I feel like they had a lot of good will after Payday 2, and then they just totally shit the bed with Payday 3. I’ve been waiting for a deep sale on console, but as a solo player I don’t even think that will be worth it.

Its super cheap on PS5 right now. Just bought Year 1 edition with all the DLCs for $23. Base game is $12 I think.

Clearly they've worked out a lot of the issues, feels good to me as someone who's been playing since payday 1 on ps3.

But is it a fun game in single player? Take COD Zombies, for example. It's fine to play solo but it isn't fun in solo like it is in multiplayer.

I mean they did just add solo mode so you get some bots to help you, but they're basically targets and you have to do all the real work for yourself. I find it enjoyable but I think part of that is that I've just played the franchise since the beginning. I have been trying to get some friends to jump in at that price cause its definitely a much better experience if you've got at least one other person with you. So yeah probably similar to COD Zombies, where its fine to play but way better with some friends.

An enhanced edition of Payday 2 with a more polished visual presentation (not even modern graphics, just the old visual style but without the rough edges, i.e. higher quality shadows, textures, geometry, etc), some bugfixes and slightly tweaked AI, revised level design/enemy behavior to better support solo stealth, and a couple of quality of life improvements... would turn the game into a real masterpiece.

The base game is pretty dead, no content and I told my friends to buy it. There is like 5 missions or something, lol.
Lots of weapons are dlc only as well. Last time I got tricked by them.

Yeah the moment a company gives vague and abstract lines like “we’re confident we can deliver value for fans” you know it’s already over.

This game is dead and it’s been dead since release because you pushed it out the door as a completely broken, unfinished mess. It was nowhere near ready but you greedy little fucks released it anyway.
