting about World, the mission-based game design.
There already was barely any exploration and 'hunting' was just following those fireflies from 'lead' to 'lead', so they just streamlined that part and actually added some exploration in Wilds by making it more open-world (compared to World).
Just my two cents.
Honestly, by walking it just took more time to 'explore' the same amount as I do an my Seikret and the leads only added more. You were still following fireflies regardless. The feel of exploration and hunting in World IS better, in World since u didnt had a mount you need to walk, and by walking you explored more, in order to find field camps, Palico gadgets, monsters "fluids" for investigations, everything made the feel of exploration and hunting better in World.
Like you said, "they streamlined that part" so the feel even If It was shalow is now lost, at least for me.
Yes, you will unlock it very soon. Do the optional quests you will start getting to unlock more.I think the story is over. I’m in “chapter 4” where I’m finally introduced to High Rank stuff.
Question. Is there a system in place like in World or Rise where I can have the game farm certain items for me automatically over time? I used to have them get me traps and tranquilizer materials.
Monster Hunter has always been a boss rush game????They killed the feel of exploration and hunting, its more a Boss rush game now imo
show the clip?So maybe someone can help here I'm at the capture quest that seems to be still part of main missions even tho I hit the credits, it's capturing a yian kut ku... I capture it but it didn't count it said it was captured, I saved a clip of it and rewatched it and it didn't count. Is there something else I could be missing?
show the clip?
There is. And you are going to LOVE how convenient it is by talking to the farm management npc.I think the story is over. I’m in “chapter 4” where I’m finally introduced to High Rank stuff.

It didn't count because it wasn't the target, you can see the target yian kut ku on the bottom of your map, however you can actually reset the target by going back to your tent iirc, it will then retarget the one with the lowest health, otherwise always just fight the target in these specific (tutorial) quests. He just laid there and then got up and vanished. But this quest just been weird because there was no true tutorial so had been fiddling with it awhile now but thought I captured him and was done.
Ahhh, got ya man...
