As we celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary, I’m thrilled to introduce My First Gran Turismo, a special free-to-play invitation to dive into the exhilarating world of motorsports. This experience holds a special place in my heart, as it pays tribute to the origins of the first Gran Turismo, where players of all generations discovered the joys of driving. Whether it’s introducing kids to the joy of racing for the first time or reigniting a forgotten passion for driving, My First Gran Turismo was designed to be both approachable and immersive, created for everyone, with no limits on age or driving skill level.

My First Gran Turismo will be available through PlayStation Store December 6 at 12:00am local time.

This isn’t just about playing a game; it’s about embarking on a personal driving journey. We’ve made sure the experience is intuitive, allowing anyone to get behind the wheel and master the essentials, such as cornering, braking, and acceleration. By playing it, users will build confidence one lap at a time, tackling new challenges that’ll steadily refine their driving skills.

Find the perfect line

Set records, chase achievements, and take on a range of challenges. There are three Race Events, three Time Trials, three Music Rally stages, as well as a full suite of License Tests, all of which allow users to simply experience the thrill of driving.

Embrace the diversity of the drive

Included are 18 unique cars, each with its own personality. Players will drive them on iconic tracks that some Gran Turismo veterans may find nostalgic, namely the Kyoto Driving Park, Deep Forest Raceway, and Trial Mountain Circuit.

Full PlayStation VR2 Support (PS5 only)

My First Gran Turismo also has full PlayStation VR2 support, allowing you to experience a whole new level of driving realism and highly immersive gameplay.

Whether you’re here for the sheer joy of driving or on a quest to master your craft, My First Gran Turismo offers everything you need to elevate your skills while reveling in the thrill of motorsports.

We can’t wait for everyone to experience My First Gran Turismo when it launches on December 6 on PS5 and PS4.

Very cool.

I'm guessing it won't have VR support sadly.
It actually comes with full PSVR 2 support. Going to add more info to the OP shortly.

I'll definitely check this out despite having over 100 hours in GT7 purely based on curiosity.

Slightly off topic but for anybody that likes Gran Turismo games and have access to a modded PS2/PCSX2/or speak Japanese (game is JP only originally) the game Racing Battle C1 Grand Prix just got translated recently and it's great fun. It's made my Genki which is the people that made the Shutokou Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, and did the Wangan Midnight games. Definitely worth checking out.

DustinEden did a video/stream on it so I checked it out and it's great.
I'll try it. Haven't played a GT since PS2.
GT7 is amazing, and if you happen to have a PSVR2 it's probably the single best VR experience I've ever had alongside Alyx.

When i saw the "My First Gran Turismo Trailer" upload on youtube i was so confused that i thought you could make trailers on Gran Turismo.

Anyway, nice initiative. It could bring some extra players to the game for sure!

So, is it the whole game people get to play for free?

Awesome! More games need to bring back demos, i wonder what the stats show, how many convert into full purchase.

Nope, on content and features. Maybe if Nixxes did it, but bothering Polyphony to port and maintain a third version would be dumb.

Yea my guess for why some of these games aren't coming to PC is that the studios just aren't setup for that. I bet GT team doesn't want anyone else touching their game either. They seem very passionate and protective of GT.

just give away the full ps4 game you cheap bastards.

To be fair.....aren't you the cheap bastard since you could just buy the game since it's on sale now.

GOOD!

On the PC version yes?
They will probably port once GT 7 stops recieving updates. As it stands, Sony and PD probably don't want to spend time having to optimise each update for numerous platforms, PD just isn't big enough for that. I think GT7 will probably recieve it's last update next year, so you should expect a pc port next year or the next. With gt8 releasing 2027.

Cool. I picked up GT7 on sale for BF to go along with the PSVR2 i also picked on BF sale since i really liked Drive Club VR. I prefer arcade racers to sims, so if this gives me that, i can return GT7.

Now this is the way for Sony to make some nice freemium game, maybe gaas someday. Nor like concord or other shitty games as foamstars, etc.
