Well, this ep I totally predicted that he'd end up fighting the 0-point robot because of saving somebody, get no points, but pass because of heroism
But I was also completely convinced he wouldn't get superpowers. I thought All Might was fucking with him as a placebo and to get him to exercise, haha. So that scene was pretty unexpected. And also pretty hype.
Honestly the idea of All Might fucking with him would have been hilarious. "Midoriya, my boy, look at all this awesome power! It can be yours! Here, eat my hair and go punch some bad guys"
Izuku goes around trying to punch robots and failing horribly. Gets injured, recovers, becomes the Batman.
I find it funny how in all the big supehero anime of recent years, so Tigger & Bunny, One Punch Man and now My Hero Academia, all superheres are working through goverment structures. This opposed to american style of superheroes who mostly to it independent vigilante style.
I guess it shows the love of order Japanese society has

If his ultimate goal was to save her, couldn't he have just lifted the rock that was holding her back instead of going nuts?
I wasn't necessarily expecting him to get powers, but I did anticipate it. I kind of wanted to see how this story would be if it was really about a powerless kid who manages to rise above the rest through his ingenuity and determination.
mfw im holding back on posting manga spoilers
But when its in relation to posts in this thread i cant just go posting it in another thread
Manga talk in this thread is pretty annoying to be honest
Anyone can guess which manga chapter the anime going to end?
What chapter didend? That one, if so.USJ (including this as null space so as not to give anything away)
20 or 21 is really the only reasonable prediction, and teasing the main villain of the next major arc for the very end.Anyone can guess which manga chapter the anime going to end?
It has. It's also common sense, or should be. But that apparently doesn't stop people.I'm surprised this thread hasn't adopted the "NO MANGA SPOILERS" policy that other anime threads tend to follow.
I say that as a manga reader brehs. I like seeing the unspoiled reactions of anime-only watchers and you all are trying to take that from me.
And we just had Erased momIt's rare to see the MC's Mom (or a Mom in general) being a viable option for best girl.
Refreshing to see!
I just realized -- Uraraka got those Rescue Points not from helping Deku when he was falling, but from when she tried to give her points away for him
By the way, Recovery Girl's voice is so different to what I was expecting, but it kinda fits her image, lol
can't wait for the inevitable flashback "yo she was the SEXIEST back in the day. THE SEXIEST."
You can hear a bit in the third PVMan I can't wait to hear Froppy's voice
It would make sense -- it's the same principle of self-sacrifice that All Might talked about. You sure about that? I didn't even consider it.
Though I did just notice that it was only because of Deku that she passed because it seems like 50 or so points is the minimum needed.
Yeah, the Quirkless population is listed as 20%, so most of them are ancient geezers. She was probably one of the original waves of heroes, before they organized or quirks became the norm.
Man, Deku really had terrible luck. I imagine most of the quirkless population skews older.

...incidentally, Deku is from the fifth generation of Quirk users, according to the doctor at the beginning, so taking a generation to be "20 years", MHA takes place in the 22nd century. Which matches up with them having robots.
Just finished episode 2. Midoriya just said "By the way, this is the story of how I become the greatest hero ever"
Is that supposed to be hopeful or actual literal, as in he's narrated that line from a future tense???
I imagine the narration as Deku telling the story to his successor.Just finished episode 2. Midoriya just said "By the way, this is the story of how I become the greatest hero ever"

It's being told in the past tense by him to somebody.
I imagine the narration as Deku telling the story to his successor.
So then I can presume he becomes the greatest hero for real by the end of this?? :O
Oh yeah I remembered this thing is 13 episodes, at the rate its going it's going to end before it really gets started.
There are some arcs in the manga right now where it's a god damn shame we won't get to see them animated for aaaaaaaaages
Yo the VERY NEXT ARC is hype AF.
I knooooooooooooooooow. I swear if they had that arc in the now airing episodes, people would go nuts over the series
It has a perfect end point too.
If it weren't for the fact that they couldn't get this slot for a second cour, it'd totally have happened.
