All that hate for Kacchan :( I actually really like him and find him quite cool.

I never would've guessed people hated him that much.

the voice acting really makes him more hatable in the anime, lol. not that he's not a shit in the manga, but, you know, he's a bit less irritating.

The way the pacing is right now I honestly don't know how they'll make what the cour is obviously going to end on compelling.

Guess we'll see.

No, I can easily see a way. There's less plot between then and now than you'd think. Is this slot 12 or 13 episodes?

He tells Deku to kill himself and is an insufferable twat, fuck Kacchan.

The pacing in this show is killing meeeeeeeee.

At least this episode had Tsuyu and Ashido.

so the payoff in episode 5 of 13 is...he throws a baseball really good? ok.

We are talking about a guy who has never had a special power suddenly being given an insane amount of power that he has to learn to control without killing himself in a short time.

At the same time you are watching people who have been BORN with their power.
For them using their quirk is like breathing. It's natural.

For Deku, he has to actively think about it and use it.

That he is this far along in such a short time should show you how good he is.

I read the manga but this is still some slow-ass pacing for a 13 episodes season. What's the point in this being so slow? If they end up rushing through the big you-know-what it's just a shit show.

Also, lol @ calling Deku a "smart" protagonist. Maybe not utterly stupid.

If the part is indeed a two parter (I'm assuming they will show the other teams working as well to pad it out), it will indeed be a lost pacing horizon.
It didn't even seem like they showed any part of the actual competition in the ending preview?

Going by my estimations theyd have 5 episodes for the final arc which is more than enough imo

Ep 6 & 7 for the fight
8 for other characters and build up

9-13 for the last arc

Enjoying the show so far, but its tough to realize that the show likely won't get to its best points before 113 episodes are over. it's been a little too slowly paced so far.

Not a manga reader btw

I wish the anime would treat bakugou better. Hes a great character but i feel its making him seem a bit mean. Though at least Midoriya still likes him.

Bakugo isn't all that bad considering the fact that he stopped bullying Midoriya after the villain encounter (that burn). He has some form of good in him, don't know if he will undergo any amount of character development later on.

I kind of relate Midoriya's shaky personality, he's a guy who's been subject to bullying and disappointment over the lack of a quirk, it has made him feel inferior to others over time while also cowering at the slightest threatening gesture. It is going to take a while to get over it and I'm not entirely sure how making a joke out of it is alright, maybe it's the idea that being 'scared' is just 'laughable' when there's no need for it.

Guys, they're going at a clear rate now of 2 chapters per episode. It's pretty much exactly enough to end at the conclusion of the USJ arc. So look at the manga chapters and place expectations accordingly.

6 7-8
7 9-10
8 11-12
9 13-14
10 15-16
11 17-18
12 19-20
13 21-22

As I said in the season anime thread, I feel the pacing of MHA is being over analysed because we know its only getting a 13 episode season. The series doesn't feel paced for that it feels paced for a long running shonen and had mha been announced for a 52 episode run the pacing would be somewhere in the middle for long running shonen. I think the pacing is good it could be a lot better but its certainly not terrible.

I think that Horikoshi manga is fast paced as fuck. Things that in DB/OP/Naruto would take a lot of chapters he solves it in just one or a few. I even thought Bones would drag the anime because of this but they are doing a very good job respecting the original source.

I think the pacing is perfect. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And yeah, it's definitely being overanalysed because of th 13 episode count. Which doesn't matter anyway, because there is no way this isn't getting a second season.

And I vastly prefer an adaption taking its time and fleshing things out properly instead of just rushing over the beginning to get to some arbitrary proclaimed "good stuff™".

Yep. I can't understand this mentality. Rush to the crazy action parts though you didn't developed well your characters to make it meaningful enough.

I just got here, liked this 5th episode. But the first 4 episodes... Man, if you as an Anime watcher don't like those 4 first episodes, you have no soul.

This keeps being so good, and all these warm feelings i get every episode are becoming addicting, this time i screamed irl when it cut to credits because it flew so fast!

Very interesting episode, many new character
especially for the waifu wars
, lots of quirks and finally some inteliggence and smart situations being applied (i guess this is where the comparisons with HxH starts blooming).

Go and get them all Izuku, especially those smug-asshole Bakugou and Aizawa (which sounds like a douchier Kakashi tbh).

I wish every episode could at least one hour lol

Arnt they just the best

Give me some substance beyond, oh hey, look, there is The Designated Love Interest and maybe I would have a difference in opinion.

We already there in the manga and way past that, has everyone like

you gonna have to wait atleast 2-3episodes before it starts for you guys, actually it may start next episode. Not sure how much you were expecting when she was introduced 1 1/2 episodes ago

The supporting cast hasn't even really appeared yet, and mostly won't with only 13 episodes.

Ahh sorry, mea culpa. Mistook Shard for another poster who i knew read source material and thought he was speaking of it as a whole.

Actually, I would say next episode should have development for some of the supporting cast, if I am remembering the manga correctly
