They filmed this show almost every day at my family's bar and grill. We had more of a problem with locals causing problems for MTV than we did because of the people on the show.

I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of my bar on eventually because they had a major incident one night where the shortest girl gets punched in the face by a drunk customer. You can see parts of it on their coming attractions for the season at the end of last night's episode.

unless i go up north i never hear the "typical" accent. most people you'll meet from NJ sound completely normal.

I lived in IL for 3 years and the most asked question I got was "how did you lose your accent?"

What you are thinking of as New Jersey is probably more accurately Staten Island and Long Island instead.

It's not everyone, you won't see every Italian being super tan with spikey hair or a poof fighting about hair gel. Sure, there are a lot, but just as many aren't. It's just a local thing, like accents...why do New Yorkers talk like New Yorkers? It just happens. These kids start really young and think they look good tanning and with wild hair and it gets worse when they get old enough to add alcohol. It really isn't everyone.
