I read the first 2 volumes of the manga and wasn't grabbed. Just watched the latest two episodes and same

Maybe I'm over stereotypical anime stuff. It's entertaining enough, but I feel like I've seen it all before.

It would be cool if they started hiring actors with American accents to do American roles, like in All Might's case. Are there really none of them in Japan? The closest thing I've ever seen in any anime was the German guy in The Wind Rises who was voiced by an American on Ghibli's board of directors.

Oh. That's weird. Huh.

Why are all his special attacks named for American locations?

Why not he embodys the american stereotype of superhero almost like a Japanese Superman if anything its just the writer taking major inspiration from comics, if im not mistaken the manga hasn't gone into details about the rest of the world and quirks yet.

He just happens to be a hero as well.

I mean it is sort of funny that by every right he should be a villain but isn't.
But you wouldn't want to be in the same room as the guy for more than a couple of seconds.

How are we sure he wont become a villain?

So, watched this through to current so far- and something's nagging at me because the series has now pulled it twice- characters getting grievously injured (first the teachers, now Iida's brother) in situations where they should realistically have died, but miraculously survive.

There's a tension there where the story toys with a dark underbelly but seems unwilling to embrace it. (at least, so far.) Todoroki's plotline is also dark, but not really in the same way.

I'm pretty sure medical science in this world has advanced due to quirks.

In these type of series, crazy durability is the norm. And even then, MHA actually doesn't abuse it as much, like Deku's hands always getting fucked up. Nothing's bad as Fairy Tail though.

So is the next episode the last one of the season? Season 1 was 13 episodes, but I can't find anything that explicitly states that about S2 one way or the other.

It was listed to have 25 episodes, but no idea if that number was ever confirmed. This episode seemed like the proper stopping point if they weren't continuing to 25. New opening next week?

Gonna be fun when this airs on Toonami lol. People are gonna be really confused when they hear bleeps during their children anime.

New ending. No word on the OP as far as I know though considering how different it is from the sports festival arc I imagine they will at least overhaul the visuals.

I find that you underestimate shonen. They can get very dark.

AoT mostly kills side characters. Mikasa/Erin/Armin are pretty much safe until the end of the series, or I'll eat my hat.

MHA won't even kill side characters. Stain won't kill a single person on screen. I'm betting money on that.

Don't need to kill someone to get dark :p

That show was so disappointing. The beginning had me expecting something different but alas.

What were you expecting?

We need to talk about Mineta's voice in the dub

It's... good. Like real solid, to the point where his character comes across as borderline endearing instead of the creepy, generic, pervert shithead he normal is.

WHAT THE FUCK

WHAT THE FUCK

Isn't Brina Palencia the actress voicing him?

If he tells someone to screw themselves, would you interpret that as him actually asking them to have sex with themselves?

Honestly, this is just basic human behavior. He's intentionally abrasive to everyone around him so he says generic demeaning stuff, but what has always defined his motive is that he wants to win. And win legitimately.

He saw that Todoroki was capable of more than the fight he gave him, so he doesn't feel he actually won. It doesn't make him virtuous except in the sense that he wants to achieve victory in a fair way. He won't be happy if it's just given to him.
If Bakugo "wants to win legitimately" why does he demand that all his opponents stand down immediately? Why does he demand that they give up without even trying? Why does he try to intimidate Deku into not trying to enroll at U.A. at all multiple points?

Because he's shittily written nonsense character and I'm getting real sick of you guys deliberately misinterpreting what I'm saying. He has never cared about winning legitimately until last episode where suddenly he cares.

Because he doesn't give a shit about fodder and wants to win legitimately against people who "matter" (ie: Todoroki)

It's not complicated.

Something a little less shonen, I guess. I was kinda hoping Eren would have actually died and that the show would shift focus to Mikasa and her growth, becoming less dependent and attached to Eren and becoming her own person, maybe opening up to other people. I was also hoping the Titans would be something more interesting. Not sure what but definitely not what we got where everyone was a titan.

I wouldn't mind watching the dub, it seems well produced and acted, but the names just break my immersion every time. "Midoriya" instead of "Izuku" is just so weird
