Well the OP contains scenes from
USJ
so that'll probably be the last arc it covers.

Yeah you're probably right. I originally thought it was going to cover much more than that. Not upset by it just a bit shocked considering how fast the manga moves and by how much madhouse covered with One Punch Man in 12 episodes (40 some odd chapters).

Boku no hero will probably get to chapter ~23. 2-2.5 chaps per episode from now on.

Well, the timeslot it's airing in is locked down with Arslan next season and then two cours of Gundam, so it had to be 1 cour apparently.

I expect the second season to be 2 cour.

I'm surprised. Based on the way he dresses, the name of his attacks, his engrish, and his hair (though I guess this doesn't matter in most anime) I thought he was supposed to be the boastful american hero expy.

I mean, he clearly is, on some level. Author loves his cape comics.

But it's still a Manga/Anime, can't have a main character who's not at least half-Japanese :p

I keed, I keed.

There's also the whole thing of the american fucking flag being behind him.

Only 2 episodes in and it already feels like this show suffers from one piece fluff. Sso many drawn out scenes saying the same thing over and over again.

Still will watch cause its a cool concept though

a target of two chapters per episode would make the most sense.

you could then pump out 24-26 episodes a year and never have to resort to filler or have long breaks.

hopefully this is quite successful and it keeps coming back.

I don't mind if Bones takes their time if it means that I don't have to wait for a My Hero Academikai :p

I still expect that once naruto (anime) ends that they are just gonna start back over and dbz kai it lol.

Can't believe I forgot this. So yeah, how is someone supposed to think he's anything but a pure bred American stallion?
Though I guess Manga readers probably know his real name and more backstory.

All Might is largely inspired by western superheroes, especially Golden-Age/Silver-Age which were very patriotic. Mainly Superman but largely Shazam. One thing you'll see often is that some characters are based of not only certain comics themes but certain ages in comics.

Weird that he is going to now be able to just take someone elses quirk after putting so much emphasis on being born without the ability...

Pacing a little all over the place, I hope they get into the academy quick so we can get some more characters

I think the point was that even though he didn't have the body of a hero he still had the spirit of one but that wasn't going to be enough. There's no way they could have written it any other way as even super intelligence is a quirk in this world.

crossposting from animus thread

boku no hero 2

this is melodramatic as shit sometimes but i'm not afraid to admit: when that punch hit my heart fucking soared, and when deku was doing his thing near the end with all might a tear hit my eyes. it's so earnest it hurts.

good bgm too

seriously this show is so fucking good. holy shit.

I thought it would be boring considering it's like the opposite of OPM but shares similar concept. Boy I was wrong.

This show is pretty good so far. Really tempted to read the manga, but I think I can keep myself to only watching the anime only...until it ends or diverge from manga that is.

Next episode is gonna be funny as hell and people are gonna be real surprised by Deku's training I bet.

As All Might said, we gotta get the kid buff

It's not going to diverge from the manga. It's just going to end before anything happens.

Another really good episode, even if I still think it's a bit too slow.
Loved All Might and his random engrish.

God, my dick is right on the precipice. I really want next weeks episode for the good stuff I need.

Besides me being left a lil blue balled, episode was damn good. Tackled everything in those chapters pretty well to me. Only gag I remember left out is Deku saying All Might's name out loud at the beach and some passerby people hearing it. Just a lil gag joke, but not terribly missed. Enjoyed the VAs for the new characters and think they fit pretty well.

I wonder how many people this week encountered the two things of oh god training, oh good it's a montage and wait, what happened deku mom?

My Hero Academia 3

Training and timeskip and from this point the "real" anime begins. Anyway, I noticed that they had some more intense black lines on certain scenes, creating the illusion of depth, pretty cool.

The show is still slow as an adaptation, they're still on the first half of chapter 3, but I still don't feel that it drags. Though, it's a shame that it took a while to introduce more characters than Deku, Bakugo and All Might.

Oh, and best girl appears. I find it really amusing that the voice actress is the same behind Charlotte's Nao, she will NAIL some later scenes. I can't wait.

My Hero Academia - 03

Another excellent episode. I never would have thought there would someday be an anime adaption of a weekly manga, where the 3rd episode didn't even finish the 3rd chapter. And yet nothing feels boring or dragging.
The soundtrack is so uplifting.

I love the sequence of All Might products at the beginning.

NANSENS

I really love the ONE FOR ALL light ball sequence.

YES THAT MUSIC IS BACK, AND WITH LYRICS.

pixel art??

Really slow episode, the first half felt double its run time, but Midoriyas talking to himself scenes are perfect.

I dislike upper body Midoriya, he bacame so unappealing which is why I like kaminari way more, kirishima too and bakugou.

Bakugou saving Midoriya a seat was the kindest thing.
screw the number theory
He continues to say one thing and mean another.

Also tenyas legs are huge, how can he even put on pants and shorts.

This episode finally got my partner to pay attention haha. She realised that All Might's VA is Scar and I think that tipped it.

I really enjoyed it. I'm a huge sucker for underdog stories and this fits that for me.

The soundtrack in this show is great. They are doing such a good job with this adaption. They are certainly not rushing through the manga chapters and the pacing feels just right.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I'm impressed with the show's pacing. It's not rushing through several chapters like a lot of other manga adaptations but it's quick enough that you don't feel bored.
Checking the manga, so far it's covered two chapters and the first half of Chapter 3. Also, they cut out the Mario references included in Chapter 3. I've noticed that with a lot of anime adaptations, references and fourth-wall jokes tend to get cut for the anime.

Holy shit I need a fucking gif of All Might's "Oh my...oh my...GOODNESS!" Lost my shit.

Also, I'm not a fan of how they do Deku's mumbling. The impression I got from the manga because it was all in one or two big word panels was that he mumbles really really fast and that's why it fills up the space so much but in the anime he just...talks normally. It's weird.

In anime, you actually have to have a physical person talk that fast, which is kind of hard.

I never really got the impression that he was talking really fast. Just him mumbling and in his own little world for a while. I liked how the anime did it.

The OST is fantastic, I wanna go back and watch the montage because of that.

Well you saw what happened with Osomatsu ep 1 and all those references, so I imagine its better for anime to not do that many references
