MS Gamer’s Day: Viva Pinata 2 contains option to skip all tutorials
MS Gamer’s Day: Viva Pinata 2 offline co-op confirmed

Hahaha that made me laugh. Ok I was thinking in the original game I hated when the sours and ruffians entered and just roughed up your garden sometimes. So it would have been nice if you could like take a mugshot of them and train your tougher pinatas to rough them up.

...is that a massive anaconda (or some other kind of giant snake) in the back of this shot?

No, it's a pipe that's coming out of the volcano shown in a few of the other pictures.

Oh, wow! I didn't even notice that on the door. (I didn't even look at the full-size picture, I was only looking at the thumbnails on page 1, hence I had no idea there was a desert shot with camels!)

Yea, the game got much better once you put down the sword statue and they stopped coming to your garden.

Nothing is more annoying that spending an hour attracting a Fizzlybear then having one of the ruffians destroy him.

Also would have been nice if you could somehow change up the colours of some of the pinatas when they become residents.

It was really expensive though and not just that but I wouldn't have known to do that if it wasn't just accidental or reading an faq.

Holy shit there's a giant Bananaconda (?) in one of those too.
Are you suuuuuure that's a pinata? Look at the picture with the volcano in the background, this "Bananaconda" you speak of is coming out of the top of the volcano and running through the backgrounds of a few other shots.

You know, the more I think about, the more that I'm looking forward to Banjo having it's emphasis on vehicles... I know GAF will hate me for it, but platformers racers are awesome, and with added benefits of multiplayer, destruction, and platforming with them... :D

Videogaming247 are actually citing my two articles on the games :)

Cluck Norris is a chicken I made in Viva Piñata (1), my only really cool pinata design, and what I basically said in the article is that I'm excited about being able to share a design/customization like this with the new card system.

Yea, it was. Funny thing is, it's a game built for kids, but if I was a young gamer I'd be extremely frustrated with all the sours and ruffians constantly coming into my garden.

Now I realllly want it to be a piñata.

Don't think of the vehicles as racers. It's much more than that. Build cars, tanks, boat, submarines, helicopters, planes... and build them to help solve the missions. If the missions are well-designed, the game might be the first one ever to truly allow for creative freedom to solve missions. It's all down to mission design though, which I think will make or break this game.

Yeah, so basically the vehicles are more like tools which you can make to help you complete a mission/task. So although they are 'vehicles', by calling them vehicles it is probably doing the game and concept a disservice.

Imagine if that ''pipe'' was a boss and you get to fight with your pinata :O .

By the way can you build/design your own house this time round.? Also will you be able to do anything else with dragonasche (?) if he is back that is I mean even though he's the rarest he was the most boring to me.

I like the new direction they are taking with Banjo 3. I would have never expected such a fresh take with the vehicle customization (kind of like getting DKR and Banjo in the same game). VP2 should be far more intuitive with the interface (I already like what I see), not to mention the added interactivity between pinatas and enviros. KI 3D better come to fruition. Mainly for a Kirkhope/Wise collaboration (Kirkhope on guitar and Wise on percussion).

Or it could be that Otogi was one of the greatest and most underappreciated action series ever made, and another game from the same brain would be a slice of heaven.

I am seriously in a lot of trouble at work today, can I focus with the possibility of the second best action game of last gen being followed up or remade or even another game from the mind of the orginal producer would be a slice of pure gold. Served from the middle of a pussycat dolls Angelina Jolie, Keeley and Gemma Atkins oil wrestling match. And the the oil is honey.

Excellent, I will buy Banjo, Fable and VP2.

I think VP2 has a good opportunity at doing really well; the first one has been bundled heavily so there should be a decent fanbase for the game.

We've been referring to them internally as contraptions.

I was only thinking of them as racers in the multiplayer sense as you talked about the mode with checkpoints in the other thread. I'm not just looking at it as a DKR or anything :lol

Yeah, that makes far more sense. I think that'd be a far better way to explain them, as this whole 'vehicle' term is steering most people in the completely wrong direction.

A platformer mixed with the incredible machine?

Oh my, Oh yes indeedy.

Is it weird for me to be most excited about how they'll sound? Like a really rickety, chitty chitty bang bang kind of exploding cacophony of craziness?

Well some people are already running with the ''a large focus on vehicles'' which at face value suggests just collecting and building.

I loved Viva Pinata, but I hope they fix the loading (when entering the menu / shops) because it was a bit too much.

Yes, contraptions is a far better word, no doubt about it. Hopefully a video will soon clean up this mess...

If you google "Banjo Kazooie 3 + racing game" you'd be surprised at all the articles that have had to report that it's in fact NOT a racing game. Apparently, this new iteration being seen as a racer is the general consensus.

Where did that Killer Instinct picture come from?

Was it leaked or shown as part of a presentation of this Gamers Day?

Guessing it's a picture from the Rare office where people played Banjo.

Seems like a red-herring to me.

It was a picture randomly at Gamer's Day, but it uses extremely old art for the first or second KI game and is probably just Rare fucking with everyone.

No, it was a picture I took while I was at Rare. It was in one of the developer barns, just hanging there on the wall. As I've said before, don't bet too much on it meaning anything...

Someday we'll look back on all that scuttlebutt and laugh. Someday meaning three and a half hours from now.

I hope we can keep/reuse our previous gardens and piñatas.

With the Pinartic area i suppose the Jeli (yeti) will pay us a visit.

Btw, the most irritating for me were the swananas in VP1, too cooky, always fighting.

Agree, at least please make allow much more items per garden so this time is possible to really customize how you want each of them.
