Multiple people shot at Wisconsin Sikh temple

The guy shot the cop multiple times before the cop killed him. Maybe he intended to get killed eventually, or maybe he was going to flee. Doesn't really matter.

And a lot of the countries with the least guns and strictest gun controls have out of control gun crime.

  1. Police officer responded to incident. Was shot.
  2. Suspect then engaged another police officer in close vicinity. Suspect was shot dead by this second officer.
  3. Authorities believe there was only one suspect but cannot confirm that
  4. 7 dead, and 3 injured including that first police officer
  5. Shooting officially declared act of domestic terrorism & the FBI is now in charge

Next press conference tomorrow at 10am local time
 
I hope something good can come out of this horrific act. These type of crap has been going on post 9/11 to many minorities in individual levels. hopefully this forces media attention toward this issue.
 
What is with these shootings?

Suicide-Murders are much more effective than Murder-Suicides. I wish these idiots would just point their guns at their own heads before they EVER point it at another human.



That said, my heart and prayers go out to the families of the victims. Not to the family of the suspect.

There's a difference between gangbangers shooting each other in the streets and a psychopath stepping into a temple and massacring unarmed worshipers inside. Do you purposefully try to be a dumbass or is it natural?
 
I really hope he didn't leave any prepared videos for news networks to replay over and over like he's a celebrity like they did with the Virginia Tech shooter.

Well, violent crime is at it's lowest level in 30 years and has decreased overall since colonial times.

The average IQ also trends upwards on a regular basis.

So despite the occasional horrific act, the country is becoming less violent and more intelligent.

Damn guns... Should be heavily restricted in my view. Maybe there should be a strict test administered before you can use one. Maybe the "gun culture" should be discouraged, in favour of a more utilitarian view.

Also, what the fuck did these Sikhs do, anyway?
 
Watching TV at work and they are evacuating 2 to 3 blocks in Cudahy, wtf is going on? My family doesn't live near those blocks but a friend of mine does, I'll try asking him about it. They are speculating it's related to the suspect, fuck...

It's amazing how many people associate Sikhs with 9/11 and terrorism in general. I guess all the pics/videos of Osama and his peeps in turbans has been imprinted into the public consciousness.

While I try and find a working version, here is the gist of it:

Columns from left to right:

Firearms per 100 people; Firearms homicides per 100,000 people; Total Percentage of homicides by firearms out of total homicides; Total number of firearms homicides.

For reference, the top most row is the US. The data rows are ordered by number of firearms per 100 people. The further down you get, the less legal guns there are in the hands of citizens.

US numbers:

88.8 firearms per 100 people; 2.97 homicides by gun per 100,000; 60% homicides are by gun; 10,129 total homicides by gun.

For reference:

The huge black blob about halfway down is Brazil with 8 guns per 100 people (very strict gun control there); 18.1 homicides per 100,000; 70.8% of all murders done with a gun; 34,678 homicides by gun

The data is a cumulative from census bureaus, WHO, Police dept. data etc.

Of course, I will find and post a working pic, but the people who are anti-gun will ignore the data anyway or rationalize it away some how. That is pretty typical.
 
My friend was evacuated he said apparently there may be a bomb.in a house nearby. Another friend says it's where the shooter lives.
(house in Cudahy) they are evacuating a few blocks

I'm muslim, so I would be just as upset if a mosque would have been shot up. But man, it's gotta be a raw deal to be Sikh and have this happen over something that they wen't even responsible for. You'd think that a dude with a 9/11 tattoo would have read up enough on the subject to realize that Sikhs had absolutely nothing to do with that horrific event.

It's like the guy on TV said... it's bad enough if this were a crime toward the Muslim people, since they were not responsible for 9/11 as a whole. So it's just as awful that the Sikh's, who also have nothing to do with 9/11 or muslims, get the raw deal :(
 
Do they not teach you about world religions in America? I was taught about most religions in primary school at the age of 8!
