My 14th gen Intel CPU has degraded, time to switch to AMD i guess

I am currently saving for my next all-AMD build. They never let me down but I have been screwed by weird shit on Intel 3 times. Same for nvidia weird driver shit while AMD was always fine. Maybe not the most super ultra cutting edge, but always more reliable, predictable, and manageable.
Historically it was always AMD with the terrible drivers. Not sure what they're like nowadays though.

Nvidia recent drivers... Yeah well the YT videos and OverHeat OverHeat thread will attest they haven't been their usual optimum.

My Intel i9-14900KF ate shit this past weekend. I was getting more & more app & game crashes, followed by eventually getting to the point that nothing would launch at all without trying multiple times. In the process of troubleshooting I updated BIOS, reset OS, etc, but in the end it just reached a point whre it was getting so many event log errors for CPU related issues I threw in the towel. My previous build was AMD, and I am really doubting my past self's sanity for not sticking with them. Have a Ryzen 9 7900X in a new motherboard with AIO cooling now. Didn't even have to reload OS, everything was just happy again, no issues.
Been going through the hoops now to RMA the Intel chip. I bought it in Nov of 2023, so it's still well within warranty, but they will prob want to just send me a replacement chip back. Going to push for a refund, and if they won't, I'll possibly see what Amazon will say. No doubt it's been far too long, but these chips were def some bullshit.

dont worry, you will feel right at home once you get a 9800X3D and an Asrock motherboard.

My X870E was dead lmao

Having had a 9800X3D as my first desktop AMD chip since.. well 25 years

It is amazing. Stable and just so fast. My 14700K still works but those that shitty P/E core design just makes it unreliable for game performance. Sometimes things ran fine, sometimes not

This CPU just has rock solid performance in every game I throw at it

Sold on AMD now for sure

yeah my 13900k got hit with the degradation back last year probably in may. I have just kept it since I sadly got mine second hand. I do wish there was some way in which I could get something back for this but not sure. My mobo is sick but yeah I have been eyeing that 9800x3d. im basically done with intel for the foreseeable future
